This is another I do in my band, one of the easier VH songs too. You mentioned the MXR flanger being expensive.. you are right, but. ..don't bother, I get the exact same flanger sound using a cheap Bheringer flanger and it only costs $19 - I use it for Unchained too.

would you recommend these amps? i looked it up on the marshall website and seems appealing enough and judging by the sound your getting i could see myself getting one. Its also within in my price range. Are you satisfied with it?

I like em ok.A lot of people seem to hate them though, idk why.I play gigs with it and the only thing i dont like sometime is the sound is small, but something cool is that you can practice with the combo at home and take a cabinet when you gig and make a half stack!There are also some other tube amps out there around the 500 range, like b-52 and the peavey windsor if you want something better you could try those out.

hey dude, what channel are you on with the marshall mg because I can't get a good EVH sound without using my boss blues drriver distortion on top of the overdrive 2 channel?

Same here, im using overdrive 2 with the gain around 6 or 7

I had it on 10 and it wasn't enough for me to get the new 07-08 tour EVH sound but I finally got it. my blues drive has tone 25% level 50% gain around 63% with the built in reverb on the amp to about 40% with the delay only used for songs like cathedral. I could have gotten a vintage VH with just the OD2 for rhythm and blues driver for only solos but on the 07-08 tour he always had the lead channel. Also I realized that with just OD2 when i just slid from 12 down it couldn't make it.
