  • That sound is absolute sex to me! :D

  • @111rickster that's at the engine (flywheel).

This car has since been Twin Turbo'ed (the first performance mod done to the car) - putting out 250kw (336HP) atw @ 8psi. There is pretty much no turbo lag (waiting for boost to kick in). The engine is rated to go 16psi, but I've chosen to not go more than 8psi, as I want to be able to drive the car relatively normal :-)

I havent put this car on the 1/4 Mile yet - dont really intend to. It needs bigger/wider wheels now..... lol

  • hi dude my brother have like your's but a normal one 2003 in Saudi Arabia

it gose 120k/h in lees than 5sec how rocking is that :D

you almost have gone to 200k/h

but me I only have gone with my bother's only 180k/h :D but your's is rocking dude

    have fun :)

  • nice vid mate, I have a red manual ralliart aswell.. build number 455. Just wondering what that light is that is on just above your speedo? the green light.

  • @deanbro90 Cruise Control light.

Light goes on when it's "ON", but doesnt mean it's set to a speed....

  • i hit 220kmh in my stock 5 speed manual before speed limiter kicked in. one of the best cars ive owned people just dont understand how good (quick) these cars are a pitty they were under marketed i love blowing ss coms and v8 falcons haha

  • pooer. huge axle trump!

  • whats the difference between a ralliart magna and a normal magna? i really dont know

  • Where to start lol. The engine has been tuned from the VRX (163 kilowatts) to 180 kilowatts and 333Nm of torque (tuning by Ralliart).

It has the sports suspension from the VRX, with custom tuned dampers by Koni, Japan. 17'' Enkei alloys with performance tyres by Pirelli. Limited Slip Diff on the manual model.

Full Ralliart bodykit with Evo-style, twin-deck spoiler.

Custom interior with Ralliart logos on the seats, red and black material on the seats, door trims, red guages...

  • (Continued) with Ralliart logo on the face, leather-wrapped steering wheel by Momo (in red/black leather), silver finish on centre console.

Power windows and sunroof (optional extra from factory), exclusive Fujitsu Stereo head unit, sound system with 14 speakers.

Data Dot security protection as standard. The Ralliart has a custom-designed baffle in the fuel tank to stop fuel starvation in hard cornering. Speed limiter raised from 210km/h to 240km/h. Lol i could go on.

  • had a run with one of these the other night in my XR8 (5 litre) Only beat it by about a car length there pretty impressive

  • nice, its good to hear comments like these, a lot of ford and holden people wont give the credit like that. cheers.

  • I own the same car. Never let me down :)

  • Hey nice vid - just got myself one of these, the most under-rated production car made in this country. Previous comments quite entertaining, esp those who have no idea about this car! In response to comments about awd - would be awesome but mitsu lost money on this car - did it more for image of the brand. Also sprintex did a supercharger for awd magna - 225kw - only does 0-100 in 7.1 secs - close to auto ralliart.

  • can i just add was the same as chrysler valiant and the charger, very under rated, i now own a 02 sports and mate it has the looks and the get up and go, even in 4th you can just accelerate off quite effectively

  • Love these cars!!!

  • Hey mate. Just got a question. I've read that the redline on the tachometer of a Ralliart Magna is marked at 6500rpm. I own a 5-speed manual 3.0L V6 and the Redline is marked at 6000 but the rev-limiter kicks in at about 6800. Does the Ralliart have a limiter at 6800rpm as well? Or is it higher? And do you still own your Ralliart?

  • Yep, still own the ralliart - might force feed it within the next year or 2. Still weighing up whether I want to go supercharged or twin turbo....

I've seen the needle hit 7000rpm before in my car, but I couldnt say where it limits exactly at either 6800rpm or 7000rpm. I do know that when the speed limiter kicks in at 245km/h, it does come as a BIG shock (as the car is still accelerating - then suddenly it just dies, until the car reaches around 220km/h, then kicks back to life again).

