Im there HALO, i will miss those launches.....i could watch them blast off from my front porch all the way in tampa bay area...i noticed on that sim however that the shuttle always seemed to be flying rightside up, with respect to the earths orientation...not so. it has to fly upside down to kool off the shuttle....the cargo doors have to act as a kind of space radiator.

Space is dangerous, now I can see better in this space shuttle astronaut and think deeply as in the game. Easily the fact could not be 100% operassional and could die within a blink of an eye. Now in simulators is that it happens, what should we do in an emergency? In space things can be beautiful and unique but the fear is the unexpected happen. :( but I'm not prohibit anyone from going there floating in space one day, until it's funny, what is needed is to have enough money to travel on Virgin

I have space shuttle mission it is expensive but it does do a very good Job of the simulation infact everything is simulated and that means over 3,000 switches work. it does like take over an hour just to get everything ready. When the space shuttle program ends later this year i will certainly miss it they might be the most expensive object to run but they have helped many people as a result of succesful experiments and helped bring countries closer together as a result of the ISS.

It's a shame Microsoft didn't think to remove the 2666kt ground speed limit in FSX.. (approx Mach 5), which had been around since at least FS2002!

To be fair to Microsoft, this is a flight simulator, intended to model non-space flight vehicles. Since the fastest plane (Blackbird) was only capable of about Mach 3.5, a speed limit of Mach 5 isn't too bogus. Besides, part of it is probably the physics simulation. If the objects start moving to fast, it is very likely that they would simply pass through each other, rather than collide in a simulator, so some speed limit is probably necessary to maintain playability.

Very nice video, but FSX is essentialy an atmospheric flight simulation program. If you like space simulation, go to the moon, mars, etc... download orbiter, its free!

Orbiter is very, very hard. It took me about three months of practice to land sucesfully in the moon, and about five months to land in mars. There aren't a lot of tutorials about it, so it becomes it more difficult.

Download the mods for the game searching "orbiter hangar" and entering the first page.

One essential mod is the ship "DeltaGlider IV", for example.

However, if you want to play it, i advise: it is very, very difficult. It take me some days to put a ship in orbit, some months to go to the moon and aproximattely six months to land in mars. Is difficult, but very interesting too. If you want to download it, search "orbiter" in google. Download some essential mods in "orbiter hangar" (search in google). Finally, I recommend you to read some tutorials, you will need them. Good luck!
