The original wasn't written about life it was written about Richie Valenze who sings La Bamba, he died in a plane crash with Buddy Holly in the 50's and the day he died the news papers read "The day the music died" just like it was stated in the song. It's a classic song and it was killed with a early 21st century cheap beat. Songs don't need hardcore bass's to be upbeat. The original was upbeat and amazing.
