In the first three years of his career Reed was a SS, and a better SS then than Polumalu is now. Reed's true prime was back in 03-05. He was a BEAST in 2004. 9 picks for 348 yards on returns! He made a huge comeback in 08, but he was great in 06 too. Watch the 06 Divisional game against the Colts, Ed Reed was EVERYWHERE. Polumalu might have more rings, and might more tackles in run support (which Reed used to all the time early in his career), but Ed Reed is by far the better player overall.

Reed was better, but if Taylor was still alive today he'd be giving Reed a run for his money. Taylor had great athletic ability and hit like a linebacker, but his coverage was suspect. lol i watched it again....
but at 1:44 he had the record for longest Int return for TD with i think 106 yards but he just set the new record against the eagles with 108 yards....
