  • Umm, the 3D works but... for cross-eyed viewing shouldn't the image for the right eye be on the left side and the one for the left eye be on the right side? The current order works better for parallel viweing.

  • Cute family.

  • The guys thats talking with the wife sounds like hes making a porn video. hes like "Oh yeh" "That looks good" "Thank you very much" I mean cmon?

  • @ReverseVideozFTW Your comment says more about you than my video ;)

  • @nytram1309 Exactly. Porn is only in the eye of some beholders when there isn't any there. (lol)..

  • For a first attempt I thought this was really good, I saw the 3D effect easily :)

  • Are all of those people are your relatives?

  • On crosseyed. The right video is blury, colors are les intensive, black is grey

It realy hurts in brait when watching two so diferent videos by each eye...

    Horrible done

  • @kokotacz ... Like it says ... it was my first attempt !!!!! Hand holding two different kinds of camera!!!! Check out my latest effort ... shot using two iPod Nanos ... it's much better. However, I must say, I and lots of other people see this video in 3D with no problem ... the colour intensity etc has nothing to do with the 3D viewing

  • the two camer thing threw it off a lil bit... just easier to use one camera and double the video on itself

  • I simply crossed my eyes and it looked very nice.

  • @LGreen1995 Please see my latest effort, shot using 2 iPod Nanos ... much better result than this!!

  • your 3d angles were hard to see in cross-eyed. btw nice job

  • muy bueno en especial lo del baget

  • GRAPE JUICE : )

  • don't seem to have quite mastered the angles, barely looked 3D to me

  • Awesome. I used the Intel 3D Glasses I still have (amber / blue). The section with your wife is terrible. The cameras are too far apart. The opening and violin part are pretty nice, but you can see in the violin part your setup needs to be more stable.

  • awesome violin!

  • We've been covering 3D on video at some Hollywood events... what camera set up did you use...

  • 5 STARS for effort.

    1 star for result.

  • The image was quite different, and they weren't perfectly in-sync, but extra points for effort and the lovely lady playing the violin. =D

  • I think this is brilliant! The only thing I can suggest to improve it is that maybe a longer angle (rather than close up) would put all of the scene in focus so that the observer can choose any part of the scene and find it is in focus. Tricky, I conceed, in a kitchen! I felt that that was the only failure of Avatar. The audience is "forced" to watch one focal plane whereas in real life they can choose to look where they like.

  • i dont understand why is that the 3d glasses from the movie theater dont work on youtube videos?

  • Because the new 3D films use a polarising projection system ... there is a new laptop from Acer with a 3D screen ... so things ARE happening!

  • @arian50

    Are your glasses gray?

If so they are polarized. And your computer screen is not.

Perhaps in the future they will be.

Or better! They might look different from different angles. So no glasses will be needed.

I've seen it in real life.

  • @arian50

    I know, it's really weird!

  • It's off a bit.

  • if i am cho0se a cross-eye, why the 2 pix is REALLY DIfferent ? U R using a different cam ?

  • Yes ... please read the notes to the right! :) Martyn

  • i wanna do the 3D video thing, and i have to get a second (SAME) camera to beat my eyeballs :D

  • I find the angles that were filmed at are just a tad too far apart. The part where the woman brings stuff towards the camera works good, but it ghosts about a bit. When going crosseyed, the images just barely mismatch. With a bit of tinkering around you'd have a much stabler image!

  • Please see my latest efforts ... this was my 1st attempt almost 2 years ago!

  • great work!

  • i cant get this one.. i prefer the twin image then cross eyed

  • Which viewing option did you have selected?

  • this video rocks!

I can see it perfect! (always been good at crosseying ^^)

    keep it up man!

  • lol All those people who thought our cross-eyeing abilities were useless! Bet they wish they could cross-eye right now :D lol

  • Came back to enjoy this again.

  • you may need to do a bit more studying on the topic of stereography because its not quite right on some bits... the effect can be different from person to person but normally the cameras should be positioned 6.5cm apart, measuring from the centre of the lenses. To achieve optimal effects you should be in good lighting and also have something in the foreground of the subject matter with a good depth between the subject and back ground...its a good effort, better then others ive seen

  • As it says in the notes to this video, I simply hand held a couple of cameras as an experiment. The distance between the lenses, or the 'stereo base', doesn't have to be 6.5cm ... it can actually be anything depending on the effect you're trying to achieve. It's 'not quite right on some bits' because it's impossible to set the zooms to the same setting without linking two similar cameras electronically, and also because the cameras were hand held and not mounted on a slide bar.