  • Yeah i know... sort of. I've taken my Magna up to the speed limiter and it's definitely not a subtle cut in power it's like a huge jerk. Can you post up some videos of the interior of one of these. I want to buy a Ralliart, and i've done heaps of research - the interior is definitely one of my favourite features. i just want a bit more detailed look at the inside. I'm keen on either pewter or sable, manual with the sunroof. What spec is yours?

  • Hey mate i also want to ask question, we own a 2002 sports 5 speed, goes like a shower of shit but get shit loads of wind noise from back window, do you have any off these issues, if so how do you fix it. thanks

  • other than making sure the back winds are up, I'd then take it to a place that replaces windows and get them to check the seal surrounding the window.... And no, I dont have problems with mine.

  • Yeah might have to, irritates the shit out of me, looks like the window sticks out a little, thanks anyway.

  • @chargin48

    Actually, I know this problem you're talking about - dunno if you've fixed it yet, but;

I had the same problem, and it turned out to be the rubber in the centre pillar (between the two door windows) and I had to adjust it a bit.

Before I adjusted it, anything after 80km/h and it would be windy as hell.

Dont listen to the car yards if they tell you that the rubber has to be replaced - try adjusting it first.... took a few adjustments before I figured the perfect spot.

  • @nickvn Hi no I have not fixed it yet, I thought maybe the problem was inside the door, how do you adjust the rubber, are oyu talking about the rubber along side the pillar. thanks

  • @chargin48 the rubber just sits firmly onto the chassis.... it's not glued.

The bit that was leaking air for me was in the middle. So i pulled it out a bit (with the door open off course) and then closed the door.... which re-sealed it up. Took a few goes to get it to fit perfectly, but now i dont have a problem. Cant really tell you much more than that, as that's all i did.....

  • @nickvn Ill have another look at it, its a bloody good car but that wind drive me up the wall, irritatates the shit out off me. Thanks for your time anyway

  • Goes very nice.

We had a 2005 dedicated LPG Magna ES.

It went right up to 225km/h and wanted to keep going...

    Very underrated cars.

  • Redblower... i agree very underrated. We not long got one, I always said if it had a ford or holden badge on it would be thought of differently, and also FWD turn people off

  • great car, just letting ya know from past comments that all magna's are naturally aspirated (meaning, no forced induction)

  • a late 90 model i remember looking up on my mechanic class's comp had an AWD manual magna, their beasts

  • if only they made these in manual, or an awd manual version would have been such a sick car.

  • This one is a manual - but yeh, AWD would be a LOT better...... then add forced induction (supercharger or tubo) to it and then you have something that can start competing against a GTR skyline :)

Why they didnt make a version like it.... got me stuffed.

  • Lol they did it's called an EVO ya dickhead ;)

  • The EVO isnt in the same category, ya dickhead ;)

EVO = 4CYL, mainly used for rally and not for touring (although it sure does have some balls and capable of going head-to-head with a skyline for cornering, and short distances, etc).

SKYLINE = 6CYL, used for touring, etc

3000GT = Mits's closest link to equal the skyline, but it's pretty heavy.

The Magna is lighter than the 3000GT, but I'm not sure how much heavier it would be adding AWD + turbo + piping....

  • That said, I'd still buy an EVO over a skyline if I were to choose between the two :)

  • The AWD system to be converted and lengthend to suit a magna which is an Australian only model would not be viable, they didnt even sell 10,000 of these Oz wide. Why would they try and make an AWD turbo magna which would be heavier, slower and more expensive than a EVO. And be right hand drive needing conversion for export which probably wouldnt meet export emissions.... It'd be a nice thought but worth the trouble hey :)

  • magnas have 200 bhp right? or even 200 crank hp but not to the wheels stock... they probably maker 170-180 to the wheels

  • It's a Ralliart Magna you idiot.

