listen.clana and clois are both totally different couples, and are good in their own way.although i hated clana breakups but lana's relationship with clark has always been sweet and sad and full of sacrifices. On the other hand clois relationship has been strong naughty and fit together like a puzzle piece.

Is this the last scene of lana in the series? I only started watching the show, read that lana leaves the series for good in the 8 season or - is this the part where she leaves because of her having powers too or?

The writers of this show have given Lana a significance she never had in any of the stories written about Superman. @SlayerBoi1992 More of the answer: Because the producers decided that they weren't going to alter Superman's later life(Clois), it meant that Clana was going to end. That was always the plan. Clark's growth is being traced back to those he LOVES as well as those he LOSES. Clark's fear of losing people is tied to actual losses (Jor-El, Lara, Jonathan Kent, Alicia, Lana) which in turn has kept him vacillating between being Clark and being Kal-El. TO BE CONTINUED.
@SlayerBoi1992 Rest of the answer: I don't think it should have taken nearly eight seasons to resolve the Clana storyline. I think that was bad plotting. It gave fans false hope for an ending that was never in the cards. The reality is that some of the great love stories involve star-crossed lovers or a great love that ends tragically. The pain of the end of love haunts us and causes us to dwell on that love more than if that love continued. I hope this makes sense.
@daeuri your totaly right, i get what your saying i just think that if they were planning on doing the superman series like the rest of them, why even have a Lana Lang.. from day one Lois should have been his interest like Lana was from day one. It's just sad to see in TV anymore characters that grow on you and you love just get wiped clean and pushed to the side thats all i'm trying to say. I just hate how all these Smallville characters won't be making an exit in the series finale =(
@SlayerBoi1992 Smallville isn't like the other series because of the amount of detail created around Clark's adolescence and young adult life. The point isn't that Clark and Lana's relationship ends or that he ends up with Lois. Clark is growing into the man who becomes Superman, and his experiences with both of those women play key parts in that growth. Although I knew at the beginning Clark and Lana would end, I am still glad I got to see the story of their relationship.
@daeuri Part of the issue is the show was supposed to stay in Smallville, but then decided to have the crossover of Clana and Clois by bringing Lois onto the show early. Thing is, I think they did a great job of keeping Clana and Clois separate entities while KK and ED were on the show at the same time PRE-S8. But then this Lana arc of S8 pushed it a step too far I believe. This arc really regressed by Clark and Lana's character growth, making them look all the worse since they were now ADULTS!

I grew up on this show, it's my childhood lol Although, I do miss Lana, because I feel that Lana was in love with the thrill of Superman... not just talking about Smallville itself, but in Superman Returns as well.

What you can see in this Power final scene is Lna telling Clark that NOW she can be with him.After she gained the powers.As you can remember in Season 7 Clark was very disappointed that Lana even when she knew about his secret , still couldn't support him and share the life with him as a loving couple.Clark stopped her from leaving him.He was giving everybody so many chances.As he said in season 6 - "Lana is not the same girl that I falled in love at highschool".

It was important for Clark to see Lana as a real person (flaws and all) for their relationship to make it. They tried to make a go of it in S7, but it failed terribly. So Lana leaving in S7 made sense. But coming back in S8 thinking this power suit was the solution to their problems was MISGUIDED to say the least!

Just like what Clark felt. They had MUTUAL strong feelings. "The course of True Love never runs smoothly". That probably fits what Clana had.
Superman successfully destroyed it but first he asked Lana to remove it.Angry Lana refused and then she activated Kryptonite that infected the Earth atmosphere.Later she was trying to explain that she has done it to protect Earth in case Superman gone evil.Clark visited her one day and said that he never had doubts about which women he should choose.He said that Lois would never do something like this and that she was , is and will be the only one for him.It was the end of Clark\Lana friendship.

Tom Welling and Erica Durance created a real , adult couple and their chemistry wa beating Clana even in seasons 4-7 when they weren't a couple. Clana was so boring because of the very weak chemistryThats why writers were breaking their relationship so many times .They knew that even a half of the season would be too much..

I'm not a huge Clark and Lana fan or even a huge Clark and Lois fan I was always more of a Clark and Chloe fan lol but even I have to admit this scene is really beautiful I've never understood why it's so hated amongst fans! As much as I dislike Lana, Tom and Kristin have some crazy chemistry waaay more than Tom and Erica no offence they've certainly had some cute moments

He always wanted someone to, as he said in REQUIEM, "share his life with, to work with him side by side". With Lana being all he really knew, he would think she was his future. But Clark was ignoring all the drama and pain that got them to that point. Saying "what they had was beautiful" was about as deep in denial as he could get! B/c what they had was NOT beautiful!

