i..always catch myself listening to this song. i remember when i first heard it, i was in a terrible mood..quite suicidal, and i was listening to the song "Raw" then i decided to fast forward through it.. as soon as i got half way through this song i started balling. Staind has helped me get through so much of the pain that i've dealt with over just, almost 14 years. sometimes the stress gets so bad that i think about killing myself but then i remember i won't die withought meeting Aaron Lewis.

I fell asleep listening to the CD. Heard something i hadn't heard, but knew it was Staind. I got up and looked at the display timer and was like oh shyyyyt. A hidden track. But the song fit me so well back then. I know all the words and sing it in my car sometimes thinkn bout all memories that song brings to me. Just like many of the songs Staind has done.
The pain he holds in himself, keeps him for truly moving on, and he can't hold onto anyone for too long, because of the pain he hides. He basically is trying to open his heart to a girl.

This song expresses me well. I'm so tired of pretending and pushing through pain for nothing. And I'd rather die than hurt people with the truths they choose to turn away from. Their ignorance will be the death of me, while it gives them happiness.. and that's fine. It's all such literal symbolism, if you know what I mean.

Wow very well said, I can relate as my best friend was ripped out of my life, she is a victim of Monarch Programming (a form of Trauma based mind control introduced to this country from the Nazis via Operation paperclip) and of my own mistakes. I relate to this as well big time.

Aaron lewis said he recorded this while sitting on the stairs, and at 38 seconds he is opening a bottle of wine, thats what the pop noise was.. even though he doesn't drink anymore, just smokes the weed!!! Just a lil Tid Bit for you all :)

I fell asleep listening to the CD. Heard something i hadn't heard, but knew it was Staind. I got up and looked at the display timer and was like oh shyyyyt. A hidden track. But the song fit me so well back then. I know all the words and sing it in my car sometimes thinkn bout all memories that song brings to me. Just like many of the songs Staind has done.

So this song is called "Excess Baggage" not Black Rain. Black Rain is a song that hasn't been recorded that Aaron will play live. It's awesome.