At default, a standard Magna puts out around 160KW (flywheel) - The Ralliart Magna puts out 180KW (flywheel).

At a dyno around the same time this video was taken, THIS Ralliart Magna put out 150KW at the wheels..... which is approx 200HP.

The whole purpose of this video and description is to show what a STOCK RALLIART MAGNA can do 0-200.

  • dont call me an idiot dude chill out i forgot the magnas made 240 hp when you put up a vid you should respect the people who actually take the time to comment and not be a jackass...

  • why does Magna stop at 220 only

  • very quick car! want one :D

  • Can anyone tell me the difference between Magna VR-X and Rallyart!?

My VR-X was made Xmas 2000, first sold Feb 2001. Leather seats, red dials and the bits on the steering wheel, just like the one in this video. It has full body kit as well.

I bought it last year and I love its performance.

I was a Mercedes guy so I don't know much about Mitsubishi.

Also, should I avoid 91 octane fuel and the one containing ethanol?

    Thanks ahead

  • I cant comment a whole lot, but the normal Magna (VR-X included) are Multi-point injected, while the ralliart is Naturally Asperated. Both are front wheel drive if memory serves me correctly and the Ralliart has sports suspension etc.

Plus it looks pretty cool, little bit rice... But meh, if you like it you like it

  • Right, Thank you.

  • Multi point injected refers to how the fuel enters the combustion chamber while naturally asperated refers to how the air enters the manifold, they are completely different aspects of an engine so thats wrong. They both have sports suspension (although ralliarts is better) and they both have kits on em but the ralliart has a 180kw motor and LSD on the manual the vrx a 163kw motor.

  • wernt the vrx 165kw that what mine was when it was stock

  • the ralliart manual are good they just can handle the torque better then manuals maybe be quicker but when they fisrt did a road challenge they would of taken the vrx over a ralliart manual , but the auto has got alot of great comments now this is a quote from auto speed road test "But now we've driven the car, and that excitement has to a large degree been replaced with disappointment. Why? Well, fundamentally, the manual Ralliart's chassis simply can't handle the power and torque"

  • Yeah, commodores rock! :S. :S.

  • huh u didn't just say that. Im a Holden fan but still i brought a magna. last night i puled up beside a 3.8l vt that wanted to race. we where in a 40 zone and he Kept dumping it, i doped it back in to first hit the sixty zone dumped it broke traction. his face drooped and then dident want to race no more. haha the next set of light he didn't even look at me his face was glued to the front and he took of like a grand ma from the vn up all the sixes r shit

  • yeah the VL's RB shits all over any of the VN + 6s

  • @Brookssteff do you know the funniest thing is the VN's were Holdens fastest V6 untill the VY

  • i want one as my first car. i should start saving

  • love my vrx 2 death in nz they called diamante lol not magnas but still rock on

  • Long live the Magna! I have a TE 96 with an exhaust. Looking at supercharging or turboing. Lets see Holden or Ford keep up then!

  • ha what u tool my vrx kills xr6 if u squeze it on slowly yeah the rx6 has more torque man if i dup it i piss all over an xr6 its in the class of the xr6t and i kill the gt-p and all the shit v8s except for the new E series ss and up im a Holden fan but fuck im glad i brought a magna witch keeps up with my mates xr6t and eats my brothers 5.7l ss

  • i drive VRX too . pretty much P-plater ownage car. although the Integra Type Rs are a good match.

