Im 4rm Eritrea (east Africa) and we do the double kiss thing, Xcept when your with sum1 older like sum1s grandmother/father they do the double kiss over and over and over again, and theyre grabing your face the whole time, and then sumtimes they cry if they hadnt seen you in like 2 months or sumthing....

it get pretty awkward at times, even more when youve never actually met that person b4....

My moms family is Portoguese. and i grew up with the double cheek kiss. lol so now everyone in southafrica does double kiss. Thanks to the Portuguese.. haha

Yes, the double kiss in the cheeks is what's common here. A hug is usually awkward, even with family in my opinion.
