  • I find it funny how some people think the film is about "child rape". First, the actress was 17. Second, READ THE BOOK.

  • @KissOfDoom1

she was presumably about 14 or 15 while they were filming. The film was released in 1997 but they had a lot of trouble finding a distribution company so for a few years after the film was done filming they couldn't particularly find a distribution company. However, this is all estimation.

  • @Detth2you Still, NOT a child.

  • @KissOfDoom1

14 years old is considered a child in most states.

  • @Detth2you Besides, what would state law have to do with this anyway? It isn't a porn movie. Even if the acrtess was eleven or twelve years old, there's nothing illegal in any scene she filmed.

  • @KissOfDoom1 Technically, 14-15 is considered a teenager, so medically and legaly it's not either pedophililia or child rape.

  • @KissOfDoom1

14-15 is NOT considered a teenager, I already stated that 14 years old is very well considered a child in most if not all states(I think it's actually all), I am not bashing this film, merely I'm simply correcting you who refuses to admit the fact that this is a child in this movie. However, you should know that the actress barely did anything with him other than a few kissing scenes. They put a pillow over his lap when she sat on him and used body doubles.

  • @Detth2you Pretty sure she was 17 or 18

  • @emmaiselectrifying

please read my previous post before you look like an imbecile.

  • @Detth2you was there any need to be so aggressive?

anyway the whole point of Lolita (or a good part of it, imo) is that is challenges the rules of society which we interpret to be fundamental moral beliefs - eg girls under 16 (the age of consent where I am from) must not be sexual/sexualised, even if they act of their own volition. even if she was 14 or 15, it only highlights the theme of the book further. anyway when I was 15 I'd totally have made out with Jeremy Irons haha

  • @emmaiselectrifying

where in any of my posts did I ever say I hated this movie? To be honest, I thought the book was essentially a satire, considering the fact that everyone gets screwed over at the end. I don't see why some people are attacking me, I NEVER said that this movie was "awful" or whatever, I already know they're not saying that "pedophilia is awesome"

  • @Detth2you I wasn't saying you hated it (idk where you got that from) or attacking you at all, just offering my opinion man. chill.

  • @Detth2you that's funny because I seem to see the word "teen" in fourteen and fifteen. lol. Obviously 14 and 15 is teen. They're not yet adults, but they're not children either. They're adolescents. You're also confusing "child" with "age of consent." The age of consent in all states is 16 or higher, but that doesn't mean we call 14-15yos children. 14 is the age of consent in many countries, including South Korea.

  • @tron81

quit raging, regardless whether or not 14-15 is a child or not some people still see the scenes in this film to be wrong considering the fact that a very young girl is doing sexual things to a grown man. Although, many of these sexual scenes weren't actually performed(the scenes where she rubs her foot on his penis, I believe they used a pillow or something).

  • @NGaard yes i wish be her and kiss that man if i m actrees i not doubt to kiss him lucky her i have reason to envy her first for kiss jeremy irons i like that man second she is talent and third very beautifull and lolita is my fovourite movie i love it

  • Jeremy Irons: If normal people did what he does in this scene, they would get reported to the police. But he gets paid for it! I bet he enjoyed every moment... in secret.

  • 0:05 Her ass jiggles! And they shot that scene in slow motion just to show how much her butt jiggles when she jumps up in Humbert's arms.

Butt jiggle. Lolita has butt jiggle. Someone still thinks she looks like a little girl?

  • come to my dressing room dominique there's something i want to show you

  • I feel like at 0:24 he was thinking, "Wait... but... my boner!"

  • He was left with an unattended boner, until later.

  • Jeremy Irons seems like he has a thing for playing fucked up roles XD

  • Waw... hot scene

  • @darkfoot fail, pedos

  • @SerenityBlitz96 nope,she was 17 :D

  • 0:04-0:05, goddamn.

  • 0:22 Rihanna: Ut oh..BONER alert.

  • Lucky old cunt

  • @NGaard Old fart now

  • I love Jeremy Irons... this man is really hot!!!!

  • @AcessDBpro She was 17. Stfu.

  • FREAK

  • @AcessDBpro you're fucking ignorant, go memorize some bible verses prick

  • Um are u fucking insane? Do u know what a baby looks like? Fuck u probably hav ethe menatl age of a 4 year old

  • @AcessDBpro 15 of age, 18 , 20, 40 what does it matter, women used to deliver children age d13, 14 in the middle age and dont tell me that human anathomy changed since that times

  • @AcessDBpro Its a fucking movie , get the stick outta your ass.