    (p-plate restrictions)*

  • im not saying ur car is shit but im telling u now dude unless ur cars tuned there is no way in hell a stock 3.5litre VRX would beat a GT-P i own a AU XR8 5 speed man and i raced a VRX thru about 5 sets of traffic lights the VRX had me untill i was half way thru 2nd and all 8 cylinders gave the car a kick up the arse and smoked the vrx every single time..altho i will admit there a very nice well rounded package and i would not doubt there potential one bit plus the body kits look badass on em

  • mine aint stock it got 180 kw in stead 165 the Au model xr8 nah they cant keep up. they keep up til i hit 4 and then i pull out ill bet my ball on i t man iv had more races since then gtp can beat me by about 3 car lenghs by the time i hit limit and i normally start slowly gaining back on them at the end its an 04 vrx i don't think the new ones go as hard

  • ahh okay yeah mines stock 185kw with 414nm torque and with u having a lighter car ur power to weight would be alot lower its amazing what a few hundred kg's off a car can do

  • Yep you're right.

A 3.5L manual will take a stock AU xr8 auto. But manual vs manual no chance.

  • I own a stock 2002 ralliart magna, and know a bloke with an AU XR8. Went to the test and tunes (drags) one night and i raced him and just beat his time. Both cars are manual.

  • Lol probably cause he has to baby it into second :p

  • @Brookssteff im sorry there is NO way a stock Magna VRX will keep up with a XR6T..there probley flat out keeping up with BA XR6's i know they gave the AU VCT XR6's a bloody good run for there money, can you get them in AWD, ive seen a few AWD models those things would be weapons over the 400metres, but stock there not much, havent found a stock one yet that will touch my AU XR8

  • @GreendragonDMX1 Not sure who you're referring to about a VRX, but this video is of a Ralliart Magna..... not a VRX. A Ralliart Magna puts out more than a VRX and can most definately take on an XR6T, because if you read some of the earlier comments, I have a brother with an XR6T and it kept up with me up to about 140, then I left him in 4th gear......

  • @GreendragonDMX1 dude i own a tl vrx haha an Au xr8 u make me laugh u have no chance. and have a good read about VRX VS RalliArt

  • I'd suggest if you ever have the chance to drive a manual Ralliart Magna you will quickly change your mind.

  • The autos do a better job, not as much fun, but they get up to speed faster

  • Nope.

Manual Ralliart 0-100km/h in 6.7 secs

Auto Ralliart 0-100km/h in 7.1 secs

  • Nope, manuals faster, and that comment you posted above. Please explain why you think "Naturally aspirated" is some sort of performance mod? It simple means no compressed air is going into the intake EG TURBO.

N/A = no supercharger or turbo, are you fucking retarded? You also seemed unsure about the FWD factor, you're obviously a failed abortion.

  • What the fuck was that mister internet warrior? Naturally aspirated is the type of engine you cock juggler. And no fucking joke its N/A, holy shit, do you sit there in front of your computer all day googling things trying to seem smart? Its a 3.5L Naturally Aspirated straight 6 engine, now fuck off pre teen.

  • Umm, it's not a straight 6 engine, it's a V6 engine, and I'm glad you googled the 6G74 and found out it was a 3.5L. You're fucking awesome mate.

  • I love the fact the guy correcting him is wrong too lol

  • maybe you should use google...its a v6 haha

  • N/A IS a type of engine,a type that has NO FORCED INDUCTION! a volkswagan BEETLE has a Naturally aspirated engine.

a CAMIRA has a Naturally aspirated engine..

a ford ford FESTIVA has a Naturally aspirated engine.

get it ??? there are 2 category's of engines,,,,, 1. FORCED IN DUCTION (turbo of super chragerd )

    2. NATURALLY ASPIRATED ( NO TURBO OR SUPER CHARGER) good luck p0rkch0ps.. if you got it by now,you would realized that a standard magna engine is NATURALLY ASPIRATED.unless u force fed it

  • Hes right manual is faster, 0-100 is about 6.2 seconds on a manual, 7.4 on a auto, regardles its a great car :)

  • Commodore V8 will kick ass!

  • im a holden fan there not that great but there affordable the 3.5l give the vt an ars kickin

  • Faster than the Aurion to 200kph by the looks of it. And the Aurion is the quickest NA 6 in production in Australia at the moment. The Magna can still hold its own 6 years on.

