I have a great life, and have good manners, and love my friends and family, and you would never guess that I listen to Manson's music by looking at me. Manson taught me that it was OK to be myself, and I still listen to his music.

This is a strange sensation. Manson is sharp and well-spoken, O'Reilly is a moron. But Manson completely understates some of the destructive potential in his music and message. You know he knows - he targets the most vulnerable kids.
It's all fine and well for Manson to express himself artistically, but the fundamental problem is that kids are not developed - they don't know themselves well enough to understand that sort of expression. That anger can easily color a kid's perspective.
He's been doing this for years, i've just realized one thing and can some it up in a name- LADY GAGA. I bet if she honestly answered who her influences were he would be one of them hands down. I find it funny when Bill says "kids are going to see you up on stage with another man and think it's ok to do that too"....I think it's society that has the problems...all this homophobic religious shit is so ingrained that automatically it becomes "bad". Manson patiently dealt with this jackass in a calm and polite manner so I gotta give him props for that. I'm not a fan of his music, but if kids grow up to be as intelligent and well spoken as him then honestly I fail to see the problem.

It feels like he manufactured this look and feel, full of anger and pseudo-rebellion, which is strikingly detached from his calm manner and fully-conforming speech, behavior, and family background. It almost feels like an intentional socio-political ploy to drum up restlessness and anger. Odd.
Still, it sure beats O'Reilly's steady stream of conservative BS.

This is a strange sensation. Manson is sharp and well-spoken, O'Reilly is a moron. But Manson completely understates some of the destructive potential in his music and message. You know he knows - he targets the most vulnerable kids.
It's all fine and well for Manson to express himself artistically, but the fundamental problem is that kids are not developed - they don't know themselves well enough to understand that sort of expression. That anger can easily color a kid's perspective.

o'reilly's entire argument is based on assuming children are nieve and incapible of making informed decisions or working things out for themselves. it's inevitable that a kid will be exposed to these sorts of taboo behavior, but, Rather then sitting down and explaining what marilyn does on stage, he would be one content to let kids see it on there own without any frame of reference.

Articulate and well spoken, yes. Intelligent? Jury is still out. First question was about his message, and he claimed he wants people to be themselves. An odd assertion from a guy in a disguise (or costume). If he is not a marketing genius himself, then he is a product of another one. His message would be unheard if it wasn't for the outrageous facade of his character. His antics are the reason for his huge paycheck.
