  • iyan pong buhok na yan hati sa gitna ang tinatawag naming new wave look...

  • I saw this once on MTV back in '85, never again, but the song always stayed in my head. Always knew who and what. I remembered seeing "Oblivious" before this and thought the band had a unique sound for the time. Great to hear this again after all these years!

  • If you Like this Band, Look at Nick Haywood, Squeeze, Matt Bianco, Level 42, Basia Haircut 100(Nick Haywood again

  • いや、ほんとRoddyってやばいくらい美形でしたよね。

  • Sounds like Boy George

  • 心地いい、このネオアコ・サニー・ビート、アズテック・カメラの"ALL I NEED IS EVERYTHING"~頑張るスコッチマン、ロディ!

  • I saw them in Kansas City in 1983 with Elvis Costello. Amazing.

  • I had a huge crush on Roddy as a teenager....there's just something about a scottish accent and that voice....!

  • Bought the 12 inch version with poster of lyrics.

  • absolutely fantastic!! this is a great song by a great artist. it is also amazing how the song or rather, the way in which Roddy sings it is SO similar to the way Paul Weller sings.

i listen to this one hundred times and then i click right to Weller's songs in the style council.

  • simply great song for Aztec Camera, very good band and the best music

  • Not really.. :)

  • I've always liked how the first chorus moves straight into 'The size of the sea and the sun in my eyes and the wine in my head'. Lovely .

  • What train station was this video filmed at? I know it must be a station on the northern line :)

Great song, man, they don't make tunes like that these days...all bands today sound rather derivative sadly

  • The bands that Scotland have, it is wonderful: Aztec Camera, Orange Juice, Scars, Josef K :)

  • This is the only song I ever had to buy immediately after hearing it on the radio

  • another boy wonder from the 80s....roddy had the whole package...incredible song writing, lyricist ,outstanding guitarist..and killer looks. Sad that their talent didnt reach where it should. Funny coz nowadays you dont even need talents or looks to make it huge..long live the 80s.....

  • excelente videoooooo!!!!

  • muy lindooo!!

  • 7 peaople are human, 191 153 are to

  • @AlbanianMan. I live in CA and I know them.. They have good music. How men are is the best song in my opinion.

  • Music for the soul. Great tune. Great lyrics. Oblivious was my favourite Aztec Camera song, but this was brilliant too.

  • Well MKECBS1 if you'd any inkling of Knopfler's career you'd have found he produced this as well as the album Knife on which you can find it; so not as disgraceful as you may first think. Maybe you need to open your mind as well as your ears?

  • Well MKECBS1 if you'd any inklink of Knopfler career you'd have found he produced this as well as the album Knife on which you can find. So not as disgraceful as you may first think. Maybe you need to open your mind as well as your ears?

  • Why the shit is this on the Mark Knopfler mix?????? disgraceful

  • Roddy Frame was probably the best kept secret songwriter of that era. And his tunes were spot on as well. The world should have stopped what it was doing and given him full attention- he was that good.

  • I love, love, love, love ,love, love, love this song !! number one on the world in 80' !!!

  • im so fascinated with young Ronny.. im not gay either... LOL love Aztec Camera very much.... thanx for posting this track ,,id never heard of it...

  • this song is in my top 50 of all time

  • Listen Radio Música para Mimos. The best love songs ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. Its great .....!!!!

  • hola

  • Sounds like Boy Georges

  • Funny how they dressed or styled themselves back then, he looks like a wee hairdresser from Queen St.(Near the Rock gardens!)

  • Man how i miss mtv's oldschool days. Hip-hop used to be underground stuff back than man, can you believe it? For me the seventies and eighties were the most easy and experimental periods. electronica was fun and experimental as well till '95 in my opinion, it just feels dead to me nowadays. the trick has been done way too often! I just stick to acoustic singer songwriter stuff lately, some real warmth in there... i like to be warmed =)

  • Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • i tried to get the same haircut like roddys ..it failed..only a boy wonder like roddy fits it...melody and lyrics of this tune is one of the greatest ever! i miss the glory days of music...

  • The boy wonder! The man is even better. Brilliant singer songwriter!

  • one of my favorites

  • Roddy is so adorable!!

  • buena cancion!!!

  • His elegance never gets old. Aztec Camera was almost the new Simon & Garfunkel. Roddy was good but not great after the Knife line-up. Different sound. Philadelphia Soul. Good stuff. Lacked depth...but not this!

  • It was so obvious he was a Bowie fan! and it's just SWEET! By the way, I love Roddy's music!

  • thanks for the sharing this - never seen the video before. and of course you can't get the song on CD, album cut is longer and has a call and response between guitar and keyboards that drags in places.

  • awsome i used to play with the drummers brother in manchester when i was alot younger than now!!! in the 80's that was

  • brit music rocks

  • so far so long in the past......

  • This guy and this track is friggen timesless!!!

  • 懐かしいなー。ロディ若い!

    この曲なんとなく春を感じるんだよね。

  • Miss you Gerryboy!!!!

  • @michgibbs1

    everyday Gerryboy....RIP

  • i have a cassette tape of this album..one of the greatest songs ever written for me in that era ..very,very nostalgic..really takes me back...

