  • What kind of coal cars are those at 2:03

  • @igmuska if you are talking about the the things sticking up, those were how the machinery at the power plant lifted the cars to dump the coal. today rotary couplers are commonly used

  • @niselat Yeah, I've seen those cars but I can't seem to find out what type of coal car they are. I seen pictures resembling them without the hooks or cover. Do you know their type and name? And perhaps some photos for a possible modeling project

  • @igmuska i have no idea. they may have been custom made. sounds like a good research project!

  • Does anyone know what year the scenes on the Rapid City, SD line were shot?

  • reat video I was just reading my RR mag with huge story on Milwaukee road lines west. What a great article and pictures. A sad farewell to a great RR. It was a very moving story right up until the last day of operations in 1980. REAL bad tracks handling monster trains. Love those EMD SD40-2s running hard over terrible track? Dont know how they did it. How many of the old engines are left. Now its repower ECO crap or Gen sets. Forget it Global warming is BS left propaganda for the EPA asses

  • This railroad ran thru Danville, IL, but I never got to see it in action. I wonder what kind of horns they used...
