  • So many fun memories of Saturday mornings. Just think, there were many more great cartoons and commercials. I remember so many of these moments so well; no wonder Saturdays were always fun around the TV. Thanks for posting!

  • @tigermark64 Thanks Mark ! You had to be there to appreciate it ! Thanks for looking !!!

  • Johnnyboy792 which show do you like

  • @Keepsu I was an H.R. Pufnstuf guy. A few years back I made a video for a friend of mine who had two kids. I have a huge collection of commercials and inserted some of the toys & cereal commercials you saw in the video from 1970. His kids were begging for toys that were not even being made anymore. They loved it !!! It's great entertainment that I wish would find a way back :0)

  • 03kester i like sid and marty krofft

  • @Keepsu Ya gotta admit..... Witchie-Poo was a scary Beyoch !! :0) LOL

  • which show did you like

  • Awesome memories for me, especially the sno-cone machine, Shazam, Monster Squad, and those I never heard of growing up. I'm 45, and I only wish today's kids could see how much I loved cartoons and Saturday mornings in the 1970s. These days, I just either stay in bed until noon, or watch "SportsCenter".

  • @kscott24 Thanks for your comments Scott !!!

  • Too bad production costs have gotten so expensive and cultural sensibilities so hair-trigger that all that comes out now is bland and generic.

  • Can you say FLASHBACK...sid and marty krofft's stuff used to scare the crap outta me.

  • SSTs @9:59 !!!!!!

  • Hands down this is the audio/visual of what I now know was the greatest time of my life...and I mean you captured EVERY MEMORY I HAVE. THANK YOU INFINITY!!!!!!!!!

  • So, now I know where Hollywood has gone for ideas over the past ten years or so.

  • @AntiFederalist1 LOL Ya got that right. All they had to do was reach back into their childhood !!! Thanks for watching !!!

  • The Channel Changer noise between clips is beyond ANNOYING

  • My god! I had all those Hasbro and Mattell games, including the strange one that involved putting "dynamite" in a "shack" using gigantic pink plastic "thumbs". What was the point of that one again?

  • @sbarbu Some of the best kids games came out during this era. A lot of them were banned for being a little too dangerous & this was one..... and don't get me going about the game "Pie In The Face".... that's a long story LOL. Thanks for looking !!!

  • Great job, Johnnyboy!! That was a wonderful trip down Memory Lane. Thanks for posting this!

  • SO much fun! Thank you for your hardwork! That was Awesome!!! :)

  • @suzirelli It was my pleasure SUZ !!!! Thanks for watching !!!

  • thank you Johnnyboy792, This video of compilations has brought tears of joy to me, I remember all of this like it was yesterday. I am a 50 year old man, and when I saw this it took me back to when I was a happy little boy without a care in the world. I remember I could not wait till Saturday mornings. Johnnyboy you have done for me something unexplainable,I have a joyous feeling right now, my mind is capturing memories after memories,WoW!! Thanks again Johnnyboy792!!!!

  • @77757891 Wow, that's quite a compliment and I really thank you. This is what I intended when I first started on my labor of love. Im glad it brought a smile to you :0)

  • @Johnnyboy792 Good stuff ''Johnnyboy'', I echo '7775891's comment verbatim,

because I'm almost at a loss of words.

Thank you VERY much for puttin' that together.

  • @truthseeker9261 Thanks so much Seeker !!!!

  • Thanks for posting! I was in a foul mood until I saw this, but now I'm better. I was a child of the 70's and I still love the ol' school Filmation cartoons,School House Rock, Sid & Marty Kroft etc....

  • @hazelwitchhazel Much thanks Hazel.. ( Love that name ). Bringing a smile was my goal with this video !!!

  • i grew up during the 70's and these dhows still bring a smile to my face, my younger sisters try to forget about our childhood. this is just one way to keep dreams alive and lessen the stress in your life.

  • @iraqivetsgtret48 Thanks ever so much !!!

  • klassik miss these great shows....!!!!

  • @fluffydolly Thanks Dolly !!!

  • wonderful world of Disney ending our night would have been nice

  • @vanspiritwalker LOL Hey theres an idea. Sunday night thru the years. I think you're onto something there :0)

  • Just watching all of the shows and comercials makes me happy to be raised during that era. After 11:30am I was playing ball in the playground. It is unheard of in this generation.

