tom is amazing and horribly underated..probably it will take the rest of the world another 20 years to realize this. See ya at downtown kathy browns oct 28 for ur show tom
does anyone know that tune from him the line goes ....."going to the graveyard going to cast of my stone".....not sure what the tune is called but its a good 1....
Canada has talent...just cause we dont have money or air time like the states we should never be left to rot, our music is like hockey is to the world, never forget that.
@wtfboooom You live in Edmonton, sry about your luck but little wonder you don't know the difference between hip hop and rock. Let me guess though, you're idea of rock is, hmm let me see, METALLICA!?
@Ha7oc You could do a hell of a lot worse then Hamilton my friend. It is an honest place, a lot of good people come out of there, so don't hate on what you don't know....
I forgot the project he did with Bob Lanois, Daniel's brother. That one is called "The Shack Recordings" I had my hands on it, but never got to give it a listen.
Canadians are sending Obama a list of tunes that define Canada. Go to the CBC website to vote or call 1-877-222-8166 (Press: 1) and vote for SHINE by JUNKHOUSE.
I love this song! You should check out another one of their (Junkhouse's) songs from 1993 called "Out Of My Head". I think "Shine" and "Out Of My Head" are their best songs.
Is this the radio edit version? Who's idea to cut the song, to what, save 15 seconds? Guy in editing should be fired. That's like editing the Bells out of Hell's Bells. This song is a classic!
First song I learned on harmonica. Harp tabs in the key of 'D': -4,-5,-4,-3,3,3... 3,-3,3...3,4,3... -4,-5,-4,-5,-4,-3,-4... -5,5,4,-4... -5,5,-5,5,4,-5 (2,3,4). So to help you out the '-' is draw and otherwise it's blow. The (2,3,4) are blown through at the same time and is the remainder of the song. The high squeal at the end is repeatedly drawn through 5 with a hard bend. Took me a couple days to hammer it out.
: ) Great band, thanks for the video, any chance of a reunion for another album or tour, or is that water under the bridge. I'm surprised that they didn't make it bigger.
Wow. Awesome tune, awesome vocals. Some friends and I get together most Tuesdays for a kitchen jam, and we almost always wind up playing this song at some point. It's classic.
Totally. My dog was still alive, and Beavis and Butthead was still on TV, and the music was dying yet still had soul left until it hit the 2000's. Now everything sucks. Global Warming, rap, hollywood. I'm frikken pissed off now that you mention it.
About the parts filmed in the tunnel, is that in Vancouver, or maybe Victoria? I remember seeing something on MuchMusic many years ago that talked about filming a video in a tunnel that seems like this one, and that was in Vancouver, or Victoria. I think I've also seen it used as a setting in Stargate SG-1 or Andromeda, both of which filmed in Vancouver. Can anybody shed some light?
this always takes me back to when I used to work the produce section in the local Dominion and this would always come on the radio. everytime I hear this song I'm taken back there.
I love song! Yea . We all get to shine in the New Jerusalem.

they play this crap on k97 in edmonton AB, on a "classic rock" station.. since when did a hip hop beat on a 1997 song qualify as classic rock?