  • @AcessDBpro there's no actual sex involving Dominic Swain in this movie, fyi...they used a double for the one and only explicit scene.

  • É lindo!

  • Im gay and i still think this film is wonderful

  • excelent, lovely Dominique and Jeremy

  • These things would not have happened if they had TVs and the Internet to occupy their time

  • lol... do not belive! Those fat legs won't fool me. They should have casted better... Lolita was 12. This actress looks like 16.

  • I like to fuck some of my students they're sexy as hell.

  • It's difficult to feel bad watching this movie when you know the actress is of age.

  • @tiemedown she was accually 15 when they filmed it, look it up. jeremy irons even mentions it in an interview

  • @Paigeandaudrey Yes but she had her mother on set with her supervising, the original lolita was 12 I believe, something which would have been unconsciounable to film

  • @tiemedown well they at least could find one that looks petite...

  • @ljuc I actually prefer her looking older. the audience is supposed to relate to Humprey's sexual mood and it would be very difficult to convince an audience to look at a largely androgynous child as a sexual object (not to mention unethical).

  • @tiemedown You totally didn't get what Lolita is about. She's not supposed to be attractive to men and to be sexy, except for someone like Humbert who was obviously SICK. He was sexually obsessed by her, he raped her multiple times, he DESTROYED her.

We see the story from his point of view. He's totally not reliable. We don't know much about Lolita, and the things that we know are that she cried every night when she thought that he was asleep and that the only man she truly loved was Quilty.

  • @Georgiina57 Ok, crazy. The book was a subject on pedophilia, if you look into the film as a separate entity you will understand that they chose a young woman in order to create more obvious power plays that reach a greater collective. Lolita in the book is a completely different person than in the film; I was making the point that choosing an older actress made people fear Humphrey but understand him without the film being immediately shut down as obsenity. Grow up and learn artistic license.

  • @Georgiina57 Understanding his allure makes his choices that much more abominable. Yet through the obstruction of film we can observe the manipulations of both parties ( because if you read the book, Lolita was not an utter victim, she used Humphrey's attraction often to force his hand...such is the conflict of the play) clearly you have your own issues to work through for this much bile does not compound literature discussions.

  • @Georgiina57 He wasn't obsessed with her. By definition he and her having sexual intercourse is techincally 'rape' because of age and what not but she wanted it too otherwise she wouldn't have been undoing his pants or rubbing his thighs and things like that. She was crying over the loss of her mother, no matter how bratty she is she still loved her mother, and she didn't love Quilty she wanted to use him to get away from Humbert because she was tired of him. Lol I think that's how it goes......

  • @tiemedown This story is not made for some men to have sexual fantaisies on Dominique Swain. Read the fucking book and try to understand it.

  • boner

  • jigglyfidda- When I was in grade school...lol. I admit a 19 year old liked me when I was 30. I stayed away just incase she was lying.

  • 0:04 to 0:07 best ass wobble AHAHAH

  • SOFT PORN! :D

  • el amor prohibido... mi pecado... mi alma... lolita...

  • she lo, plain lo in the morning

    standing 4'10 in one sock.

    LO-LEE-TA TA TA

    xo

  • This film is fucking wrong.

  • I remember this movie,it was very taboo to consider a remake of the 1962 film, and the late Stanley Kubrick had a hard time finding funding for this film, because of it's controversial theme, and the fact that Dominique Swain was only 14 years old at the time of shooting this scene is probably why the film made less than $20,000 grand in it's opening weekend, and a final domestic gross just over a million...When the film cost $58 million,Very bad,I still can't believe this scene. I like Dominique

  • omg

  • Dominique Swain is only 15 when this movie is being made.

In 1995, Swain was chosen from 2,500 girls to star in the controversial remake of Lolita; the film was released in 1997.

  • pause at 0:30... hehe

  • The know nothing power-and-control freak U ptidght S exual A ssholes can't stop anyone of anyage from being aMused by their own mind & body either alone or with whom they choose. '18' is BULLSHIT for junk-media Scare Profit - and millions of carefree kids know it !

  • I'm a big Kubrick fan, but this version is rather better and cooler and more interesting than 1962. And this scene is the best here, so much love, so beautiful, so touching. Dominique is a perfect Lo and Jeremy Irons is a perfect Humbert

  • everyone is a pedophile inside... just hidden behind denial

  • @artem1002 nahhhh mate, im not, 100%, you pedo....

  • U ptight S exual A ssholes.

  • I'll bet if the gender was a boy instead of a girl people would be screaming pedophile.

