  • Horns give you that good clarity thump it's hard to get from other subs. It's because the air in the tunnel acts as a brake and so you don't get the boomy resonance of ported (and even sealed to some extent) when the beats sort of blur together.

  • Can you tell me exactly how much everything cost, and what driver you used? I want to do something pretty much exactly like yours, one T39, and build more later as I acquire the money. I'm a high school DJ so I have a pretty limited income.

Hopefully you'll answer, as I'm really quite undecided on what I want to buy.

  • that sounded like soma serious sub! nice work :D

  • Hey, great video! Whats the width of this cab?

  • Sweet dude...but thanks too sleeperawaken36, he has re-opened my eyes to horns. I owned 4 Dual 18" Super subs but replaced them for 6 EAW KF850 Subs. I changed to the EAW because of the size, but the Bill Fitzmaurice designs are really efficient in both size and performance.

Just bought the TUBA 36 plans, going to build 12 30" Wide single 15" Powered by 7000 Watts partnered with 12 Line Array Tops, 2 12", 4 6" & 1 2" Drives. Think the TUBA bass will bakc them up nicely. Vids up soon. Peace

  • well how did your gig go with these corner loaded...were you happy?

  • Hi, I have read that the TUBA 36 goes a bit lower than the Titan 48. Over all, which would you say is better in terms of SPL and reasonable low frequencies if cabs are like 22 inches wide?

  • i've never heard any other bill fitzmaurice cab live before i built this one! haha! sorry i can't be of more assistance, but i do know that there are spl charts on his site that compare the tuba 36 to the t48.

  • @paraj123

Go for the T48. It's much easier to move around and is much more sensitive than the tubas in the important areas, and will still reach below most recorded music. T48>T36 in terms of SPL in the +40hz area. If you want slightly smaller, the T39 is just as loud as the T48, but doesn't go as low.

  • Thanks for the video. I just ordered the kit for the t39 aswell. It'll be 16" with the bp102. What driver is in yours? I know v plating and corner loading will help the horn design, so you'll still get a little bit more output, but just by itself how does it compare to regular reflex 18's? well, how loud really, because i know the horn is much cleaner.

  • no problem. when i was trying to decide which sub to build i was frustrated at the lack of video out there of these in action. mine is loaded with the 3012LF. Compared to a regular 18" direct radiator i'd say that the volume is considerably higher. with the single titan off the ground and outside i could still walk down the street and clearly hear it. i could never do that with a direct radiator.

  • Was it a tough build? I am thinking of building 4 Tuba 36's for Djing. I have a beautiful set of KV2 Active tops, but may consider building the DR 250's to go with the TUBA's. Any advice?
