hello sir i was wondering if i should metal detect on a few orchards right by my house that german pows worked on...please send a respone and any helpful tips. thanks!
@thebestsk8r123 I did a little research on this...unlikely you'll find anything you can positively ID as "German POW", they were paid in US money, wore US clothing, housed in barracks more than jail cells. These were largely "non-politically motivated grunts" who were glad to get out of the war zone rather than a chain-gang forced labor type thing. Always worth a look any land you can get access too, never know what you'll find.
@roadkillscjim Okay well thanks for researching that! ill look anyways and see what i can find! people have been there for a hundred years im sure somthing could have dropped..ill let you know if i find anything. sorry but one more thing, can i detect in the winter? with 2 inches of snow on the ground?
@boddeus YUP, WW-2 relics in the US :-) It's an airbase that was used for training and staging, built in 1942, bulldozed flat in early 1946, now mostly open woods. Means not just military artifacts, but a very limited time range 1942-1945. The hunt for the POW part is ongoing, more hunts there this winter...and more FOIA requests to wait on.
My grandpa fought their and said he lost his dog tag their what's the lastname on it and my grandpa back in the time lived their and yes it's prison cells they held germans in their till they told them where their group of Nazis were held message back
I went to a German POW camp near my home in TN and I had the same trouble with finding the camp. I was thinking it was built like a jail but since it was built to hold low risk prisoners it was more like a normal US army camp. They only used the camp at night because the prisoners worked in the local farms in groups of 12 with only 2 guards alot of times they were alowed to stay with the families. Anyway, I found 3 silver German coins, some German uniform buttons, bullets, but nothing much else.
i think your vids r the most entertaining ive found yet......keep em comin dude i need all the comedy i can get seein we got about 7 inches of snow layin around and no end in sight

Excellent vid Jimer. How can I find out where that secret location is? Do have any other videos that give more details to these locations? I am still pulling big penneys from that one you gave me in Ohio! Can't wait for the spring thaw so I can get back at it. Still have snow on the ground here.. Shave and a hair cut 5 cents. Da da the da da, da da........
Excellent video and detective work Jim. Kept my attention throughout..... Great relics and conclusions you come to after finding them. .......nice work !.............Bill.
WTG Jim! AMAZING video. I learned a bunch of stuff and really liked seeing the relics you found. Was the lat and lon on the toilet for your location or somewhere else?
Cool finds Jim! I found a German button at a POW Camp in Michigan. If you hit my channel I have a cheesy video slideshow of past finds and it's in there. Oh yeah, nice haircut!