Anyway good movie but still there seems to be a double standard in society of what is sexually acceptable and what isn't. Underage sex with girls seems more forgivable with men than underage sex with boys. I also don't buy into the idea that it's ok for a child to have sex with someone much older than themselves but that just my opinion.

  • @newfful Ever heard of the movie "The Reader" where it is a female pedophile and that movie actually won awards unlike "Lolita"

  • That little whore bitch. Taking advantage of a middle-aged man. Everyone knows how vulnerable midddle-aged men are. Slut.

  • Underage is just a theory, a tag, a law based on a society moral trends according to a time era! When young girls have their first periods, physically they can conceive a child! It's been like this since the crration of "Man" and will always be like that, nobody delay that physical development. That's how God has created them! But I leave this comment to those who possess intelligent! :)

  • Oh lord, she's so lucky. This man is DAMN fine.

  • @fenriz218 @fenriz218: ACHTUNG ACHTUNG If you're FREAKIN PANIC-PARANOID right dude, then millions of Kid-ADULTophiles & natural Sex-Keen-Kidz (like we all were) will be on the crazed list of EffBeeEyePedoWeirdos banging down normal kidz& folks doors - so no change there - Carry On America-abUSeA - pronounced ' ' ABUSER ' ' . Meanwhile millions search ' Jeremy Irons' same result, same shit, no sweat. LOL-ita.

  • @fenriz218 why get in trouble for searching for scenes in a Hollywood movie?

    Fucking troll.

  • Comment removed

  • its a trap!

  • Why are ppl involving Miley Cyris? God shes nothing. This movie however is great if you liked it try watching L'amant.

  • @leela194 I saw L'Amant several times, it's a great movie, Lolita also. I'm glad to see we're sharing the same opinion about movies.

  • in the book she's supposed to be 12

  • agreed, i approve. 17 is not young...for 95% of human civilization on this earth, girls as young as 14-17 were getting married and having babies. It's only the last 100 years or so where that has started to change and ppl gasp that a 16 or 17 yr old girl gets pregnant. It's a scientific fact as well that girls eggs are best before 24-25 yrs of age. After that, it starts going downhill.

  • @ocboy188 thx for the information

  • @ocboy188 obviously, thats why they have period at 12 yo

  • Not to be a prude, but most 14-17 year olds are not ready for marriage, I have heard biologically that this is the best time to have children, but most of them lack the maturity to be good spouses and good parents. I am concerned when a 16 year old gets pregnant because usually they have no job, education, or money. I must say that I don't support age of consent laws, because of this should be determined on an individual basis.

  • Not to be judgeMENTAL but the fascist know nothing U ptight S exual A ssholes will say next that no one knows enough to wank until they're 18! I started at 6 and still at it cos it's fun and it's free !! I woulda started at 4 but my slinky babe boss said to stay late. She would be a fantasy (or real) wank for any Non-victim Adultophile boy or gal. Meanwhile Vlad Nab's description of Lo includes, "...standing 4 foot ten in one sock". LOL-ita.

  • "Wanking" has no consequences. You can't get pregnant , do really think a 13 is responsible enough to raise children, to hold a job to support the child, I'm sure delivering newspapers on his/her paper route would be enough to pay hospital bills, and formula, and diapers and..... Most teenager are not mature enough to handle it, I'm sure out of the 6 billion people on this planet there are some, but most are not.

  • .. Forever, millions of Non- victim peer-kids & kid-Adultophiles have been aMused by sex with no fallout - it's fun and it's free ! Only the few dysfunctional cases get disproportionately HUGE junk-media exposure for Scare Profit NOT Protection - Wise Up don't Dumb Down. LOL-ita.

  • @DH1986 Yanks n Brits born since the 1970s know only 24/7 Dumbed Down LobotoMedia bullshit for Scare Profit not Protection. Until the 1970s Wanking & Gaysex were both WRONGLY media-considered vile practises now they're both BOODY COMPULSORY ! ..

  • Like wanking, Gay sex between to consenting adults is fine. So is anal sex, oral sex ,bondage, and all other fetishes, but it has to do with mental capacity nothing more, do they know the consequences of their actions?

  • ...E.G. what would the U ptight S exual A ssholes say to the Democratic Czech Republic who sensibly this year matched their Age Of Criminal Responsibilty to their Age Of Sexual Consent - at 14 ? Modern Czechs are sense defenders not sense offenders. Meanwhile well beyond 4 foot ten Swain is about 8 inches too tall for Humbert's rule " Nice at nine, right at 12.30 " Wise Up don't Dumb Down. LOL-ita.

