Future wish: Divelight waterproofing, and extra rugged. For caves, some lights use magnetic switches, making waterproofing easier. Like a rotating magnet on a ring, where in one position it throws a switch through the aluminum housing.
Either way, I am a backer, and have my order for the first Flex.
I thought this was supposed to use two 18650 batteries. Will it still be able to put out 500 lumens (1.6 amps) with only one battery? How hard would it be to make a longer flashlight with two batteries?
@hbhbhbhb Isn't that LED rated to 1000 lumens max? Would it be possible to make a version that uses two or three batteries and puts out the full 1000 lumens?
@oisiaa No idea what the LED is rated to, but it's limited to 500 lumens because of heat coming from the LED I believe (no clue what the proper terms are :p)
I saw this on Kickstarter and as much as it it difficult to machine a solid blank (like the originals were made) from I'd rather have one from that then one from a hollow blank, like they are produced now
@uvcrwjjfdsjew No need to. Fenix has a *GREAT* bike-light holder for their torches, that should fit perfectly for this one. I use it for mounting my Fenix PD30 to my bike, and definetely will use it to mount this baby as soon as it's ready and delivered. :-)
I know the warm/cool LED topic has been hot lately but I just want to say that this has got me even more excited about the Flex. I can't wait to get mine!
@xamindar I am not a huge lightbulb expert, but I saw people requesting the warm LED and looked it up and it looked good. Any reason why you prefer the standard LED? Just asking, maybe that is the way to go. Thanks
@Joeg6791 The "standard" cool LED has always looked better in my opinion. It is also much brighter than a warm version of the same LED. I think most people prefer the cool LEDs but the ones who want the warm ones are just louder about it.
@xamindar I thought that if the lumen count was the same on the warm and cool, then they would be equally as bright, but if the cool one is brighter then I would rather have that. I do like the plain silver on, though.
Really nice!

What kind of programming do you do on a flashlight?!?!?!

Awesome! It looks great and answered my questions about how water resistant it would be. I also liked the Micro USB connector.

@oisiaa Having one 18650 has always been the plan

I think my girlfriend is gonna want one, too. Oh, and making it mountable as a bike-light would be super-awesome.

Nice. I hope you decide to make some silver ones and consider the warm LED, if that's feasible.

@Joeg6791 Please no warm LED, unless it is optional.
