That fire orbital was fucking great! I've been checking out poi videos a lot lately, just started really getting into spinning with my new sock poi I got last christmas; I'm dying to get it down like I've been seeing in videos. Must practice!
with wics you can not mix colors on the same wic because it will destroy the wic much faster and you should also not use colow fuel on a wic that has burned regular fuel because it will mess the wic up and muddy the color.. also its easy to make color flame. my friend makes it for when we use flame. for green i believe it is just borax mixed with ethyl alchohal
You make this look too easy. I gave up on poi after I got a blackeye, two busted lips, and countless. But because of you and your videos, I just may find the courage to pick up my strings once more.
I´ve tried this but I got one problem. I didn´t get the fire to burn very long and it was easy to put out only by spinning it... I think I´ve to let the wicks stay in the fuel longer... I had the wicks in the fuel for about an hour.
it went out so quickly,,from either the speed i was spinning or the fuel didn't have the power to sustain itself for long
i had an open table with prefueled sticks/ chain balls , that i would rotate , when preforming,,i havnt played with fire in years ,, i live in a tourist town again i might get back into it,,Vancouver
Gotta agree with you on the 'motionless' flames. When colored fire is best when moving as fire and not moving by someone else spinning something or swinging something.
Although a fire-whip with green flame would be pretty awesome to see too. A little explosion of green fire as it cracks.
tanks, i find out by my self, is borax, HBr, acid boric, to make the green fire, i dont know how corrosive it is, but if the PH is on 7 to 10, perhaps it can waste your chains and your kevlar fasted, and for other colors i think that for orange you can try NaCl, salt of table, clorate of sodim, sooo good luck whith your mixes
oh my, what was that move called near the end? when the poi are wrapped together, spinning in a circle and your just looking at it. i need to learn that!
ok, it loojs beautifull, but, which chemical substance are you using, im asking this because i want to know howw hot is the flame, i am studing chemestry, i can tell you if you tell me the name of the substance, and sorry for my english,
cool, hadnt found a good video on those yet. do you think the color would even be noticeable on smaller wicks/flames? seems most evident at rest when the flame is large. still very very cool.
Yes, I think you need to be careful about the wicks. I don't think you can use the same wick with both colors?
And Mrwho5150: I don't get it, what are you jealous of? Playing with poi is no more fun now than it was when I first started. Being good doesn't really feel any better than being a beginner. Being good at poi doesn't solve your problems! :)
@meenik nods i honestly wish i could go back when i was just begining cause every time i did a move it was free and origonal its the most beautiful thing i think seeing somone just picking up a pair of poi ^^
@runwiththepack i TOTALLY agree! i remember when i first got a move down i was like "I DID IT!" and now its a struggle to keep spinning and not do the same moves over and over and over...
@meenik Agreed, my whole group is better than me but I love poi all the same. I appreciate having other people to watch and have something to look up to, moves to want to learn. Orbitals and stalls were what made me want to learn in the first place, but once i got them down I needed to learn crossers, theres always more to learn with poi. That's the best part.
Do you recommend any other of the flame colors? And would you need a set of poi for each color, so as not to mix the fuels on the wicks? And as usual, Thanks so much for all you share with the world!!!
Is it just me, or when he get's going does it look like he's swinging lightsabers on ropes?
Gotta love poi.

, when i was fire juggling /spinning fire
it went out so quickly,,from either the speed i was spinning or the fuel didn't have the power to sustain itself for long
i had an open table with prefueled sticks/ chain balls , that i would rotate , when preforming,,i havnt played with fire in years ,, i live in a tourist town again i might get back into it,,Vancouver
do you know of any shops??
i would appreciate it

I have a question.. how many times can you use fire poi? As much as you want? or does the wick burn out eventually?
Partyywizard 2 years ago
the wick will eventually burn out but you can get about 1m for £5. That should be enough to re-wick both poi 3 times

I think it would look pretty cool with one wick green, and another wick normal. Alternating colors. :D

Hyperloop/Orbitals. They're one of the more advanced moves mainly because they concentrate on a wrap on the chain.
