My second day of boot camp, January 21, 1981, we were taken on a tour of MCRD San Diego, which included the archway, and the platoon area of the TV show, which was being used as a PT gear storage unit. Cheered me up a little, until my training started (grimace).

In a deleted scene, after Nabor's head was shaved, Nabors turned around to look again, turned back with a mortified look of absolute disbelief on his face. It was hilarious! :D!
