  • wu sao is best for hooks

  • Who are some mma fighters who use parrys effectively?

  • To those who have practiced parrying. Is it easy to parry rapid aggressive punches?

  • @CrowdPleeza

Personally; most of the time, yes.

  • why would you lean into the body punch that just a free punch to the kidney.. dumb ass

  • dont raise the elbows like that ffs...if u do like that your ribs are as good as fucked

  • i just want to learn how to know when is he gonna attack and in that way i can defend my self, in a real fight u just have to act rapidly and kinda randomly cuz u enter in panic sometimes and u throw or block randomly

    anyway NICE JOB :)

  • No kidding , the idea is for a place to start for beginers ,I'd say. Even on the defense I have fakes , maybe I'll block and maybe I''ll disregard because I have something planned myself. Thats the next step but the video is a good place for a teen or new fighter to start. You'd be suprised , most dont even know anything.

I think for 1.5 min or so its a great video.

  • Perfect

  • short fuck,Im sure he trained really hard because of his height must be a big insecurity. And im sure it still is,even has the smurf voice to go with it.

  • @DrinkUpJohny hahaha

  • Why a nigger learn this shit...shot him

  • I can't believe that this video is from expert village. THis video is so freakin good

  • ive learned multiple ways to block but i never learned that parry thing before that was really cool thank you

  • MYCHAL u tha MAN!!

  • in a real fight if you rolled into a body shot your kidney would explode in a real fight against a true martial artist if you through a simple fake or discraction to this guy and he weaved or did a block to my fake it would be extremely easy to come with a quick kick and win or come up with a knee to his face in a weave

  • @ripstic976 keep in mind this is the bare basics. Counters and feints are for advanced fighters. Have to start somewhere...

  • great videos mate keep them up... i do mma but its always good to look back at the basics

  • gd video chrz

  • well you hit him very very slow so he can react....how i can react when the other guy hit me quikly??

  • @odyandgeo practice faster

  • Perry, Perry FUCKING DAVE!

  • All I have to say is I love these videos from expertvillage. It has taught me so much about fighting moves and what to do in situations. Keep it up with these videos. These trainers/professionals are amazing

  • that black guys got a huge ass man

  • what about uppercut?

  • Man I hate commercials. Nice blocking instructional vid. Didn't cover uppercuts but still good instructions.

  • man I hate comercials :( Nice block instructions missed uppercuts but still very good. thanks

  • 1:21 wouldve gotten you K.Oed with a late reaction like that, but i guess it was unexpected. nice vid. 5/5

  • nice

  • ill secound that 187murdera its tuff

  • 1 word....legit.

half of the time, the instructors in expertvillage are clueless or aren't well versed.......but I'll take exception here.

That is, after all, basic defense

  • hey i need some small help. some dude siad hes gunna (try) to beat me up tomorrow. well im a black belt. but i havent done anything in a while and ive heard the dude is real crazy. help me so i wont geta bloody nose or other crap :D

  • run away, get some friends, cheapshopt,buy him a beer,buy a gun,buy a pitbull

  • take him to the ground and ground and pound if your not good standing up its the best thing to do get full mount he wont know how to deffened it and start unloading on the bitch

  • haha that sounds fun, but i just wanna get him down with a few shots.....

  • it is when we have beatdowns at school and i dont want to get hurt i take them down and i make them tap but in your case you got a bully so make him your pent house bitch

  • lol that sounds good

  • how did it go?

  • he didnt get me yet. im just gunna wait for him to make the first move cause its easier to block then hit the face :P

  • How did the fight go?

  • LMFAO!!! Good luck dont act like a punk

  • lol punks are retarded. how do u think would win. crazy punk guy, or black belt in TKD????

  • but hes just gonna get hit in the gut thats even worst if somone trys this there gonna be really damn pissed off lol

  • against a Hook Punch i would just move into my opponent (yeah i use Wing Chun)

  • " They can roll with the punches. Long as they feels like they're in control "

  • nice thanks

  • ducking under is harder if you are taller then the guy throwing the hook punches.

  • idk, the perry seems a bit hard if its full speed in a real fight, it would be redirected to your stomach or sumthin

  • Blocking punchs like this, that is why we see a lot of fighters w MMA style knocked out easily..!! I prefer Step back or side lightly and deflect at same time...Look at Lyoto Machida n Cung Le, they have never been knoked out...cause of their style to get away from punches.