  • @Memphis35 The TJ Magna RALLI//ART was actually the fastest accelerating N/A V6 of it's time and Probally still is (my aunts Dad has a VT SS commdore and says his commonwhore is faster then my Verada Yes maybe but he got a rude shock when he went against The TJ RALLI//ART My Mate has)

When the motor packs in on the Verada I'll probally whack the Ralli//art motor in it just for a bit more power over the stock 3.5 and it'll give people a rude shock

  • Your instrument cluster surround is a little dusty.

  • Be funny if he was on a Dyno lol...

  • 0-100 Round 6.5 secs, not bad

  • Ralliart magna Vs Supercharged HSV commie Vs AU II XR6 Go read the wheels mag of 02..... Magna Kicks there asres in every run and every thing thrown at it.

  • the only thing i wonder bout when i see this is whether or not you're going downhill. I know of sum1 to get his stock 93 TR (auto) to 240km/h on a downhill slope, i just wondered where this footage was shot :D 5 stars for your fine taste in cars!

  • yeh, it's a straight, flat and non decending bit of road.

Also, from 200+ if the sunroof is open, it wont fully close until you stop accelerating. It get's 90% of the way (sliding in between the roof and ceiling) and the part where it pops up and aligns with the rest of the roof, it cant do the final bit.... must be a bit of downforce and serious wind at those speeds.

  • Ralliart Magna's have no problem reaching 240km/h. There's a big difference between them and a 93 TR Magna. lol.

  • i know i was just saying some people do, but this person didnt, furthermore he did it with a faulty sunroof which would screw up wind resistance, restecpa!

  • Thats how you drive a Ralliart!

  • fyi, I didnt really post this vid to brag or anything - just didnt see any other ralliart 0-200 vids on here (and a lot of people seem to think that "it's just a Magna" - when it's a reasonably quick NA V6), so I thought I'd put one up :-)

  • Let me tell you, the Ralliart Magna was and is a seriously quick V6. I always said Mistu should've beaten Ford and turbocharged this engine. 180kw standard, this car could've blown the XR6 Turbo with at least 250-280kw.

  • nice car, don't get me wrong but man is that slow. nearly 30 seconds to get to 200?? My gsxr gets to 220 in 11 seconds. Still that's the price you pay for 4 wheels over 2

  • Comparing a Auto falcon xr6 with a manual r/art mangna is not really comparring eggs with eggs tho. How much does a ralliart mangna cost compared to a ba xr6 auto?.......as new?

  • I dont think cost has anything to do with it?

It's Mitsu's Performance NA V6 vs FORD's Performance NA V6. But yeh, brand new, these things are a bit expensive.

Probably a good car to compare with right now would be one of those TOYOTA Aurions (I think they have a performance NA version of the car?).

  • just asked the cost question more for curiousity. I know magna's are faster than what most people give them credit for. I own a 3.8 vy commoredore and know that the 3.5 mistsi is a more powerful donk and a magna 3.5 is a faster car. Power output versus fuel efficiency is a totally different story. a 3.8 uses alot less fuel than a a 3.5 for it's power output. But i did enjoy your vid even if it didn't sound like it in my first comment

    .

  • to get it off the line, it was half throttle, half clutch and as soon as it started to roll, let go of clutch completely and full throttle.

  • That's awesome I've gotta try that in my Verada. How did you get it up so fast did you floor it?

  • Ralliarts are awsome I need one,

I think the are P-Plate Legal In NSW

  • yer they are

  • het mate, sick car, can you drive these on you p plates?

  • no idea - im not on P plates

  • yep

  • takes off pretty quick... I think maybe you should have mounted the camera so you could have two hands on the wheel :S... good video though.

  • LOL if he was holding the camera how do you think he changed gears? It's all good I was holding the camera whilst he drove :)

  • Yes, just for the record, the Ralliart Magna (stock) is quicker than a stock BA XR6. From memory the manual could do 0-100 just under 7s, which makes it about half a second quicker than the XR6.

