I never quite understood the significance of Spawn choosing not to kill Billy. It's not like he didn't kill people before in this show (and he certainly would kill afterwards. His rampage in the Season 2 finale for example). If anything, Billy was the one person in the show who deserved to be killed more than anyone else.

In the comic I swear there is a picture of a fat fuck with a sign saying "Boys screamed and Girls screamed so I made him scream and scream and scream..." and the sign was nailed into this corpse with ice cream sticks and a fricking ice cream scoop. This is probably one of the most powerful scenes in my life. Since I've been reading Spawn since 1992, the part with Cyan calling Spawn the Sad Man hits me deep. I've never felt that way in any other comic adaptation. You can really see how "sad" Al is - comforting the daughter he never had, and protecting the wife he lost. Plus, the music is spot fucking on.
