I am having a hard time getting my Husband to start reading the bible with me (This started as me just reading the bible but i will be reading the Quran now also). He keeps saying he "isnt ready", do you think he might have that curse God speaks of? I know God says we cant force people to believe, but i want to!! lol I want him to be saved ya know. I love him. Can you give me any advice on how to deal with this?
I wonder, are their any books out there that actually compare the bible and Quran side by side in the same book? I mean the verses from each book that have to do with the other? Something like that would be awesome, Let me know if you know of any books like that please.

well, you want to be a clear and open warner about it...but you have to be balanced. once you have tactfully but clearly told them, it is up to them to do or not do what is right.

N.J Dawood's translation. It is more written for the Study of the text as a scholar then a read for the word of God. Though its translation seems to be close to the ones I have read online. As I have many versions of the Bible and even the Torah this will not be my only copy of the Quran. Also I have found a web site that has other English translations online. The web is a usefull tool.
i have not heard of that translation. does it have it broken down in verses? some translations only have every 10 verses number...those are fine for reading, but hard to quote from.

Its every 10 Versus. Thats why I use online Quran's to quote and search. I use and online Bible site for the same. Its just easier if I am looking up a topic and want to compare. I can then ref the books I have and read arround the quote and see the context.
good example of being too forceful look at the jw's are treated for the way they blasted the falsehoods of other religions. this only angered other people and led to their persecution

On further for my path I have obtained a copy of the Quran. It may not be the best copy but it was the one at the time and place I was compeled to aquire.
that's great. don't worry, there is no perfect english translation...the important thing is to have at least one. just remember that bracketed or italicized words are added...which translation did you get?

No it's a new book called Sharing Mary and you ca look it up on Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk
It's a no partial anthology with both Christains and Muslim contributors. I am eager to know is you liek it!

the best thing to do is be patient and let him see by the way it changes you. :)
you could bring up things you learn...but if you see it is irritating him, just let it go.
God will guide him, if it is in his heart to be guided.

someone else looked at that book and said that it was a book comparing things from both Holy Books...not really a Bible and Quran together.

At which point is trying to tell somebody there "wrong"/idol worshipers ect.. & forcing it at them 2 much?
I try tell my family "catholics" about graven images ect ect but just nothing from them.
