From the time he stepped on the racetrack for this race, to present day. It's hard to believe how badly Cavalryman has regressed from the level that Andre Fabre had him at in 2009 when he won the Grand Prix De Paris and Prix Niel. Plus a very solid 3rd behind STS in the Arc that year. This was Cavalryman's first race for Godolphin and Saeed Bin Suroor, and he's never again looked remotely the same horse that Andre Fabre had as a 3yr.old in 2009. Such a shame!!
Great ride and spot on timing by Olivier Peslier on Red Desire in this race. Word has come out now that Red Desire will travel to America in November to race in the 2010 Breeders Cup F&M Turf. Won by Midday in 2010. Red Desire is a top shelf filly herself, and can only serve to make the F&M Turf much more competitive. No word yet on whether Henry Cecil is going to send Midday back to America in 2010 to defend her F&M Turf Crown?
If Godolphin would send Allybar to America to race in Grade 1 races over synthetic tracks, he'd likely become a star. His form on synthetics is much stronger than it is on turf. Much the same for Gitano Hernando. Allybar will just never be a Group 1 winner in Europe on turf. The competition is just too tough. Already a well beaten 11th in the Prince of Wales Stakes and a distant 3rd in the York Stakes on turf in Europe in 2010. JMO.
I'd almost be willing to bet that a bigger % of Japanese racing fans that were watching this race that night were betting that Vodka was going to finish better in this race than Red Desire. Although, even though Vodka has been a great champion race-mare and has always raced well in Japan. She's never ran particularly well anytime she's ever raced in Dubai. IMO.
@warren1122report, Very much agreed. I personally think this is the strongest race I've personally seen Red Desire win. But she's also ran very well in Japan as well. Finishing 3rd to Vodka and Oken Bruce Lee in the 09' Japan Cup, and ahead of Conduit in that race. She's also finished 2nd or 3rd in a few races in Japan that have been won by another brilliant Japanese filly, Buena Vista, who may be even better than Red Desire. But she closed with a fury in this race, for sure. JMO.

@GBeret83
Buena Vista won domestic G1 mile race(Victoria Mile) for filly 3 week ago after returning from Dubai.
Red Desire finished 4th in that race.
Buena Vista may enter
Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe of France in this Autumn.