Not just KK. But Lex Luthor too, and I forgot to mention that after season 7. The show had new exec producers and the original show creators/developers left the show. This started the death clock for the show. Its a shame.
One thing I just find annoying is the sudden leave of KK's character. First of all, its sad to adjust after her involvement on the show for 8 seasons. If you want to seperate them both for Clois. Let the signs of the relationship failure to happen in 10 episodes or something. There are restrictions on TV series, but at least show that before killing a character off. I just do not like the new show at all now.
Believe it or not guys. Can you explain why the show has survived until now? There are many, the Clana couple romance, Lex Luthor and all the other good stuff. Now when the main cast started to leave the show (negative response from the show producers or the casts dissatisfaction since the developers left the show around Season 7). Despite this, the show had solid ratings when Clana and Lex were around. But when Clana was split and Lex. It is no wonder that the shows rating have dropped.
@ExTreMzoR Part of the ratings loss is the move to Friday nights, which started in S9. It makes since it would lose ratings just b/c of that reason. But even when Lana and Lex left at end of S7, the show enjoyed success with it's new direction in S8. I know Lana arc got high ratings, but that is expected since fans knew it was the end of her character, plus Lex was a part of that storyline as well, so it is natural ratings would go up b/c of closing the chapter on 2 of the original main stars.
@drlee2 oh wow, so it is NATURAL when it works against CLANA AND LANA story arc, but you cant blame lois for the LOSS or the constant DROP in the ratings!
one fact shines out through all of this,,, CLANA and LANA sustained for EIGHT YEARS despite the crap that the show put them through, when clois is HEAVY, and everything is HANDED to them, it couldnt get past TWO YEARS! THAT is a fact despite ratings are GOOD for any party or NOT!

Clark was infatuated with Lana (like Clark with Lois in the mythos), but she really didn't notice him at first and thought of him as awkward, but a mysterious figure would always save her and she was intrigued by it (just like Superman saving Lois). But then the relationship went off the rails after Season 3!

Lex Luthor, Lionel Luthor, Lucy Lane, Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Lori Lemaris, and I don't know why. Lois was technically created first, but Lana is known as Clark's first love, but Lois is his soul mate.

@eleidich The truth is somewhere in the middle. Clark was in love with Lana (and may still be here), but it doesn't mean he truly wants a future with her. This entire scene, he is hesitant and something is definitely holding him back from Lana. Clark may not necessarily be in love with Lois at this moment, but he DOES have feelings for her, but the depth of his feelings may not be as deep as for Lana. This scene reminds me of the saying "Be careful of what you wish for...you just might get it!"
@eleidich Well, I interpreted what you said as that Clois was meant to be based on the mythos and Clana wasn't, but I was pointing out that Clois on SMALLVILLE is better than Clana not because of the mythos, but because on the show, Clana's relationship was never really a solid one in many ways; there was always mutual mistrust and they fought constantly when they were together, never really content with just being together, whereas Clois has always been more balanced.

Lois loved Superman, but Clark was her best friend. She eventually dated Clark and fell in love with him. She didn't know he was Superman when he proposed and accepted. Apparently, you know nothing.

I'm not even gonna address the sex thing, because I personally believe you should only have sex when you're married. And my future statement still holds up, because it had to have happened first.

listen.clana and clois are both totally different couples, and are good in their own way.although i hated clana breakups but lana's relationship with clark has always been sweet and sad and full of sacrifices. On the other hand clois relationship has been strong naughty and fit together like a puzzle piece.

The writers of this show have given Lana a significance she never had in any of the stories written about Superman. @SlayerBoi1992 More of the answer: Because the producers decided that they weren't going to alter Superman's later life(Clois), it meant that Clana was going to end. That was always the plan. Clark's growth is being traced back to those he LOVES as well as those he LOSES. Clark's fear of losing people is tied to actual losses (Jor-El, Lara, Jonathan Kent, Alicia, Lana) which in turn has kept him vacillating between being Clark and being Kal-El. TO BE CONTINUED.

@SlayerBoi1992 Rest of the answer: I don't think it should have taken nearly eight seasons to resolve the Clana storyline. I think that was bad plotting. It gave fans false hope for an ending that was never in the cards. The reality is that some of the great love stories involve star-crossed lovers or a great love that ends tragically. The pain of the end of love haunts us and causes us to dwell on that love more than if that love continued. I hope this makes sense.