  • Man, does this bring back memories. Roddy Frame still makes me weak. A bit of a prodigy at the time, if I recall he was quite young when Aztec Camera started out. Brilliant lyricist..."you...would consecrate the ground I paced in pain..." amazing.

  • I saw Roddy perform live in San Francisco back in the early 80's!!!!! I also got the opportunity to briefly meet him after the show - a VERY NICE chap he was indeed! ... And I have been an American Fan for LIFE since then!!!

  • I'm from Peru and I loved "Somewhere in my heart". I used to listen that song when I was about 12.

  • REUNION TOUR NOWW!

  • PERFECT MUSIC FOR IMPERFECT PEOPLE!

  • Wow. This is a blast from the past. I can safely say I haven't this in 20 years.

  • いい曲発見。

  • just found this out on an old 7" :D

  • Great song indeed...and a great band.

Knife as the first album (vinyl) i bought by them.

I served me well to expand my English vocabulary :)

  • The only song I don't like by Aztec Camera is that awful cover of "Jump" (yes, the original was by Van Halen~ it's on the "Best of A/C" compilation)...

Everything else is amazing... I still own Knife on vinyl... :D

  • I think it was meant to be ironic.

  • Sorry, I still don't like it, ironic or not.... :s

  • OK I think all you motherfuckers lack a sense of humor. IMHO genius spoof. Van halen does blow, just for the record.

  • I'm with you ruby - he's amazing, talented, gorgeous xx

  • He's so pretty, like...he could be KD Lang's little brother. A sweet androgenous look. LOOOOVE his music!

  • My goodness..... what a beautiful, young man he is..... this song is amazing....

    keep playing it.... thanx :)))

  • I'm not jumping to any conclusions here...but I do not believe that you are correct in saying this song sounds like boy George. And if you think so, what Boy George song do you see this being in any comparison of? I ask because, i am a huge boy George fan and a huge Roddy frame fan...And i just don't think that their musical composition styles are that similar.

  • uhm, let me see...mistake no. 2?

  • You mean Mistake # 3 off the waking up with the house on fire album...

  • Ryuichi Sakamoto, producer ??

  • not for this album

  • The producer was Mark Knopfler

  • Don't hate, appreciate!!!!

    p.d. F U !!!

  • Great song from 1984, too bad it never made it in Holland

  • rodd ftw!

  • Its too bad Aztec Camera never made it big here in the states. I seem to be the only person I know who even knows who they are.

On a side note, I'm not gay but Roddy Frame is a really good looking guy

  • This song and a few others were big on Alt. radio in the 80's, like Live 105 in San Francisco.

  • I'm with you on both points! Can you believe they used to show this video on MTV in regular rotation? It wasn't lurid, it wasn't crass, nor was it goody-goody Christian rock. It was just pure brilliance. The first 2 Aztec Camera albums are as timeless as Simon & Garfunkel!

  • Really? The only time I ever remember seeing Aztec Camera on MTV was during 120 Minutes. God I miss that show

  • I do remember seeing "All I Need is Everything" during the afternoon back in '84. Certainly by the time the "Love" album came out I wasn't watching MTV, except 120 Minutes! Then two tragic events befell 120 Minutes: Grunge and Matt Pinfield!

  • Yeah "Love" was the album that had Deep & Wide & Tall. That was actually the first song I ever heard from Aztec Camera. 120 Minutes did indeed turn to shit by the mid-90's Grunge and Matt Pinfield sucked big time. Give me Kevin Seal and Dave Kendall anyday

  • Yes, 120 minutes was great. Now, MTV is pure garbage.

  • @AlbanianMan Don't worry sir, I'm american i've been one of their fans since i was in high school in 83... even back then only me and a couple of guys listened to it.. Bring back the "british Invasion" ! ! !Cheers for Frame and Malcolm Ross.

  • @AlbanianMan yeah im 18 and my dad introduced me to them! think he got it from his days in Australia, but love these guyss

  • @AlbanianMan I know how you feel. I first got into Aztec Camera in late 83'. There were'nt to many of us that knew about it. Most people just don't know what they're missing.

  • @AlbanianMan You're not alone in your appreciation of Aztec Camera. I've been a fan since the beginning and I live in Houston... Great music!!!

  • @AlbanianMan they broke into Canada - Toronto airplay - slightly but never got huge play... unfortunately... a great mix of jazz/pop/new wave I was a gay kid who didn't know what gay was a't a rocker high school... lol... and just seeing this video for the first time on u tube... he is pretty cute... although we are all so old now... I agree with you - too bad they didn't break into America more.. such a cool sounding looking group

  • @AlbanianMan You are not alone. I adored this song the few times I saw the video on MTV. I first heard it on a show they used to broadcast on radio called Rock Over London. I was so young and videos were still novel and this seemed so poignant and cool with the sensitive, pale blond lead singer. I was so glad that I could see this video again.

  • When I was 15yo, I was really in love his voice and sound. I still love him!

  • The first time I heard this song I thought was Paul Weller singing....

    How I loved this song!!

  • Many thanks to LovethisDude for sharing this video.

