we got an full HD sony bravia and if get a i think a cable or dvd box u link it to your hd tv.. they sure will sell that box at sears it the box comes with internet but u must have wifi so yeah it come with you tube yahoo windows live stuff its really cool
I connected my computer to tv through s-video. However the tv image flickers. I was told to change the refresh rate on the computer but I can't do that, because it's greyed out.
I've connected my TV to my computer using an S-video cable from my Video card. Very easy to do. But that's only the video. You can also connect the line-out of your sound card/integrated sound to the TV (or VCR/DVR) so you can hear the audio from the TV. You also have to change the display properties in the control panel. You can also use both the monitor and the TV at the same time as an extended desktop.
you have dvi, so i would go to a fry's or a radio shack to see if they have a regular( dvi to (red, white, yellow) audio video cables) to convert it to sumthing ur tv can do , or s video to dvi ,,,, good luck if you have only hdmi ,,, then try and find a down convert ,, other thn that yea srry ,,, ur screwed u could get a smaller tv for less than a monnitterrr
i also tryed to look for those cause i just got my pc upgraded and i got an inboard graphic card an nevidia and it got a dvi socket o nit so i was looking online to see if i could find a dvi to rca converter so i can see my pc on my tv so i can watch movies on a bigger screen. i did have a ati card that had the yellow rca socket so thats how i did that to see the pc on my tv but my bro said i could use it with my new parts so now all i have is this dvi socket to work with.
you guys should see how fast i jump/drived by hardware software when i was low on funds...hahah i think i built a faster smaller server than all that is "goog."
I think I used the wrong word because i have a relatively new laptop. Its the scart looking cable with the two tiny screws, not sure wht its called :(
Newegg has a box for $179 that takes DVI and LINE-IN (+ power) and outputs HDMI. They also have a 25ft HDMI cable for around $30, so you can get sound and 1900x1080 video.
well i you want to just view from you tv instead of your computer, there is just this 1 cord you can get, but if you want to like record stuff onto your computer FROM you tv.. get the capture cord it's called dazzle video capture card
u can allways get a bigger laptop screen

HOW ABOUT IF THE MY TV HAS ONLY RCA ???
CARMENZEROX 1 year ago 3
I don't know if you have an RGB/VGA capable T.V. But a male to male VGA cord will work. That's what I use with my 26inch VIZIO HD Display.

Thanx for the advice!
Unfortunately i figured it out the hard way that my TV is like 5 years too old and my comp is brand new.... they dont like each other.
So i just took back my comp because from what i gather... they dont make video cards that are compatible with my TV.
Buy a TV with HDMI and have alot less hassle!!
Thanx to everyone who commented back :)

or get a tv tuner for your computer or get an ati card so you can see your pc on your tv if your tv got those rcas sockets on them.

Google search "PC to TV Scan Converter" and you'll find some products that will convert VGA to RCA composite video.

You can put in a graphics card that has an S-video output. They aren't that expensive unless you get a really good one.

This stuff is simple. Most HDTV's have a VGA input. Just plug a VGA cable from your computer to the TV. Done. Simple. Easy.