  • @DH1986 Nothing personal, but the gullible Brits n Yanks born since the 1970s are in awe of a NeoFalseGod 24/7-365 Wall-To-Wall bent media for Scare Profit not Protection...

  • @DH1986 The power-and-control freak menopausal mindset U ptight S exual Assholes know only to create and exploit dysfunction, but know nothing of safe Sex aMusing millions of Under 18s just laughing at them - it's fun and it's free ! Meanwhile millions more Non-victim Adultophiles Rock !! It's only sex but we like it !!! LOL-ita.

  • @DH1986 That's because in today's American society children are coddled and not urged to be responsible. It used to be that teens looked forward to being adults and being treated and looked upon as such. Today's pop culture celebrates youth, and remnants from the 60's have taken root causing us to not want to grow up. Everyone wants to remain young and childish forever.

  • Wow, it´s beautiful, Jeremy is perfect man and Dominck is chick, it´s great film.

  • WOW! What a pooper on that Lolita chick! I hope Humbert got his tongue up that thing, and regularly! I used to think this was a sick story, but Jesus Christ, when a kid has a pooper like that, who can blame the guy???

  • TheFecalAvenger. Dominique Swain was 17 years of age when she played the part of Lolita LOL, so Jeremy was not doing any harm, and I think Dominique was having a good time!

  • You Are DAAAAAAAAAAAM right buddy!

  • Miley Cyrus is not a Lolita. She is just some commercial product by Disney.

  • Bazı arkadaşların bu "Lolita" meraklarını anlayamıyorum doğrusu !

  • thank U for upload!

  • Thank God that Kanye West didn't interupt this scene. Sincerely R. Kelly.

  • lmao! that was hilarious!

  • Pedobear approves.

  • i approve as well.

  • Just dont.

  • Starring who?

  • this film is about the beautifulness of a true and unfair love. . .it´s probably the best movie i watched,cz it´s so pure despite the controversial pedophilia thing.. .

so stop arguing about idiot Miley Cirus, and enjoy this piece of art!!!

  • WoW at 0:20

  • fwar

  • I just read this part in the book! Oh my. <3

  • Lo-Li-Ta... la punta de la lengua emprende un viaje de 3 pasos desde el borde del paladar para apoyarse, en el tercero, en el borde de los diente... Lo-Li-Ta!!!

  • PEOPLE. Miley cyrus is not in this movie!!! Stay on topic, please.

  • ok first off to respond to your Miley Cyrus comment. She has shown us more than her back. She takes pictures with her tits hanging out and also has a picture with her pants down and her underwear hanging out showing her ass. She is not innocent. Also she dated someone who is 21 which is illegal considering she is only 16.

Besides this movie is romantic not gross

  • whisperedlaughter, is depends on where she lives, In most states the age of consent is 16.

  • But that is void if the person is more than 4 years older than they are.

  • MissPiscespets: What is ' void ' is the judgemental (for scare profit power-and-control not protection), climate-of-fear dysfunction-junction abUSeA !

    Meanwhile Adultophiles rock !!

  • This scene is beautiful. <3

  • My sin, my soul.

    LOLITA.

  • whats a lolita ?

  • lolita is a nickname, an abreviature of Dolores (in this case). It's a name, not a noun.

  • it can be used as a noun now based on the infamousness of character.

  • Well in pop culture it means a sexually precous young girl.

  • :bave:

  • then why are you watching it?

  • well it is a good movie

  • i've had a lolita, i can forget. i would never forget... back in the 90s...

  • how was this girl really when this movie was shot like D: they really make her look and act of 13

  • so phucking hot! i got a new sexual fantasy

  • ya were culturally sensitive to this happening to a young girl but 40 years ago it was alright 60 years ago it was normal. Its wrong sure it is but in what time and place

  • any guy who says he's never been attracted to an underage girl before is lying

  • I'll see your mother on Dateline, ass-blister.

  • not gaypeople :D

  • eurkkkkk !!! i had worked in a restaurant and the headmaster said all the time : " you look like a little Lolita, not all the little lolita , but Nabokov 's lolita !!" i had never heard about this book but when i 'had read it , i was disgusted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He became very strange with me so i prefered leave the restaurant for another job.... Museum.... and BINGO !!! some visitors cames all the time to museum and give me a lot of present ( that was cool) but they was at least 50 years

  • @jigglyfidda125 true dat true dat

  • everyone keeps saying that she's 12, which she was in the book, but i thought they made it fourteen in both movies?

  • 0:06

    She has a nice ass.

  • 0:05 might work better.

  • SO GREEEAT SCENE!!

    THANK U!!!

