Yep, PoPping indeed! These days I'm helping out the Forgotten Sands folks here and there (the PoP that comes out next spring) along with our own game for later.
I keep watching your Let's Plays semi-religiously. You have some deliciously whacky stuff in your collection, some of which I can't muster the dedication to blast through myself, but am very happy to watch someone else torment themselves with. :)
Alas no, After coming back from overseas, my work heavily downsized by getting rid of our entire department So I was out of work for about a month and now I work the overnight shift of a cheque processing place. Other then this week of terror that I went through the hours are quite reasonable and other then doing alot of Let's Playing lately It's going to give me time to actually hammer out a good folio to apply for jobs with, So I guess that's progress.
Basically my first plan is to redo my Youtube front page, and while that sounds kinda odd, I'm actually going to use it as a 3D modelling practice to redo all the characters on there in 3D and then some. From there I can pick my favourite models to rig up and animate. ^^
I'm really looking forward to your PoP just because I'm curious to see how Genie's Curse could have played even a small inspiration in it. ^^ Oh and you'll be sad that you missed the stream where I played your last PoP. ;p
I heartily encourage you to practice your 3D hand and use YouTube as your sounding board.
By all means. I might not know you very well, but by your Let's Plays alone it's beyond obvious that the "overnight shift at a cheque processing place" is not exactly tapping your full potential. :)
Sorry about missing that stream. I frequent YouTube on uneven hours, and can't easily keep up with Australian time zones. :)
Truth to be told, at Ubi Montreal we're not all that fond of PoP 2008. It's fun for the first two hours, and then gets monstrously repetitive. It seriously underdelivered on its own ambitions (production mayhem... typical) and commercially didn't do great for us either. So expect the next entries to diverge significantly both in tone and pacing...
Well it is beautiful and I really like it being about getting from place to place even if the story is a bit confusing and has a WTF moment here and there... But again. Extremely beautiful. Almost enough Beauty to make my eyes Bleed. ;p
Zork-as-tri-a-nism.
It's a play on Zoroastrianism, the religion used in ancient Persia. Pffff, the stuff you get to learn working on the Prince of thereof. :)