'Don't really care about the cinematography, just the sound. The song sure gives me goosebumps and takes me back to my teens and high school. Besides, it' a fun song.

  • I Have been searchign for their song Working in a cold mine, but i cant find it, its one of their best.

  • Frame tries too hard.

  • Love it, Roddy is amazing!!

  • Alguien puede decirme por que del nombre AZTEC CAMERA? ( CAMARA AZTECA??)

  • I can not believe I had to watch this video twice to realise that Roddy Frame was doing a pastiche of 'Low' era David Bowie on this video. It is absolutely saturated with references and take-offs from 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'. He has his hair the same and he is even wearing a similar top to Bowie, and mimics the profile shot on the cover.

  • I noticed that too that it seemed eerily similiar; can't say he pulls it off too well though.

  • yesss......fantastisch....

  • Maybe it'sjust because I'm a 42yo Scottish guy, but surely the music of the 1980's which came out of Scotland was world class. Roddy Frame and Edwyn Collins started it all off on Postcard Records (remember Roddy Frame was writing this this stuff at 16!!). You should also check out Hipsway, and a hugely under-rated band called Love and Money

  • Greetings from Peru. I'm 45.

I have always argued that the best creations come from UK. And most of them made by teens, 16.

Saludos desde Perú. Yo tengo 45

  • EXCELLENT song :-)

  • I love this song! Roddy Frame is awesome <3

  • roddy frame is so freaking talented!!!

    i'm green with envy....

but i gotta say this video is so gay...

  • Roddy is great!

  • Does anyone know how to burn this song to a cd off of Youtube?

  • More and more clips get iTunes, can be a while for all clips have it ;)

  • Thank you!

  • this guy always had an interesting way w/ jazz-like cadences.....awesome.... pure genius.

  • i stumbled on to this, i saw these guys in 85 at san diego state's back door

they were drinking st pauly girl beeras they played, and the guitarist got so drunk he fell off stage

    fuck i love this song!!!

  • awesome!

  • Aztec Camera is the TRUTH! This is the track from Knife that the new wave radio stations promoted back in the day. The whole album is so heavy and it still blows me away! I stil have the album review the L.A. Times wrote. "I wish myself into your arms".... Have to admit that I used that line on many a young lady back in the day.

  • I agree ! So cool !

  • Roddy Frame is such a poet and an equally accomplished musician. I have to apologize to all those young ladies from back in the day who thought I was the lad with the clever words and puppy love notes..... I borrowed liberally from the lyric sheets in "High Land Hard Rain" and "Knife"

  • Sure! Roddy is great,I've got all his albums and a lot of singles and 12" but my favorite album is Knife.Well I like a lot all of them. Do you know his first solo album "North Star"?, look at this words: "She's the kinda girl who makes the darkness bright Smiles toward the world and makes it all seem alright"

    Totally great !

  • Wonderful music. Roddy Frame is a great singer and cute!

  • da paura.....................

  • Roddy is the biz.

  • stupenda

  • roddy, thanks for the best song you've had,,it eases me.. feels like heaven

  • I've only ever loved two men... one is Roddy Frame, one is my husband: a Scot, from Edinburgh, as gorgeous as the day is long. Thank you Scotland for giving me these two beautiful men. YAY!

  • Great master piece of the Eighties. My friend Roddy. You're great. I've got all your records you know, in vinyl and cd, but this song is my fave, well one of those ones...

    Greetings from Spain.

    Your friend Miguel you know

    killermontreet com

    Queremos un nuevo album

    Eres grande Roddy

  • It has been my favourite music for many years and I still listen to it almost everyday.

This version is very good and the video I didn't know it. Thank you.

Now I'm trying to remember how I was back in 1983.

    :-)

  • Ja ja!

  • This brings back so, so many memories (eg first kiss, first boyfriend...........) I LOVED Aztec Camera! I love the way he sings in his native Scottish accent, instead of a phoney American accent. The songs still sound brilliant!

  • Roddy is a genius

  • bellissimo viva gli anni 80

  • Havent heard that for over 20 years.Forgot how good it was.

  • Thank you for posting this LovethisDude.

It amazes me how young Roddy Frame was and how very talented at such a young age - and also, (as I re-discovered his music in 2005) how he improved upon what was really excellent in his youth. I don't know if any of you have heard "Western Skies" CD, but it is just fantastic. Thanks for posting this on youtube

  • Your welcome!

Also, watch 'working in a goldmine', just added ;-)

  • 懐かしい、ゾクゾクしました、青春?ですなーっ。

    男の私から見てもカッコいい。

    この感じを誰かに知らせたい!。

  • Cool instrumentals

  • brilliant

  • great stuff

  • This was the only song I heard when I was a teenager and had to buy it immediately. Awesome :)

  • Great!!!

  • Great!!!

  • Love this song...brilliant...just wonderful!

  • Love this song...brilliant...just wonderful!

  • Wow, what a fantastic song, brings lot's of great memories!!

  • one his best....always thought his record company picked poor singles for him...i.e. HEAD IS HAPPY should have been a single.

  • I agree. Its one of their finest songs.

  • great!
