  • cool pick

  • Thi has been flagges as spam

  • stalker o.o

  • Why are all of the comments spamed?

  • my friend... it doesnt effect the sound, it depends on what position guitar you are playing, the rounded tips make it easier to play on more than one string at one time.... the pointy ones are for lead....which focus around one string... it does not effect sound

  • that was a cool video. i like this cause you can customize it, and shape it like anything you want. THANKS.

  • cool.

but personally i like emery-like grip surface picks, and you cant make them yourself.

and you cant make it exactly in the same Thickness that you want. so actually if you buy a pick you get something that more feet for you, then actuality make one. but still i think i make one just for fun.where you get the plastic?

  • You can make some out of that clear plastic for packaging. Use plastic not too thin and not too thick. You can find pieces or maby get some plastics at some craft shops or plastic suppliers.

  • use the like, old membership cards.... its about teh thickness of a real guitar pick, i used a marsh card to make one

  • HAHA how bored were you!? I might try that.

  • awesome

  • Its fun to make a pick. Some people are can even wind pickups, etc, that most people will never do, but most of us can make a pick of their own design.

  • Like washing your car. You have a choice of paying a machine to do it, paying to use a hose, or just doing it yourself the right way.

  • Or, if you must buy a pick, you can still customize it. I think Fender is still one of the rare companies that makes those celluloid (a natural plastic made from plants..read up on that process!). The look like and are an imitation tortois shell and are said to be nearly indistinguishible from the real thing. Modern picks are all kinds of materials since tortois shell was all that was avail. long ago. and is not necessary to any extent.

  • Save yourself eight minutes. Read this: 1. Use your marker to trace a guitar pick onto the plastic card

    2. Cut out the guitar pick shape

    3. Smooth the edges with a nail file.

  • i found ice cream container work awsome cause there not to hard or soft nd the dont break...

  • This makes me want to fall asleep man. Best 8 and a half minutes i've spent in a long while sir. Good job.

  • you could just buy a pick

  • I've tried the plastic used for CD material, and its a very thick and hard plastic. It works but I dont recommend it. It also has some brittleness to it and will usually crack. Old plastic from records can also be used, but its somewhat similar to cd plastic, but not as hard.

  • use an old library card

  • well .. isn't it too soft ? and one more thing ... how do you add a cstom model ? just with a marker or something ?

  • depends on the material/plastic used. If a pick material is too soft for guitar it might be good for power chords or bass guitar. Some people like picks that can bend a bit. I'm not sure how to label picks, maby some kind of permanent ink or paint. Draw your custom pick shape onto paper, then glue to the plastic and cut out.

  • what's the point of the paper? :S couldn't you just draw a pick shape on ap iece of plastic and cut it out, smoothen the edges and it's done?

  • that would be ok too.

  • lol, never thought of that. you are genius.

  • I do this - you can make 6 picks in the time it took him to do 1. Take 1)a 'free' credit card the banks mail you, or 2) One of those blank 'gift card' credit cards that shops display near the checkout counter. Take a guitar pick, lay it on the card, & trace around it using an extra-fine Sharpie pen. You can usually fit 6 on a card. Than take scissors and cut out the picks. I dont even bother sanding them out - the rough edges wears off after a song or two anyway.

Try my method - its easy.

  • mrimsoperfect.. i thought this video was great. it could be fun to make your own pick. and it gives you plenty of options of how u want it. like thickness and shape.. cool video btw:)

  • I would perfer to buy my own pick only becuase i'm very UNCREATIVE! lol i'm terrible at arts and crafts but don't worry about the haters man keep up the good work and thanks for the vids!

  • thanx

i will explain why thuis is so usefull

im a almost full time musician and i always lose my picks when i am at my house and when i want to play guitar there's no one around

the nearest music store is too far to go and i always play at night when everithing is close

so better do some picks to lose break or whatever

sorry about my bad english im from chile

  • Hey sure we can all buy a pick, but we can also buy a CD filled with

good music for a few bux rather than try to create our own material.

Some people have idle hands and it would be a good idea for them to

go make some picks, even if they cant play a single note on a guitar.

I want to see pockets full of picks.

  • Interesting video, but is 8:37 minutes really worth a pick? I don't know maybe $0.50 = 8.37 but I'd rather spend that time playing with the pick instead of making one.

  • And sorry if my last comment seemed offensive because it shouldn't.

  • and at least u know its a good pick not a crap one that you made.

  • Thanks for this i don't understnad why people leave bad comments you jsut put this up for the people interested they should be thanking you even if they don't like it

  • its not worth fightin they know it gets to us so dont waste time scolding them for THEM wasting THIER time

and besides people are entitled to their own opinions

  • i didnt watch this vid but the easiest thing to do is cut up an old credit card to make a guitar pick its just as good as a reggular medium pick and its better then paper

  • credit card material makes very good picks also, however they do not last very long due to the type of material.

  • what was... the paper for?

  • The paper was for to draw or trace a pick pattern onto. The paper is then glued to the pick material with craft/white glue; and the pick is then cut out before the glue compeletely drys.

  • I'd rather just pay 50p, I don't like the look of that one.

  • aw man... I wanted to see you actually use it. U know, here the sound.

  • I make mine out of glue and then eat them OMGWTFBBQ!!!!111

  • i have that picture :D :D :D

  • cool1now i dotn have to spend money on pics!

  • right about that, but the vid demonstrates how to make a pick that you cannot buy altogether. For example I have made picks that have been thick at the back end and then tapered/beveled th in all the way to the tip. With the right plastic, etc, you can make a pick that sounds as good or betther than genuine tortoise shell; which is an endangered species; please don't buy these picks.

  • Nice Tutorial

  • good job man

  • good tutorial. well done

  • That is awesome, I am going to make 1 with my school's logo on it and sell them. Great Vid!
