  • Makes me proud to be a Druid! :)

  • we saw the old world of wanti again, we were hyooin about in infinity, chanting bhangi in the trees

the fields of mushrooms tiny homes, we travelled, like the will o wisps

about the moving universe, river, ever melting, so alive with the dream,

everyone is just themselves and by that we can fulfil our virtues

  • listen to the planet, deeper than gender, deeper than color

  • ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! The very first song I've ever heard as I started searching for druid music. Thank you for an amazing introduction to this beautiful world.

  • @Ravensgard Balance has always been, it's people who are always the same. Children learn. Many (mistaken) people have done many (bad) things, in one name, cause, or another. Religions, Politics none if it matters, for in this world, past present and future, the sleeping of egos and experience, will always do what they've always done. It's what Christ taught, for the blind could not see. It's the blind that confuse truths. I am from a family of Hebrews and Celts. These are compatible. Awakened.

  • Interesting. I don't agree with a lot of the comments concerning different religions here and beleive that each person who reads this thread will have a different view of all religions based on personal experience...but that's beside the point that I wanted to bring up ;P that I find it interesting to have read in a history of the Irish that the druids were so respected that if a druid walked onto a battlefield, they could utter even one word and everyone would cease fighting, out of respect.

  • @Ravensgard No sir, The catholics teach tradition as a religion, they mix all the triditions of man together and they bow down and pray to statues. Chritians teach not to do thease things, we also only follow christ, no one else as to alot of catholics follow saints and there words.catholics belive they can change the bible as they belive gos tells them to change this and that, but god never changes so this is no so.my poiont is they are so much diffrent.

  • @Ravensgard same thoughts here, my friend.

  • I love this song! Beautifully written and beautifully played by a very gifted and connected musician. Well done Damh! :)

  • Are the druids of today really related to the druids that walked in Britons lands 2000 years ago?

  • @kingfisher559 you see the only god recorded in the old scriptures as the same god but you change him to what you want him to be.The idea of any god came when the true god came back to tell the story of what hapened in the begining to mosses.then mosses recorded it. Then other men sterted to worship there own gods after this. And yes, some men did not like the true god so they changed him to what they wanted. The god my god in the old testament is the one true god.he is what he ever said he was.

  • i once was tired, it was late, so i laid down beneath a tree in some ivy, i laid there and felt all the little insect crawling over me and for once i didn't flick them off, and they didn't do any harm, we must become as trustworthy with nature, as nature is trustworthy with us.

  • its funny how thease people dont belive in god but the main sogn here praises the god of this earth, lol, how funny

  • @Ravensgard that was the catholics not the christians, lol, you must really be dilusioned to think that any catholic is a christain, hense the diffrence between the two words. I would never ever go into any catholic church as a christain man I know who did what.now you say catholic christain, but in all reality there is no such thing.

  • i have a druid friend.i like their love for nature.i love nature very much and its animals because they all belong on this earth.i dont understand people calling themselves witch or druid or pagan and yet dont give a d.... about our planet.lets care and nurture our planet she takes care for us and we should take care for her.

  • @fungusamogus

lmao I hope your trollin XD

  • There has been a hatred of the ancient British past by certain english historians because they were unwilling to acknowledge that theirs was the culture of a usurper. Then most ancient places in Britain are not english. And that upsets some of them, I think. Of course there will be people who consider themselves english who are actually descended from the earlier people who were in fact invaded by the Angles and Saxons after the Roman occupiers had left.

  • 2- its important we Neo-Pagans, and of course, novice Druids, keep contact with the various great religions. Christianity. Judaism. Islam. Hinduism. Buddhism. the sharing of ideas can only benefit society. and open the mind even more! ps: im addicted to Byzantine chants! :)

  • @acerb45666555

No it's important that you keep your distance from those eastern faiths because they hate you and they always have. Don't invite a snake into your bed. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are anathema to the natural world. They all think the world has been given to them to use as they please. ''Dominion over the earth'' is their ultimate arrogance. Of course if you want to sup with the devil, you are welcome but I won't be coming to the party.

