Apart from the totally amazing BJM this film itself is awesome. One cam but all the right shots which just adds to the mesmeric atmosphere.

I was at that show in Brooklyn where their shit got stolen. Anton was more fucked up than I've ever seen him. They played a 30 minute version of Swallowtail and the management of the venue, "North 6" (now the Williamsburg Music Hall), had to turn up all the lights and cut the sound to make Anton leave the stage. I don't think its an act, he's the real deal. I think people over exagerate the stories and sensationalize him but I don't think he himself does. New album coming soon!

Unfortunately, that's one of the pitfalls of being a touring band. It happens to a lot of people and it's always shitty.

Don't worry though- Anton's doing quite well for himself despite their lack of major label success. I saw them live just this past Wednesday and they had their ridiculous collection of VOXes and Teisco's and shit in tow.

Yeah, I saw them twice on this USA tour so far. amazing, memorable performances. I don't think anton wants to be on a major label (he hates them and he has his own now) but yeah like you said, they are doing well in the equipment department. Frankie's 12 string tear drop is beautiful. I would think anton would be getting enough money to live of off and i don't know how well though, but most of his music is for sale now a days, like it should be. All in all, they seem to be doing well.

BJM is playing in 2007, tonight in San francisco. They are far from dead. In 2006 they played a show here that was magical. They were wicked tight and the sold out crowd went wild.