@daeuri your totaly right, i get what your saying i just think that if they were planning on doing the superman series like the rest of them, why even have a Lana Lang.. from day one Lois should have been his interest like Lana was from day one. It's just sad to see in TV anymore characters that grow on you and you love just get wiped clean and pushed to the side thats all i'm trying to say. I just hate how all these Smallville characters won't be making an exit in the series finale =(

@SlayerBoi1992 Smallville isn't like the other series because of the amount of detail created around Clark's adolescence and young adult life. The point isn't that Clark and Lana's relationship ends or that he ends up with Lois. Clark is growing into the man who becomes Superman, and his experiences with both of those women play key parts in that growth. Although I knew at the beginning Clark and Lana would end, I am still glad I got to see the story of their relationship.

@daeuri Part of the issue is the show was supposed to stay in Smallville, but then decided to have the crossover of Clana and Clois by bringing Lois onto the show early. Thing is, I think they did a great job of keeping Clana and Clois separate entities while KK and ED were on the show at the same time PRE-S8. But then this Lana arc of S8 pushed it a step too far I believe. This arc really regressed by Clark and Lana's character growth, making them look all the worse since they were now ADULTS!

However, I'd ask your group to consider something: What is the percentage of the 2 opposition groups that frequent their opposite group's YouTube SV videos and post comments that are confrontational in context?. Another point, which group's member self-recorded a "rant" video directed at their opposition group? I've seen a pattern online that's clear during the past yr.

What you can see in this Power final scene is Lna telling Clark that NOW she can be with him.After she gained the powers.As you can remember in Season 7 Clark was very disappointed that Lana even when she knew about his secret , still couldn't support him and share the life with him as a loving couple.Clark stopped her from leaving him.He was giving everybody so many chances.As he said in season 6 - "Lana is not the same girl that I falled in love at highschool".

It was important for Clark to see Lana as a real person (flaws and all) for their relationship to make it. They tried to make a go of it in S7, but it failed terribly. So Lana leaving in S7 made sense. But coming back in S8 thinking this power suit was the solution to their problems was MISGUIDED to say the least!

So -Suuuuumaaa - don't even try to compare Clana to Clois.Clois is a legendary love , the unconditional one and Clana - for me in Smallville she betrayed Clark similar like the comic's one.She went to bed with Lex and told him that she loved him.That was the one of many things which proves how weak was the feeling between Clark and Lana.And when she gained powers in Wrath she wanted to kill Clark.Who knows what could happen if he didn't take his powers from her.And that was the love?

Just like what Clark felt. They had MUTUAL strong feelings. "The course of True Love never runs smoothly". That probably fits what Clana had.

Superman successfully destroyed it but first he asked Lana to remove it.Angry Lana refused and then she activated Kryptonite that infected the Earth atmosphere.Later she was trying to explain that she has done it to protect Earth in case Superman gone evil.Clark visited her one day and said that he never had doubts about which women he should choose.He said that Lois would never do something like this and that she was , is and will be the only one for him.It was the end of Clark\Lana friendship.

Tom Welling and Erica Durance created a real , adult couple and their chemistry wa beating Clana even in seasons 4-7 when they weren't a couple. I'm not a huge Clark and Lana fan or even a huge Clark and Lois fan I was always more of a Clark and Chloe fan lol but even I have to admit this scene is really beautiful I've never understood why it's so hated amongst fans! As much as I dislike Lana, Tom and Kristin have some crazy chemistry waaay more than Tom and Erica no offence they've certainly had some cute moments

He always wanted someone to, as he said in REQUIEM, "share his life with, to work with him side by side". With Lana being all he really knew, he would think she was his future. But Clark was ignoring all the drama and pain that got them to that point. Saying "what they had was beautiful" was about as deep in denial as he could get! B/c what they had was NOT beautiful!

One thing I just find annoying is the sudden leave of KK's character. First of all, its sad to adjust after her involvement on the show for 8 seasons. If you want to seperate them both for Clois. Let the signs of the relationship failure to happen in 10 episodes or something. There are restrictions on TV series, but at least show that before killing a character off. I just do not like the new show at all now.

Believe it or not guys. Can you explain why the show has survived until now? There are many, the Clana couple romance, Lex Luthor and all the other good stuff. Now when the main cast started to leave the show (negative response from the show producers or the casts dissatisfaction since the developers left the show around Season 7). Despite this, the show had solid ratings when Clana and Lex were around. But when Clana was split and Lex. It is no wonder that the shows rating have dropped.

@ExTreMzoR Part of the ratings loss is the move to Friday nights, which started in S9. It makes since it would lose ratings just b/c of that reason. But even when Lana and Lex left at end of S7, the show enjoyed success with it's new direction in S8. I know Lana arc got high ratings, but that is expected since fans knew it was the end of her character, plus Lex was a part of that storyline as well, so it is natural ratings would go up b/c of closing the chapter on 2 of the original main stars.