  • I was just giving some sound advice because this was a good first try...and considering you were just holding the cameras the effect is good...6.5cm is the preference industry standard but it does depend on the equipment etc being used. thats why i said to study a bit more on stereography...i wasnt dissing your video, as i said its better then others ive seen and they have tried to do it properly

  • Jeremy ... you've commented on a video uploaded almost 2 years ago. Please check out my later efforts ... I guess 3D Bike is one of the better efforts. For anyone interested in learning more about all this, including setting the stereo window depth, avoiding window violations, setting the stereo base and such, check out this forum on the web ... 3dphotodotnet

  • Another vital point to note on the 6.5cm you suggest ... this will only apply if the focal length of the camera lenses is set to replicate human vision ... generally, if you're zoomed in on the subject, the stereo base must be increased to maintain a natural steroscopic effect. You can study it in great depth at 3dphotodotnet ... pun intended ;)

  • I find mild hyperstereo much more interesting then scientifically correct stereoscopy.

  • cross splitting an image does not make it stereographically 3d. This video is epic fail!

  • Hi there, could you please explain to us all what you mean? The guys below all seem to have seen the video in 3D ... what do you mean by 'cross-splitting'?

  • i like the cutting bread part lol

  • O_O Her hands grabbed me when I was cross eyein'!

  • Woohoo it's like she's going to poke my eye out with that bread. :D But it's hard to focus on cross-eyed...

  • Her hand's comin' ter get me! XD

The first one had a weak perspective, but the others look pretty good. :)

  • Really good work

  • the lag on the right side makes it hard to focus for long.

  • More likely to be the hand held cameras ... the lag cannot be more than 1/30th second. See some of my later attempts ... like the 3D bike video ... would love to see your efforts :)

  • uhm no thanks

  • Hi, how do you upload a video to youtube that has the 3D viewing style?

  • YAH!

    HOW!!

    I WANT TO KNOW!

  • put yt3d:enable=true in the tags on one of your videos

  • but how does youtube know where to split the video or how do you upload two videos together?

  • youtube copies the video and pastes it beside it and then trims part of the left video

  • Sorry Mdiggit ... not quite right ... for 3D videos there are always 2 films shot from different cameras ... I use 2 cameras, put the video side by side in QT Pro, and then upload to YT ... does that help?

  • the effect is ruined by the quality of the vid

  • Do you mean my camera work? Or are you not watching the HQ version?

  • holy crap

  • "Thank u very much." haha

  • bullshit... thats the stuff u tell lil children to stop making silly faces ^^

if can teach ur eyes to focus cross-eyed, why shouldnt they be able(learn) to focus normally again, duh?

  • its not so hard :D

  • Suckish

  • it works without the adobe flash player but its blurry and small

  • i do they crossed eye one and now my eyes feel all weird but it works really good!!!

  • a tip for people trying to view this: make your eyes see it blured, then try to cross your eyes to mach up the blurred shapes, then unblur

  • thanks

  • i can do all that except unblur. :P

  • Salutations nytram1309!

Have you tried adding the yt3d:enable=true tag to this video?

    Yours Sincerely

    A Sir Wheatstone Buff

  • Hi ... not sure what you mean ... not sure what I should expect ... can you explain please? Thanks Martyn

  • This doesnt work nearly as well as the pictures do for me, but I also just figured out how to do it today.

  • i so confused...

  • a bit difficult to focus on at first, but very good once i got it. i think it had to do with the fact that the cameras were not the same quality, so the framerates were not matching up right.

  • ебать, ты б лучше шлюх заснял через такое гавно, можно было посмотреть, а тут хуетень пиздец, глаза заболели

  • One tip in making these videos/images is to separate them a little, leaving a little black space in between them. This makes it easier for your eyes to separate and focus in on the middle image.

  • A good tip ... but when these were uploaded YouTube video sizes were quite restrictive ... and the 3D stuff ends up half size anyway ... so I didn't do that ... but yes, it does help :)

  • very low quality, maybe because of the uploading onto youtube, but really good

  • There's a link to the HQ version in the notes to the right :)

  • how come ots all blurry i tried to focus on the third one really hard and it was still blurry

  • That's because you need to learn the trick of separating your focus distance from the angle of convergence of your eyes ... in everyday life they're connected but to freeview you need to learn to control them independently. When you can do it the middle image will appear very very sharp and clear ... better than the originals even!!