Blocking like this on streets w out gloves, dammnt..your nose will be bleeding man...Boxing Punches are good but Blocks no way...!!

  • yeah thats auctually quite true...most of this blocking only works if u have gloves on making it impractical for street fighting but for sport its a different story

  • try it........then talk

  • @nickfingers

he said basic defense dude.... and we saw how far avoiding got lyoto against shogun

  • This is silly look at da size difference.

  • it may sound weird, but i tend to have the habbit of actually stopping the punch movement altogether, by simply blocking the movement with putting my own hand/fist around their upper arm.

or jab inside someones straight to make him miss and use his momentum (typo?) to crack a nice straight into his face. may sound weird, but heck so am i

  • its not that easy jus blockin punches off in a real fight the other guy fuckin fakes alotta shit b4 hes guna unload a power punch to ur dome

  • yeah i wouldn't weave personally because i just dont trust im fast and accurrate enough. best to side step or move bak slightly.

if ppl are as quick as bruce lee then...

  • best is just to keep ur hands up and dunt let em fall the whole fight the guy will throw less face shots if he sees you're hands are up and defending

  • true

  • i get what you're saying, but you can't really evade or block a fake, so the best u can do is learn to evade and block the real hits.

  • @187murdera Well no, of course it isn't so easy in the frenzy of a fight. This is a completely controlled situation, the purpose of which is to demonstrate.

  • @187murdera hes parrying jabs, not the kinds of punches your thinking of

  • btw all lines are straight lol

  • lol i wud neva weave in mma

    weave=knee to the head

  • There not allowed to knee you when you duck like that in official mma

  • EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!

He shows the basic blocks and how to train them with a partner in 1 1/2 min. Nice job!

  • what if he attacks ur abs or chest?

  • only thing is when a punch comes to your ribs you don't move in to expose the ribs even more you move the elbow outwards so the arm connects with the punch rather than expose vital organs.

  • question, i always hear that you are never supposed to bob and weave in mma because you get kicked/kneed in the face...please explain why u should!

  • i belive that is true but it only applies to fighters who can make good combos with punches knees and kicks, otherwise u will be moving too fast for him to instantly change his planned move, thats why its important to know your opponent and not repeat u own moves, always keep u opponent guessing, but when u fight against a strong ground fighter with good takedowns u should never put too much weight on the punches incase he tries too take u down when u punch.. and make sure too have quick feet ^^

  • it depends. Don't make a habit of it. Fon't be predictable. An effective bob will make the guy miss and cause him to waste more energy and possibly leave him open for a counter

  • leaning or rolling with the strikes do leave you open opposite side but you SHOULD be quick enough to either strike after the parry or have good enough footwork to move out of reach.

  • Those body shots aren't really good but they're basic. Cause when you lean into a punch with the same side as he is hitting, that leaves a wide open shot from the opposite side to hit him directly in the stomach

  • I dont like the body shot defence, its better to move into the punch and block with ur guard. What hes doing is exposing his body for a clean hit, and by turning around is giving his opponent a shot that can fuck up his internal organs. In sparring I have landed shots where this guy is open, and dropped guys, with 16oz gloves, imagine if it was with mma gloves.

  • fuck, i'm still gunna get jacked in the face this friday

  • so how did it end up?

  • Are you still alive?

  • hahahah

  • apparently you got f*cked up projectpat18

  • tks

  • now i dont haf to pay $ for taking any fighting classes, a class that teaches MMA would cost a lot of $.

  • very nice, only i miss the uppercut defense

  • is a very good video, good job!

  • the jab blocks look very efective but with the hook blocks looks like he's leaving the back of his head open and a very effective block I use in tae kwon do brings the fore arm out in a quick motion to stop the punch plus is very uncomfterable to the person throwing the punches

  • but the getting hit in the back of the head isnt a worry as it is illegal in MMA

  • This is an awsm vid!

  • Very good, help me a lot.

  • great great video.. good information

  • Excellent defense for punches and kicks too. Thank you.

  • thx!!

  • gd .

  • sweet

  • nice man

  • thkens!
