I was at this gig, must only have been a few meters away from you as i was at the front aswell. Modest mouse were great as a 3 piece band, adding other members hasn't improved their sound at all- not that it needed improving anyway.
i agree, hes a bit of a smug bastard. i spoke to him outside at the end (of this gig) and he seemed ok, but i noticed he left before the rest of the band on his own. i dont think they like him as much as they make out; he turned his amp right up so that (from where i was at least) thats pretty much all you could hear. in my eyes the smiths are nothing compared to the greatness of modest mouse, he needs to accept that hes not the main man anymore.
also i got a drum stick at the end and got them all to sign it...as johnny marr came out first he was the first to sign it, and then i got the rest of the guys to sign it after that. the strange thing is i noticed the drummer drew a wierd line and wrote a symbol or something. it was only when i got home that i noticed hed drawn an arrow to johnny marr's signature and writen the word "H8" (i.e. hate).
their new stuff isnt bad either its just that they were such a tight group back then its hard to see them change their style

(CONTINUED RANT)

my conclusion:
no one likes johnny marr.
peace out, PJ

I meant "badman" as a compliment... like "badass"... but, yes. That is quite worrying.