  • the old Druidic sacrifices.....i agree with Christians in that sacrifices are a thing of the ancient past, and shall remain so. such a sad part of our history.

  • @acerb45666555 The irony of course is that the Christian religion is built upon the ultimate "human sacrifice"...they wail over Jesus' death...and yet would have no vehicle to heaven if not for his "sacrifice".

Ironic that they could say anything of another sacrificial "lamb"...don't you agree?

  • actually i have studied the druids history and there is nothing that points to sacrifice infact Druidy was the earliest form of Buddhism in the was of being a pacifist that is

  • Amazing,inspiriting and absoloutly beautiful!

  • The song is amazing.

  • what is this song? its so beautiful.

  • Hi there! Glad you like it. The song is 'Merlin am I' from my CD Hills they are Hollow.

    In Peace

    Damh

  • beautiful.

  • Shouldn't that be FOUR seasonal celebrations: Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain? The other four are more Germanic, not Celtic, in nature.

  • Hi - no in Druidry there are 8 celebrations - roughly one every six weeks. Four are astronomical (the solstices and equinoxes) and there is no particular connection with them being Germanic. The four astronomical festivals are interpolated between the four Celtic festivals as you listed them.

  • But none of the Celtic reconstructionists get into the solstices and equinoxes. They always describe the Celtic calendar as Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lughnasadh.

  • Hi - Yes you're right they do, but I was speaking from the perspective of Druidry as it is practised today by the majority of Druids. reconstructionism is a minority view (that isn't a criticism, it's just a fact). Most Druids have a more liberal ands eclectic approach that sees Druidry as a living tradition that can change and grow. So they're not tied in to an attempt to 'reconstruct' past attitudes or activities.

  • Absolutely beautiful~~I have been on the druid path for several years now.......I find immense satisfaction and peace in exploring my celtic roots Thank you Damh The Bard!!

  • Extremely interesting indeed.

I've always felt at a certain level connected to druidism and paganism, but i'm still very uncertain to choose a spiritual path.

Does anyone know of any good forums or sites to learn more and discuss a bit?

Thanks in advance and... great job!

  • Thanks OBOD, thanks Damh. The video is wonderful and so peaceful.

  • Beautiful like these islands. Beautiful like the world.

  • A member of our group found this and linked it for us. It is amazing and beautiful, and as a Bard both in vocation and in spirituality, I am extremely gratified to see the lovely response Damh the Bard has gotten here. It is very well deserved.

  • practice any form of spirituality but I would like to. I wish I knew more about this wonderful state of mind and spirity known as Druidry! thanks very much for posting this video, the song is beautiful!!

  • This is beautiful! pre-christian religions should be given official recognition, but obviously it would go against the nature of the corporate-consumerist society we live in. I am truly inspired by Druidism and I admire it a lot but sadly there are few places to go and few channels to approach when wanting to find out more about it. At the moment I don't

  • You've got this Wiccan's attention. BEAUTIFULL!

  • Beautiful. My favourite of Damh the Bard.

  • I agree that we have lost touch with nature. But for many of us Druids and Druidess, nature is once again become a part of us and out souls. The clip is insperational and peaceful.

  • This is so great

  • Another wonderful video thanks to OBOD. Nothing more to say than thank you!

    Beannachtai mhor

  • nice, makes me wanna get into druidry. yeh in my anthropology class we talked about how if animism were to replace christianity, things would be waaaay different. we would think twice about killing eachother, and about how much of the land is destroyed during battle. and also he talked about how men these days, usualy over 20, dont act like men. and that is because american culture doesnt have rites of passage rituals.

  • @Magician12345 Most cultures dont have rites of passage.

The world would be much better with pagan religions at the front again. Its a good thing that pagans are coming back, The world almost became a monotheistic world, The Hindus were the only ones that really survived, but even they, are kind of mono theistic, which is why the lived. The Catholic church almost killed all pagans in europe, very few survived.

  • Interesting.