Clark was infatuated with Lana (like Clark with Lois in the mythos), but she really didn't notice him at first and thought of him as awkward, but a mysterious figure would always save her and she was intrigued by it (just like Superman saving Lois). But then the relationship went off the rails after Season 3!

Lex Luthor, Lionel Luthor, Lucy Lane, Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Lori Lemaris, and I don't know why. Lois was technically created first, but Lana is known as Clark's first love, but Lois is his soul mate.

@eleidich The truth is somewhere in the middle. Clark was in love with Lana (and may still be here), but it doesn't mean he truly wants a future with her. This entire scene, he is hesitant and something is definitely holding him back from Lana. Clark may not necessarily be in love with Lois at this moment, but he DOES have feelings for her, but the depth of his feelings may not be as deep as for Lana. This scene reminds me of the saying "Be careful of what you wish for...you just might get it!"

@eleidich Well, I interpreted what you said as that Clois was meant to be based on the mythos and Clana wasn't, but I was pointing out that Clois on SMALLVILLE is better than Clana not because of the mythos, but because on the show, Clana's relationship was never really a solid one in many ways; there was always mutual mistrust and they fought constantly when they were together, never really content with just being together, whereas Clois has always been more balanced.

Lois is the only one equipped to be with Superman, except Wonder Woman in the future when Lois dies. Look at this clip. Lana felt that she had to change herself completely to be with Clark. Lois is strong enough all by herself. Lana's not enough by herself. Never was. It was all psycho puppy love.

@Suuuuumaaa What are you talking about? She didn't think he was The Blur in season 8 and most of 9. When she took that lie detector test and said she loved him and she didn't know who The Blur was. Smallville is one of the rare occasions in where Lois fell in love with Clark first. And they always had a spark, ever since she first appeared. Clark as The Blur asking Lois to keep his secret and then Clark keeping secrets was their only bump. Now they're the couple their meant to be.

@Suuuuumaaa They were going strong, even with keeping a little mystery but Clark put Lois in a position as The Blur and told her to keep secrets for him. Then Clark had secrets and wanted Lois to tell him her secrets while she knew he had them. I personally thought the writers handled all that sloppy. I don't mind criticizing them. I do it a lot, but please realize that The Blur=Clark. The only person who could mess up Lois and Clark is Clark. Keeping Lois in the dark was gonna keep them apart.

Smallville has a lot of flaws as far as competent story telling period, but I've enjoyed it as a whole. If you think I hated Lana that much, then I would have stopped watching it a long time ago. Then his memory was restored and then he married her again in a kryptonian ceremony. Silver Age comics, Clark Kent is the dominant personality and Superman is what he does. Lois loved Superman, but Clark was her best friend. She eventually dated Clark and fell in love with him. She didn't know he was Superman when he proposed and accepted. Apparently, you know nothing.

He can't live in Smallville and be "The Blur" forever. It's time to end the show, that has nothing to do with Clois. It's just time, even though I'll miss it. They built a friendship and then they fell in love. That sounds like a great way to find your soul mate, plus that's comic consistent.

I always thought it was, but that has nothing to do with Clois. It's the writers sticking to "Smallville is a story about Clark Kent" and no tights no flights rule. Smallville does do things that are comic consistent. Clark is gonna marry Lois and Lana will be alone.

@Suuuuumaaa He told Lois that he was "The Blur" in season 8 in "Infamous." Then things went crazy, which wasn't his fault. He said she was "perfect". Season 8, Lois was the only one who could break Clark out of Maxima's spell and she recognized that they had a connection. I'm not even gonna address the sex thing, because I personally believe you should only have sex when you're married. And my future statement still holds up, because it had to have happened first.

In Reckoning, Lex found out cuz she went to see him and it resulted in her death which resulted in Clark changing time, which resulted in Lois almost dying and Johnathan dying. Then when she found out his secret again, she eventually screwed over Lex and got powers and he screwed them right back and now they can't be together at all.

@Suuuuumaaa Brainac did not imply he made that future for Clark. He used a Legion ring, so he moved in time. He showed him that because Clark has fears about the future as far as his destiny and his relationship. With everything that happened with Lana, he's being cautious. Lois is being too cautious because of Oliver and Aquaman and whoever! It's not unreasonable. It doesn't matter what he did tell Lana. He's moved on and told Lois that she's the one he "always needed." That kind of settles it.

And I think Erica and Tom have so much chemistry. He told Lois last season that he she was the one that he "always needed". He came to that realization prior. I haven't taken back any of my statements, Clark did have fear. He always has fears about himself and will probably have them until the last episode.