  • actually i think the reason its blurry for him is because your filming was ever so slightly off, for 2 reasons:

    1. on almost all of the videos one picture was a little UNDER the other one, like in the juice pouring video. On the left video you can see the bottom of the glass and on the right you cant. This means that you have to tilt your head a little or else it doesn't work (blurry)

    2. your videos are a little laggy, makes the one in the middle look weird when played (also blurry)

  • Hi there :) Yes, you can read in my notes that I was holding the cameras side by side and trying to keep them aligned as best I could. Other 3D videos on my channel were shot with both cameras mounted on a plate.

Lag cannot affect the 3D effect here as there's only 1 video file ... if lag is a problem, both left and right will pause at the same moment. If you have a slower internet connection, please wait until the whole video has loaded then click the play button :)

  • i dont mean lag of the video itself, i mean the lag between the video files in this video. during the later violin part, her hand on the right side is moving up and down a little before the left side, im pretty sure thats no the youtube video lagging

  • Hi again ... ah ha yes ... I was using 1 camera shooting at 15fps and another shooting at 30fps. So I can get to within 1/30th second when syncronising the videos. For me there's no easy way to get it exact ... that would require a dedicated 3D stereo video camera. At the end of the day, it was a first effort using 2 different hand held cameras :)

  • beautiful women!

  • 0:42

    Shes quite good !

  • the color difference is so great my mind doesn't want to force it to one image.

  • Have a look at some of my other videos ... the colour balance is due to having used 2 different cameras :( Actually shouldn't make any difference though ... I mean, anaglyph 3D actually uses two different colour filters!

  • hey, i liked this.

but, while that lady makes the hand trick, i can't focus both face and hand...

    congrats!

  • Thanks :) But even in real life you can't focus on both the hands AND the face in a situation like that ... that's one cue that gives us 3D information.

  • btw, that's a really good work! my best wishes for the future!

  • Interesting. You really should be using two identical cameras, though. The disparity makes it hard to maintain a focus point.

  • Yes of course ... I was just away from home on holiday playing with the idea ... see my other videos where I've used 2 similar cameras :)

  • Could u give me some tips where i could make my own but which i can use my 3d glaases please? its kinda urgent ^^ thankx A LOT! id really appreciate ur help!

  • amazing, i didn't know my eyes could do this :)

  • to much hard work for a blurry 3d image

  • If you're not getting a very sharp 3d image then you've not mastered free-viewing ... when combined, the resulting 3d image appears much much sharper than the original clips. Making the videos is quite easy when you know what you're doing ... and viewing them is very easy when you can do it!

  • Fine 3D and a winsome violinist.

    Five stars.

  • So nice to see the 3D! You're a pioneer! I have great hopes for this.

  • Thanks for the kind comments!!

  • A good way to block those two residual left and right images is making a V with your fingers and holding it right up to your eyes. Blocking so creates a left and right border so her hand, bread and banana come forward from the frame.

  • ouch, she poked my eye with the bread!!!!

  • Ok, just got into 3D viewing. NICE first attempt man. There are like times where the effect isn't there. But the bread part, when she reaches out to the screen is amazing. One of the best parts of 3d viewing I've seen

  • WHAT!?!?

when i try cross my eyes with my finger i see the back ground is blur i cant see it!

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

  • i think thats not cross eyed ^^ its parallel ^^

  • No sorry ... it's definitely cross-view ... the film taken with the camera that was on the right is shown on the left and visa versa

  • Really good 3D! Parts of it reminded me of that SCTV bit with Count Floyd and the 3D movie.

  • Martyn,

    Encouraging and charming!

    Art

  • Nice job! Are both cameras similar models? I would suggest putting both cameras on a cheap metal cross piece mounted with turn screws for stability and alignment, since there is some shakiness noticeable from one camera and not the other.

  • Lol .... noooo ... I'm on holiday and have been using my camera along with one that my daughter brought along. The lenses are at different heights, different frame rates, different zooms lol ... all hand held!

When I get home the plan is to 'obtain' two similar cameras and mount them on a home made steady cam so that I can move around smoothly. So I suppose it's watch this space :) Thanks for the reply .... Nytram1309

  • I would recommend trying to get identical cameras with serial numbers one digit apart if possible, as I've read that this tends to result in more similar operation and sync.
