Sahir Ludhianvi was a great poet his works are unparalled but never got his due .. lines like " Aaj koi baat nahi phir bhi koi baat to hai , gair ka hoke bhi ye husn mere saath to hai , hai kis waqt mujhe kab ka gila yaad aaya ... mesmarising so deep in meaning .. what a poet , long live .. compare this with trash & vulgar of today .. how time changes often from good to bad, so sad....

Brilliant!!!! Mahendra Kapoor's old songs are the very best of his career. His song from Sohini Mahiwaal - "Chand chhupa aur tare doobe raat gazab ki aayee" is a true classic. Unfortunately, his singing deteriorated as he progressed in his career.

Sahir no doubt was the ultimate shayer, he wrote from his own experiences with being in love. His language was simple yet heart wrenching. My friends say Kaifi Azmi was more powerful but I feel he is a bit more philosophical in his poetic expressions rather than incidental. On the whole, this is a classic song, I just love it.