  • @TheTurk56523 We were all Lucky Turk. Thanks for watching !!!

  • i wish tv networks kept these old cartoons playing on saturday mornings like they used to.

  • @yolo22 You're right. A sort of Retro Saturday. You'd think they would have thought of this :0)

  • My children once asked me what was on Cartoon Network when I was a kid. I explained Saturday morning TV to them. They seemed to think I was deprived in some way. I don't think so at all. Thanks for the memories!

  • @susanj37 LOL The Cartoon Network is like having chocolate milk all day long. After a while, no appreciation for it. This was a day meant only for kids and it was a time well remembered. Im glad you enjoyed it Susan ! :0)

  • Fabulous video! Born 1960 - and saw EVERY SINGLE SHOW mentioned on that video. Thanks for the trip back to my childhood - boy was it ever fun!

  • @dillysgirl4ever Thanks for watching Dilly !!!

  • I was a poor kid back then, but looking back now I was rich with all the shows they produced for saturday morning. I gave us something rarely seen nom Imagination.............!!

  • @not2fast4u2c Money is relative when you're a kid. As long as we had TV and Yodals in the cabinet, our world was joyous ! Thanks for watching 2Fast !!!

  • This is the best video I have ever seen, thank you! Born 1965, you have given me so much

  • @spencer757200 Thanks ever so much Spencer. I'm very happy you enjoyed it !

  • I remember when Saturday mornings belonged to us kids of that era.Only time we got to sit in front of the television & eat our sugar filled cereals without a care in the world..... oh those were the days & I'm happy I was a part of it.I would not trade my childhood with any of today's kids, poor things are being robbed of a carefree childhood. This world moves so fast now today's kids don't get to be children for very long it's a shame.

  • @AdamCartwrightILoveU I agree 100 % with every word you say. Thanks so much for watching !!!

  • Oh My God!!! Wonderful memories of childhood. Thank you so much for this.

  • @schultz970 Hey Thanks Schultzy !!! It was a labor of love for me !!!

  • I think we're "gen-Xers", not baby-boomers, but thanks!!

  • @victordemise LOL Either way, you missed out on some good times Victor. Thanks for looking !

  • H.R Pufnstuf! R.I.P Jack Wild, you were brilliant.

  • Done very well. They just do not make any of these programs like this today.

  • @marktcgb And Thank You Mark. I hoped it tapped into some long forgotten memories :0)

  • Johnny Boy you rock! I think we had every single one of those games. In NY we Wonderama. And I remember the Hudson Brothers too! And Rocky and Bullwinkle!!!!! Thanks so much for posting. I gotta send this to my bro and sis...

  • @cmuberti YES !!! Another satisfied customer ! Thanks so much for your kind comments cmuberti. I always planned for a few years to put together a video time warp for people. I also did one for daytime TV in the 60's & 70's too. Thanks for looking !!

  • @cmuberti great!!........although i would have added at the end, "and curses to the forces that destroyed Saturday morning".......le sigh.........:(

  • This is WONDERFUL and yes, it does take me WAY back! Thanks for putting this together! :)

  • @nycbutterfly52 Thank you too for watching !!! Check out my ones for WPIX & WNEW too !

  • Thanks for putting forth the time and effort it brought back many memories ..one of which was me and my brother fighting over whose turn it was to change the channel

  • Most Boomers went to school and learned how to spell WHOSE!

  • This is another fantastic trip down memory lane, thank you for putting it together and posting. It sure does jar the old memory. The only thing I would add is that they need a channel (as well as subscription services to get this for free to XBox, Wii and PlayStation, TiVo, DVR's, etc.) to run that whole series 24/7 to kids (and yes some adults!) is Schoolhouse Rock, Grammar Rock, History Rock and Multiplication Rock than what they have now (which is nothing). Keep em coming, nice to see these!

  • I've never actually thanked anyone for a video.....then again, not sure I can do it now....I mean seriously, how do you thank someone for a ride in the "way-back machine"...lol. My wife and I sat here going...Ooooh, I used to have one of those....wow!, I used to watch that!!! LOL!!! So, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • @doctor90250@doctor90250 LOL Thank so much Doc ! That's what I was going for. Trying to send people back to a time warp of the halcyon days of a a much better time. Thanks so much for looking. Check out my Daytime TV Memories too. :0)

  • Awesome video

  • @cersosi19 Thanks for watching !