  • I think the acting was wonderful. especially Dominique. a 15 year old, playing a 12 year old, she was really conviincing.

  • i love this movie!

  • I wouldn't call them our "heroes" exactly...

    aha

  • Comment removed

  • ah...gosh.

  • mikeuntstinks and aelinore are both eloquent and persuasive in their points. it's hard for me to decide how i feel about the novel lolita. i felt many emotions as i read through it; i also thought often of my youth and of other young girls i would have considered to be nymphets. i think american culture gives a very slanted view of young girls; they are to remain prim and proper till marriage, but everything in the media encourages the opposite. in my opinion, neither is desired or natural.

  • Oh please. If u play with fire expect to get burned. It doesn't get any simpler than that. Nobody is blaming her for anything, but she did seduce him knowing full well he can be manipulated. He was in love with her and powerless. She could have just ran or told a cop but stuck around getting money for movies? Pocket change? Doesn't make sense unless she was intentionally working him over for money. Humbert doesn't paint her as a nymph, she is a nymph, a siren.

  • First, you have the wrong definition of nymphet. Humbert described a nymphet as a sexually provocative (not promiscuous) girl. She was hardly working him over for money since she rarely had any and eventually was able to run away and lived in poverty rather than go back to him. He had all the power. She was terrified to leave him - where would a 12 year old girl go? He told her he would send her to juvenile hall or a reformatory, which terrified her even more. Humbert was powerless? Hardly!

  • If she will not permit Humbert, he will not "hurt" her. Simple. Btw, she was happy in that situation. Look at Lolita's character, even without Humbert she will end like at the end of the movie.

  • She may have been flirting but she certainly did not ask to become his sexual plaything. She felt dirty and culpable for what happened between them, never mind that she never consented to the relationship, never mind that he left her sobbing, that he had to wrestle her into bed (have you read the book??!) and he had her in a terror of police officers, spooking her with lurid stories about what they would do with "girls like her". Why don't abused women leave their husbands?

  • Saying "If you play with fire, expect to get burned' is, in fact, laying the blame at her feet. "Oh, she flirted with him, so she deserved what she got." The whole point of the story is that, to Lolita, she was playing at being a grown up, and Humbert took advantage of her crush and forced her into an adult situation she despised. Yes, she could have ran away, I suppose - but where, when he had made her afraid to leave. She didn't feel safe to do so until she had somewhere else to go to.

  • She was playing at being a grown up and so she got herself a grown up situation. Flirting? Sex is way past flirting. She opened Pandora's box herself. And when you have someone who is that infactuated with you its always hard to shake loose. In the end he was still powerless because she had what he wanted. She realized that and used it against him. The only shackles were in her mind never physical. Don't paint her to be so innocent. I read the book and I have the action figures too

  • But as the adult, he should have maintained self control and pushed himself away from her, despite her actions. Like any child, she mimicks adults without truly understanding her actions completely. In her situation, acting like that in the wrong hands have hindered her maturity.

  • She thinked for herself, watch at her in the other scenes. She definitely knows what she's doing.

  • Vladimir described the storyline as 'Not a corrupt adult manipulating a weak child, but a corrupt child manipulating a weak adult'

You can defy that all you want, but whats the point in fighting over your own opinions and not fact?

In this book, Vladimir challenged peoples perceptions of paedophilia, i.e. can he really be a paedophile if he is defenceless against such a strong character. I think its fairly obvious in this scene that Lolita is the strong character in the pairs relasionship.

  • "Fact?"

There is no "fact". Just because the author intended the story to be read in one way doesn't mean that everyone has to agree with his way of reading it. Just because he wrote it doesn't mean he's interpreting it "correctly".

There is no "correctly." Go read Roland Barthes' 'Death of the Author'.

  • There Is Fact.

The 'Fact' Is The Way Vladimir Intended People To Undertad His Characters. You Cant Say The Author Wanted Us To Think Humpbert Was A Paedophile When Tht Wasnt His Intention At All. I Suggest You Stop Instructing People On How To Percept The Characters.

  • Actually, babiiemmii, the quote you mentioned above was uttered by novelist Robertson Davies, not Nabokov (who never defended the actions of his Humbert). And you mustn't forget that Humbert is the narrator of the story, so our perceptions of Dolores are filtered through his eyes (and his sense of self-preservation). So was Dolores the aggressor? Depends on if you believe the poetic musings of a literary man with severe paranoia and a stunted sexual past.

  • The way I see it, Dolores is acting the way one would expect a girl of her age to act (testing boundaries, defying authority, being sexually curious) in the only world she knows (the one Humbert has created and imprisoned her in).
