I'm not a Cena basher, I just think the guy isn't that good, VERY OVERRATED. Deep down is Cena a good wrestler? Maybe. But too bad, we may never know, but if he is more talented then what he is, then it's a shame because he WILL always go down as the WWE's front boy with no talent, bad gimmick, and most of all a push down our throats that would make any hardcore wrestling fan throw up. I would hate to think he REALLY DOES suck that bad. We may never really know.
Cena doesn't suck that bad he has a lot more moves than the other guy they jammed down our throats (Hulk Hogan). I'm a fan of John Cena because he is the one there with the best work ethic though his skills leave much to be desired. I saw Cena do some great stuff before they kept dumping gimmicks on him but sadly with the WWE style he can't do many moves.
Example, WWE took MVP and made him look like shit NJPW made MVP a great rising star.
I'm not a Cena fan not a hater either, but I'll bet if he went to Japan he'd have the best matches of his career. Trust me he can do lots more than the five moves of doom and he's such a good storyteller in the ring that the Japanese fans would go crazy for his psychology. Hogan was better in Japan before and after he won the WWF title, he did dropkicks, enziguri, much more mat wrestling than he ever did in North America.
Keiji Mutoh as himself is just as awesome as his two other counterparts like Muta and the Dark Monk gimmick he played. Of course everyone knows Keiji as Muta more than anything else.
@fireproof30 please, that's like saying Undertaker and Shawn Michaels should have left their feud in the 90s. These guys are legends who can put on great matches to this day
this match was beautifully done. Hats off to both legends Mutoh and Liger! They both shined..But that shining wizard is beast!!! No one does it better..

Kind of a shit ending to a goodmatch. This Mutoh guy does shit for the entire match and grabs the rope to break Thunder's holds about 30 times. Finally, Thunder hurts himself with his own move and Mutoh pulls a double-kick desperation move to end it. Staged for sure.
you should never have the priveledge of watching this match or any other njpw ever again - cena is a chump with no talent - these 2 are immortal legends with over 20 yrs experience each

Never said that they weren't legends or that Cena was better than them. I just enjoyed that Cena match more than this one.
And I can and will watch NJPW whenever I want. In fact, I just rewatched Tanahashi vs Nakanishi rematch the other day, excellent match.
I judge matches on how much I enjoy them. I enjoyed Cena vs Edge more than this one. I guess smarks can't handle people with opinions outside the norm. Cena has had several great matches, including one with the shittiest wrestler, Batista.
well, your entitled to your opinion! for the record, i've not seen cena vs edge but i don't think i can sit through a cena match if i was paid. I just find him talentless
That's fine with me. I think Cena can be VERY good in big matches. I can definitely see why some wouldn't like him though. His promos are horrid, kiddy fanbase, limited moveset, etc.
I just enjoy a lot of different types of wrestling. For example, KENTA is my favorite wrestler at the moment, but I also think SD is a really good show.
@michiyoyoshiku good example of that being one night tand 2006 vs RVD. it was an incredible match with a horrible finish, but cena did something very few current wrestlers can't do. get booed out of the state and still put on one hell of a match.
That kinda happened in their other match. Muta ran it, Liger got unmasked....but, as he got towards the end, he tried to stab Muta...Muta countered, hit the Handspring elbow, Moonsault, finish. I woulda had Liger go over in THAT one for sure. I think they were building up the Shining Wizard as a "one hit kill" type of move. Now he uses like 9 a match!!
I remember seeing this match in 02 or 03. Even 7 years later...DAMN. I want Mutoh's Cross Wizard shirt. Liger, thought short is built like a ton of bricks as he always was. And while I was watching, I realized why the fuck is Chow Yun Fat playing Master Roshi in that shitty Dragonball movie instead of Keiji Mutoh ROFLMAO!!
Lyger is 5'9", 210 lbs, so he usually looks short against most heavyweights. Muta is about 6'2"-6'3", 245, so the size difference can be quite obvious.
I thought nobody can scream louder than JR when he scream "Stone cold. Stone cold." This guy gives JR a run for his money when he yells "Shining WIIIIIZARD."
SHIT! Mutoh looks HUGE compared to Lyger. I love how Lyger has a "heavyweight" attire...gotta love him. Nice shining wizard, the announcer went FUCKIN CRAZY, gotta love the japs
That was an awesome match. Everytime Keiji Mutoh and Jushin Thunder Liger climb into the you are guaranteed a match containing world class ring psychology and wreslting. I grew up watching these guys on Eurosport as a kid in the 90's and they are still awesome all these years later.
Ur so right about that! After all he put the cruiser weights on the map in the 1980's! When he's gone the wrestling world will indeed take a major change!
because Liger (unlike Sayama, the original Tiger Mask, got disgusted at one point and quit wrestling entirely) never stopped wrestling despite a brain tumor or even after putting 20 plus years in (he was a youngboy when Dynamite Kid and Sayama revolutionized the Junior Heavy style) and even if someone did have his style, passing the Liger mask would be too much like Tiger Mask and therefore would cheapen the gimmick. Even the 4 Tiger Masks have their own unique styles
I really liked Liger in his Battle Liger when he competed with the heavyweights instead of Juniors. I wish they let him hold the IWGP belt even for a short while.
Superb match and chemistry between these two shakers of the puroresu era. I think this is the first time since lygers brain surgery that he executed a moonsault?
muta is only 45.. he cut off his hair bcuase of a noticable bald spot he had over the years.. so he decided 2 get rid of it all. & now this is how he preforms as Keji Muta. yet he still wrestles as the Great Muta but wears a mask. He still kicks azz!!!!!
This match was great and it had an awesome finish to it. They gave it all they had up until Mutoh hit the Shinning Wizard. Liger and Mutoh are two of the best ever and this match just shows how great their chemistry and in-ring psychology is.