  • Ker-Plunk. I miss that game.

  • @999klondike LOL The best games came out of that era. Some are still being produced. Thanks for watching !!!

  • I was born in 73, but I remember most of these!! Great video collection!!

  • @Idoljunky32 Thanks so much Junky ! It was fun doing it too :0)

  • Superb montage! How did you find all those old ads and cartoons? Great job, brought back tons of long forgotten memories.

  • @wildnites558 A lot of time & patience.... and being a hoarder helps too :0) I hope it really took you back... thanks for looking !

  • The sound of the channel changer is incredibly annoying.

  • @sd31263 Sorry SD. Part of the idea. I thought is was the best way to segway from one show to the other. My father use to call me Maching Gun Kelly in the way I changed the channels :0)

  • @sd31263 but ya gotta remember that's how you changed the channels on TVs back then........remotes were clunky things that only came with the higher-end TVs of the day...

  • @citizenterryk ... and boy was that me on a Saturday Morning :0) LOL

  • Absolutely wonderful! <--interjection

  • @se7endram Thanks so much for watching !

  • Awww. I loved watching this. Thank you!

  • @chanisco Thank you Channy ! I hope it brought back some great memories for you :0)

  • Marx toy company. Those guys have some great stuff that they produced. Thanks for the post!!

  • @efrem1 Thank you for watching efrem !!!

  • @Johnnyboy792 isn't this cross-breeding generations? baby boomers/ early gen x?

  • @kangalic Yeah - it wasn't just babyboomers. Gen X started being born in the late 60's and we were old enough to watch these shows & fall in love with them too.

  • @ChuckSeverson Yeah baby !!!! I knew you guys would love em too !!! LOL Thanks for watching Chuck !

  • @kangalic I guess you end up with kids eating Frankenberry in front of the PC LOL !

  • The Double Deckers and Smash Up Derby...amazing!!!

  • @BlanchFury Thanks for looking :0)

  • good job man, I felt like I was eating peanut butter and crackers with my baby sitter!! (Im 35)

  • @NoelBenson8029 Thanks Bro !!! From personal experience, it goes best with a bowl of Frankenberry just like I did in the mornings of 71' ! LOL Thanks for looking !

  • Love it, love it, love it.

There's some I remember well you didn't include - Butch Cassidy, These Are The Days, Ark II, CBS Children's Film Festival. And how could you leave out Josie & The Pussycats? But that's okay - to each their own memories.

  • @MadameLil LOL Josie was there Lil ! And some were just too hard to find. But I did pretty good for a rookie :0) Have a great New Year !!!

  • WOW..thanks for this. I remember a LOT of what's shown.

  • @bhorde2k And thank you for watching ! Have a great New Year !

  • This clip is a time machine to live in the past when yesterday's B&W was better than today's color and the world was a better place. Happy days they were. It seemed that every cartoon theme song or commercial jingle was fun and catchy when Saturdays were for kids. Now they are all informercials. Where did the time go? We had it made back then. I feel so lucky.

  • @goodoldazed You are so right ! Let me hear a commercial I haven't heard in 40 years and I'm right back in time. We had it better back then. TV has demeaned itself with the garbage it's shown in the last 20 years. That's one of the reasons I did this TV time warp. Thanks so much for watching and have a great holiday !!!

  • @Johnnyboy792 Clips like this are what make YouTube ultimate multimedia. People say don't live in the past. But when the past was so much more talented, entertaining and free spirited than today, you can't help but lose yourself in happier times and take comfort in yesteryear. There's a such thing as time travel. The good old days are forever.

  • @goodoldazed You got that right. More to come in a few months. Thanks again !!!

  • GReat vid, Remember Libbyland TV dinners? Fruit Pie the Magician? Whammo? Thanks for the vid again

  • @Mr777scary I sure do ! Thanks so much for looking !!!

  • Glad to been a kid in that era.....

  • @miamimann1 LOL Ya got that right. Thanks for looking !

  • Americans did not buy more color TVs than black & white ones until 1972, even though most of these shows were in color way before then.

