Nobody could ever reproduce these series of films it just would'nt work the talent that was in these films was absolutely flawless'I feel like i'm right there witnessing the event take place ,its the camera crew the editors, actors.music, lighting, and above all else the story;the great western storys of old,its to bad hollyweird can't just make a simple film about a (story)anymore, the best part is its a continuation of the main character and his adventures;its sort of like the starwars trilogy.
My dad loves his westerns and i remember him letting me stay up late to watch this on T.V when i was 6 years old im 35 now and i was hooked by the opening sequence and the score, Sergio and Ennio are legends i will always love this movie ALWAYS!!!
Well, I've just rechecked the sequence. Tuco asks for more than a half and Clint shows him why that is a bad idea, missing on the next stunt they pull. So things are even and Tuco is happy (I presume) with the 50-50 rule.
But it's Blondie who after that takes the full money for himself and leaves Tuco 70mi out of town, with hands tied under a strong sun. For me, this is indeed Blondie betraying Tuco, sorry, if it's punishment for greed it's way more than reasonable punishment. It's cruelty.
Blondie saved Tuco from pretty much sure death, treated him as an equal partner by giving him 50-50 cut and after ending the partnership still gave Tuco a fair chance to live (Blondie nearly survived 100 miles in an even hotter desert). Tuco wasn't just a greedy guy, he was a criminal about to hang for crimes too many to list here.
Blondie wasn't a saint, though, either. Killed 3 guys so he can cheat money out of sheriffs with the help of a wanted rat.
Tuco was not truly evil, in fact, he was somewhat good. I think LVC was pure evil in TGTBATU. I think Tuco would have won in a one-on-one duel with Angel Eyes. Remember, Tuco was all set to find AG and kill him; even all five.
The two make it out after a nearly disastrous 'job' and the two are talking in a hide out in an alcove. It's been a while since I watched it, Tuco is saying something, but Blondie was calculating after mulling over the money they've just got and has come to a decision. They are not friends, so to speak-the partnership is over since no more worth will be obtained from Tuco. The betrayal or termination of partnership is here.
It's not a joke, Tuco. It's a rope.

"So the next time, I want more than half" "if you miss you had better miss very good"
It was a threat by tuco and greed.

There's dialogue before that, you may be right, it's been a long while.
Khultan 2 years ago
the dialogue before this is "x for you and x for me, know how much your worth now?"

and also "you may run the risks my friend, but I do the cutting. If you cut down my percentage, it's liable to interfere with my aim"

not much of a threat -- if blondie missed, it wouldn't matter how "good", "bad" (or "ugly) he missed, tuco would die!
