  • new i don't talk abouth team_control_point_master.....­..i ascking for some help i do all configuration i do all things i saw in tutorials but the map still dont work.when i add a player to the map it's only a green box and i don't have terrorist player in the menu onli player start....player start vip.....can you tell me whats the problem(i have non-steam Cs could be theat the problem?)

    1. my cp are in a purple/black colour....

    2. i win the game, after i caped the neutral point.....:(

    and if the CP isnt purple the water gets purple dunno how the water can be effekted by a CP o_O

    and sometime the CP prop isnt visible i just see the flag.

    any idea's ?

  • Luckymator. I can fix number one of your problems. Add a light_environment.

  • This is not really related to this totorial but to hammer in general. occasionally my hammer editor gets stuck in a mode where you con only navigate the view and are not able to select anything/do anything.

    PS. pressing "z" is not the problem.

  • Cause i was optimising a map for a friend at the time (nodrawing alot of stuff, splitting visleaf's and adding some occulation) and he also asked me to do his control points for him, so while his vmf was compiling on my laptop, i decided to do the tutorial :D

  • The last item 'Rate at which to give partial cap points to area captured' means the number of points it gives a player during capture. Meaning the number of points you will gain in the 'captures' section of the scoreboard - which will give you an overall higher point count... I suppose this should be added to wiki.

    This is an important thing to consider for some maps, as the points themselves should sometimes be more important score-wise than everything else.

  • Hi, thanks for making this awesome tutorial, it helped so much! I do have one problem. I created a map with control points like you said and they work perfectly, expect the texture for the cp bases aren't loading correctly (they're the purple/black checkerboard). I was wondering if you knew of some option to fix this texture, as I can see all control points on other maps fine. Or is it just a problem with my computer? Thanks.

  • i can help here finaly get a env_cubemap put it in ur map then it should stop if need any more help just ask

  • Like Xxminish said, add an env_cubemap into your map, compile with HDR, load up the game, run your map, and type "buildcubemaps" into console (without the quotation marks, and the fully exit out of TF2. Once this is done, open TF2 again, run your map, and everything should look fine =]

  • And now just a quick question. I've been trying to make a map where RED team controls the points from the very beginning and then BLU must take the control points in order to win before time runs out (ex: Gravelpit, Dustbowl, etc) . But every time the round starts, it immediately registers RED as having won without any regards to the timer. Any tips on how to change that?

  • Ignore all of the "red previous points 1/2/3" key values, and only set them for blue. This should work then =]

  • Sorry I took so long in getting back to you, but thanks, I did do that from the beginning. So what I ended up having to do was leave the last point capped as RED and made the other two neutral but only BLU could cap all three in the end. =\ Well, I'll play around with it more though.

  • And don't forget to change the Triggers so that red can't capture them and make it so the Master says that red can't win just by having all the control points.

  • i need help in my map i have 2 control points for the first control point ive made the prop dynamic prop_cap_1 and the name cp_1 and i made my second one prop_cap_2 and the name cp_2 and for my flag i made the name cp_1_flag and the print name bottom control point and the indext 0 and for my second one i made the cp_2_flag and the print name top control point and the index 1 and for my trigger i made the name cp_1_triggerarea the control point cp_1_flag and the second one cp_1_triggerarea RE:

  • i also named he second one cp_2_trigger area and the control point cp_2_flag. then i made the control point master name control_point_master the cap layout 0 1 and the restrict team from winning nether and the rest the same u made it BUT i have a problem when i try to play it the first control point is fine i can see everything but the problem witht he second one is i cant see it on hud nor can i see the prop or the flag ENY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