  • U R TRULY MY HERO BUDDY! AND THIS IS GOING STRAIGHT TO MY FACE BOOK! LOL THANX PAL

  • @rimrambounce LOL Thanks Rammer ! I hope it brought back some great memories for you. Personally it goes better while your eating Frankenberries on a Saturday morning ! :0) Thanks for looking !

  • Of all the hundreds or thousands of videos I've watched on YouTube, this was without a doubt the best one I have ever seen.

  • @bluv808 Thank you so much Blu ! That really makes my day ! Man how I miss those days !! Thanks for watching !

  • AAAAA the memories

  • thanks for putting this together. Kinda makes me sad. TV today is such a "wonderful" distraction to anything intelligent, uplifting, truly educational and fun.

  • @only1pinuchi Than you so much Pinuchi ! They were the best of times.... I'm thankful for DVD's :0)

  • was that Bobby Buntrock (Harold Baxter on "Hazel") on the sock em rock em robot commercial

  • @ManTexDal It sure was. Bobby tragicially died in an auto accident in 1974. And it happend in exactly the same spot that took his moms life a year earlier. Pretty sad. Thanks so much for looking Tex !

  • I remember every one of these! I watched way too much TV... Thanks for making this, it's AWESOME!

  • @whitekitty62 Thank you Kitty ! We had it best for sure !!! :0)

  • Awesome thank you!!!

  • This jared the memory a little bit, Todays cartoons totaly suck so bad, If I had kids today I wouldnt let them watch Todays Cartoons in fear of making them stupid.

  • @MrBigfishs Ya got that right Bigfish !!!

  • @MyRenaissance1 LOL Thanks so much. Not too long ago I actually put together a dvd of a couple of shows with the commercials in between, you know as if we were in 1972 again. I gave it to a friend who showed it to his kids and they began asking for cereals & games they don't even make any more. Now that a a hoot :0) LOL Thanks for looking !!!

  • Thank you for your time, putting this together... incredible! I do remember all of these. What fun!

  • @LFD254 Thanks LFD ! Im happy you enjoyed it ! I also did one of Officer Joe Bolton, who made all NY cops look wonderful :0)

  • @Johnnyboy792 Funny-my father was NYPD and we watched Officer Joe all the time. My dad said that Joe knew some cops and they got him some old uniform parts so he'd look authentic. Little bit of trivia: what badge number did Joe have?

  • @LFD254 LOL I can only guess # 11. Is that right ? Anyway the thing what made it so special is that Joe Bozo and all the rest looked directly into the camera and talked to you like you were the only one in the world. I wish it was still the same for kids !

  • @Johnnyboy792 Yes-11 for channel 11. I agree about the hosts "talking directly to you"/ Capt Jack did it (he always called us "mateys") and so did Chuck McCann. They never talked down at us either.

  • WA O THAT'S SO COOL ..IM EATING CAPTAIN CRUNCH RIGHT NOW .......GOOD MEMORIES ..YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON THE NOSE ....

  • @whooster71 Thanks Wooster ! Thats what I was going for LOL !!!

  • You are my personal time lord(or lady) and YT is the TARDIS!. WELL DONE! Thank you so much for this.

  • @aerospike00 It's a boy Spike LOL. Check out the other vids. You might like em too. Thanks so much for looking :0)

  • Did every pop group at the time have a cartoon based on them?

  • @watsup47able LOL It sure seemed like it. The Bay City Rollars would follow too after this ! Thanks for looking :0)

  • at about 1:30 was Harold from Hazel..LOL

  • @mralmeister1 Good Call Meister !!!! LOL

  • I love this! As I was watching I kept saying to myself "okay, we need Josie and the Pussycats", and then there they were, "now I need to see Land of the Lost", and there it was. Only one I didn't recognize was that "Double Decker" thing.

One I wished you could have included was "The Kids from C.A.P.E.R" but I know that one's incredibly hard to find.

  • @dadoctah LOL Thanks Dadoctah ! The Double Deckers was a british import. It was here only one season in 1970 and never shown again. But it was big in the UK. Thanks for looking !!!

  • @Johnnyboy792 indeed, i remember the old Double Deckers!!.......damn, why weren't there any double-decker buses in DC??......i remember it would come on after either the Cattanooga Cats or Hot Wheels(can't remember which one).......1969-1970 was a powerhouse year for ABC on Saturday mornings!!
