It almost sounds like you watched the first few episodes only from that review. Lucky Star is a bird that rides on the tailwind of Haruhi's popularity, true, but a lot of the comedy I think is lost during translation. They say the plot in Lucky Star is 'character-driven' as opposed to 'story driven', but I think that other series like Azumanga Daioh did it better.
hey its funny sometimes i enjoyed it it picture the real life story of otaku so if u really an anime lover better dont miss it beside can u not explain why the so called 'awful' anime got until 25 episode?(mind u if they are not popular they only go until 12 only) so watch it
I'm gonna politely disagree. Firstly, a lot of bad shows get lots of episodes so that proves nothing. Secondly, no, the lives of "real life otaku" are a lot more interesting than this. If I wanted to hear people have random conversations and make anime references, I have real friends for that.
well its ur preferences i have frends from jap that is also otaku, and they like and enjoyed the show they even cosplaying as the Lucky Star character in most of their cosplaying event...whether a show is bad or not it is up to viewer, for you its suck and for some other its not
The only real funny part of the show is the Lucky Channel at the end which only lasts about five minutes. I can only really guess that half their audience are the Haruhi Suzumiya fans who just blindly buy into anything the creators make.
I stand by what I said, "It's like Anzu Manga Daiho, but with out the pacing." Dammit, I was hoping this video would have been longer after the blind rage that came after we first watched it XD
The show has more plot than most shows, considering it could really happen... except for the random fire stuff and other visual effects.

Well, now I know what I'm missing out on by not watching this show, lol. Thanks for the heads up, Nick.

I bet they end up talking about something really engaging at the series finale... like how much ketchup hot dogs are supposed to have.
^-^ Keep up the great work Nick.

I had a feeling that this show was exactly as described. Thank you for clarifying and saving me the trouble of actually watching it, Nick

No one can deny the catchiness of the song...but yeah, the show is awful. Slice of Life at its most dull.

The Vocaloid opening parody is better. >.>
I don't think I want to see this show.. Much rather watch Azumanga Daio (sp?) and other things. That are better. ... extremely better.
... song is catchy damnit. :XD

I've heard the song a few times (*cough*) and wondered what the anime was actually like. Apparently it fit my suspicians.

The next few vids are gonna be back to regular length, no worries.
NickIzumi 2 years ago
@rtidb126 Yeah, I did kinda describe it as a variation of Azumanga Daioh myself, but it was a bit more crude and a lot more politically incorrect. :P