  • nice vid ;)

  • Is a Ralliart any quicker than a stock BA Falcon? Looking at other vids stock auto falcons seem just as quick if not quicker, they do have more grunt.

  • And more weight. The stock ralliart does the same quarter mile time as a stock xr6 turbo. Check any review.

  • Dude, check out Doogsters' naturally aspirated xr6 under xr6. Its an auto with just bolt on mods and it hammers. I reckon the Falcon has more potential, Just as high tech with multi valves etc but bigger 4.0l capacity.

  • hey mate great vid can you get a video of you and your bro dragging it off? be good to see the magna win!

  • there was no video of the drag of mine and my brother's car - it was just one of those "moments" where he thought he'd try and take on his older brother.

He doesn't want to go for another run, cos he knows what the outcome will be ;)

  • oh and fyi, this goes harder than my bro's stock xr6 turbo.

The way it goes is, he gets about half a car further than me off the line, then I match up to end of 3rd gear and once in 4th gear I'm accelerating away from him...

  • beating xr6 turbo's now are we? I timed your 0-150km/h at around 15 secs. I doubt you'd keep up with my 95 mont let alone a turbo....

  • i counted 12~13secs from the moment the car started rolling, to the moment it hit 150.

I dont think I need to answer the rest of your post when you clearly havent been reading the history posts.

  • Take off was at 3.5 secs, you can see the needle move. Pause it at 3.5 secs, you can see its moved from 0kph. Then 150kph was reached at 19 secs. Easily 15 secs total, it seemed to take off fast but was dead in the arse after 100kph.....

  • I cant believe I have to point this out to you. Look closer...

at 16~17secs, the needle is dead on 150, at 19secs it's at 160 with a gear change at about 155 (which is at the 17sec mark if you look at the tacho - the sound is a little delayed).

Would you like me to narate the whole video for you? (ie, tell you what speed it's going and in what gear, etc)

  • yeah sorry lol, i was looking at the 160 mark, next time get someone to hold the video camera who isnt having an epileptic fit.

i timed 13 seconds... pretty good... have you taken it over the 1/4 mile yet?

  • not really, but I would expect it to be around what the stock 1/4 mile times are, if not then a little more (cos I wouldnt expect to beat what it says it can do stock, considering I havent modded the car).

Stock standard they say the ralliart does the 1/4 mile in around 14 seconds...

  • yeh, the stock one I have will do 240 on a straight and will stay there (limited at 240).

However, I once went down a hill that goes for a few KM and got it to about 245 and the engine cuts off - then comes back on again around 220 with a big jolt.

Saying that, I got a recording (too big to put on here) of the fuel usage as it reaches 240.

basically it uses around 39 to 40L/100KM up to 200 flat out, from there, it slowly drops down to 20L/100KM once it reaches 240...

  • i had a 2002 magna sports 5spd with an exhuast and computer and i did 235 which is were the speed limiter is set at. Check out my video of my burnout. Just littl one. Lataz

  • well my ralliart goes 190 something, and thats cuz i let off the pedal becuase i didnt know what my tires where rated for. it was also the first time i have been that fast in a car, call me a sissy but ill leave the real tests for the mods to be added later :P

  • its in km/hr

  • UH YEAH IT IS ... DRRR

  • Wat du u think its a japenese car n plus its in australia n how many magners u see MPH ??

  • Magna's are not japanese. The ralliart magna was factory made entirely in australia.

  • Not bad at all for a stock Ralliart Magna. This engine has sooo much potential, and a turbocharged version would have definitely stolen the Falcon XR6 Turbo's thunder...

  • Jeebus, see the needle jump to 60kph almost instantly. Far out.

  • Thats cos it must have got a fair bit of wheelspin off the mark. Otherwise it goes from 0-60 in 1 second.
