Great glimpse at McNaught! A quiz for those watching (hopefully to be answered by Phil?) -- why the dark walls in the background? a) astronomer's hobby room b) home movie theater c) excentric interior design

I suggest that any real astronomer would do the same to limit the time needed for the eyes to adjust for viewing. BTW, I cannot explain why he is using lights indoors as this would defeat the purpose of the dark walls.
(Sigh) ... I guess we'll never know.
