for those a lil put off by the birds movement i will put your mind at rest, as this bird was dead and the sign of life you saw then was just the nervous system shutting down causing it to spasm (very common) trust, i have seen these grouse! not pheasant! shot by a shotgun and they still have the odd spasm

Head shots leave all the meat... and you don't have to dig a steel/lead ball out of it while you eat... Do not say such idiotic things...
