I think the book was better. The movie was great, don't get me wrong, but it seemed so much shorter, and like it was missing all the depth and feeling of the book. I apsolutly adored the emotions in the book, and Craig's character. In the movie Craig kinda annoyed me at parts. I'm glad I watched the movie, but definitely glad I read the book first.

@morgandiegel I felt the EXACT same way! Plus, I really think that in the movie they made it like Craig's problems were because of his dad, when in the book it was really all him. And the movie didn't move me nearly as much. After I read the book, I caught myself stressing about how much I had to do, and was like "it's not that big of a deal, you'll get through it! Jeez, you sound like Craig!" The book is more relatable than the movie, as often happens with these kinds of books/movies.

It's not degrading.

And I'm sure if you read the book you would understand. I go through depression as well. Most teens do, so don't act like it's not a common problem. I found it funny and I have thoughts of suicide. Don't try and turn it around when it's mean to be enlightening to open-minded teens unlike you.

And the guy who wrote the book, was in a mental hospital. He wrote it to educate.

This is my FAVORITE book. This book explains depression so well to people who have never had it before and can't understand it.

A little bit sad that Emma Roberts is playing noelle though... She doesn't match the noelle that was in my head when reading the book. Nevertheless, I'm going to go see it :)

And I hate to break it to you, but Juno didn't invent awkward characters, and in my own opinion, it's not that great. Finding "love" in a mental hospital is by far one of, if not the most, dumbest places to look for. "Oh you were raped? Ok let's go out!" or "Oh you attempted suicide? Let's go out!"

Don't get wrapped up in the logic of this movie because there isn't any, it's sweet and pretend. I fortunately I visited a mental hospital and it's scary and very sad. Most people are heavily sedated and men are definitely separated from women. There are several wards and the workers aren't kind.

ashamed? Depends who you talk to. You have to know some people will freak out and some people will understand. You don't just spew it out of nowhere to someone. But don't look down on yourself as a crazy person or some other thing because you aren't diagnosed as insane, didn't wear a strait jacket, etc. People need help if they have those kinds of problems.
