Roll or not is theoretically and practically wrong. Prime example guy gets knocked out with 360 kick. C'mon. Spar like you fight and fight like you spar.
In a street fight people who think think they can fight like in the street will be destroyed. Look at boxers, the greatest fighters don't ponce around with their hands down. Idiots!
,maybe you should watch your mouth before calling black belts idiots. There in a tournament retard, obviously theyll be going for high kicks and high risk moves to knock the other out, they're worth more points. Just because there martial art focuses on kicking doesnt mean they wont know how to handle themselves in a "street fight" as you put it. To think any black belt wouldnt be able to handle themselves in a street fight is just ignorance and stupidity.
@buttanx , watch my mouth?, this is called text, I didn't mouth it, are you the guy from the video, if so your an idiot. FYI blind person, I didn't MOUTH anything about why they shouldn't go for high kicks, YOU texted it. Read my message. High Risk? why risk? I'm sure champions in TKD have won using a guard NO? The guy got knocked out because he had NO guard, plain, simple, clear, undisputable. Oh yes! FYI I am 20 years TKD, I know plenty of Black Belt idiots, including me it seems!
@buttanx TKD fighters train to systems do they? Street Fight styley and Competition styley. You seem to like read my posts and change what I TEXTED to suit yourself. Now I'm gonna go out and pick a fight with a black belt, who specifically will give me his Street Fighter Styley TKD. Not his competition styley cause I might get knocked out because of the risky moves.
@SuperBlippo Taekwondo IS useful in the streets. ITF and WTF Style both have styles of TKD.
1. Traditional
2. Self Defense (For Streets).
3. Olympic
4. Tricks
Every Martial Art is useful in the streets, i'm just concerned for BJJ. I don't think it's very useful when you're outnumbered. But i'm sure they have a technique for it. All Martial Arts are EPIC.
@ymk19 ...Seriously? Please point out where I put TKD wasn't useful in the streets!!!
Did people who post messages all of a sudden loose their ability of sight? I am very aware of the Styles for TKD, as a practitioner which I am, I understand.
Here is a question, please DO NOT misinterpret: Guy gets knocked out because his hands are down for duration of fight, WHY? is it because ITF, WTF, Olympic, Traditional or because he is an idiot?
@ymk19 ....here's another question if the guy ditches his WTF Olympic competition styley and switches to his Self Defense(For Streets) Styley, does he have a better chance of not getting knocked out, or maybe even win the fight, god forbid!.
Also, if he switched to his Self Defense(For Streets) would he put his guard up?
@ymk19 ...listen I don't know what you're cacking on about, AIKIDO? tricks? did you watch the video, he got knocked out because his hands were down. Watch videos on Tomaz Barada world champ TKD, Kickboxing. Everytime is opponent moves to him of if he attacks, his hands rise to his face. Therefore doesn't get knocked out. This hands down crap is a poison to TKD and it's not taught by masters, Gen Choi, Choi Jung Hwa, Hee Il Cho and others. Spar like u fight, fight like u spar.
@SuperBlippo Well, The Self Defense style of Taekwondo has an amount of AIKIDO MOVES, so it's most likely not allowed to use in the Olympics.
In the Olympics, Taekwondo mostly only fights for points.
In Self Defense, Taekwondo has a few Twisting and locking moves (Aikido-like), so it's most likely either to knock him out, or make him suffer, tapout etc. It's also used in Police Depts.
In Traditional, It's good to use it in UFC,K-1 etc.
What an awful example of ITF sparring. Lazy guards. Any martial arts I can think of you need to have a standing guard, what's this crap with hands below the waist, idiots. Rule 1 - Defence
i do TKD with ITF i am a green belt and i am looking forward to the english open championships because that will be my first TKD competition i enter can i have some tips and advice?
This is not the art of TKD. This is still sport. The Art of TKD is forms and application of those forms. ITF does do forms, some teachers may even teach application. But be realistic about that sine wave.
itf takewon do,is the most organized martial art!!have everything,,hands, legs, sparing without point stops, full contact and its more more brutal than wtf. This taewondo itf must be in olympic games, not wtf!!!a real martial art and not boring!!!!
@TAOTAO3730 i can see ur point, but at the end of the day olympics are all about sport and athletic ability etc. its not focused upon ability to knock people out, which of course i agree, is the best bit of martial arts! but thats why there is loads of real martial arts tournaments out there that have nothing to do with olympics...but they are better!
@MrKingHari WTF is based on sport...ITF is based on real combat....to me WTF is just alot more fun to sparr for sport and ITF is just alot more fun if you want to learn how to fight on the street and in real combat. either way both are great ways to fight TKD.
i own a 2 dan in tkd and i sparr both styles WTF is my favorite but i love ITF becuz it is just alot harder to sparr becuz of the amount of time oyu have to think of you moves
speed it up when I should slow it down, keep your opponent guessing and leave them wondering, Just something I learn while competing in AAU Karate one year it is not all that different to fight a karate guy with tae Kwon do especially when you mix kicks with punches
If you are continuously attacking how do you know that you have connected with any one or two or three techniques, I guess we just have two different styles of fighting yours works for you and mine works for me. I like to play chess with my opponent you like thinking 3 or 4 moves ahead of my opponent. slow it down when I should speed up
the entire ethos about sparring in england and korea is completely different, its both ITF, but matches i've seen and competed in are always much more continuous and no hopping about, its always attack or be attacked
Tell me then If you are always on the attack when do you defend yourself against an attack. It is ok to attack sometimes but you also have to show that you are capable of defending an attack as well. Next time you spar with someone vary your attacks between offense and defence and then come back and tell me if that works for you or not.
lol, attacking is a much better defence than just standing there...it depends on the person sparring however, dont get me wrong when i spar i do vary what i do, but what im saying is that at competitions in england that i've competed the ethos is to get the greater number of hits...taking some blows is just part of it...but sparring I've seen on videos from korea everyone is trying to pick the points much more.
because they dont want to use hand, but they can, well is good that these guy use leg more than hand because that's what taekwondo is, take a look at some pro taekwondo sparring, they make it look like such a kick boxing
taekwon-do was origonally taught to korean soldiers and used to kill with a single punch. later the general needed something new to make it origonal so he started to 'sell' his art as also being specialist in kicking and used many gravity defying moves during his first tour of the workd next to the conventional slab and brick breaking. and so thats why taekwon-do is notorious for having good kickers, becuause the general added it to his art to make people want to do it.
OMG~ extra round intense intense !!! and all those screaming doesnt help at all >_<
