BOGUS!!!!!! This is not a true California Special!!! First of all, they were only built in 1968. This car has a '67 mustang grill, no side lite markers on the front fenders ('67), no side reflectors on the read quarters ('67), and it has a '67 interior. This is a CLONE!!!!
How can this guys keep a straight face while he lies through his teeth? It's a FAKE California Special. It's a great car, but it is absolutely NOTHING CLOSE to a GT/CS. WRONG hood locks, WRONG tail lights, WRONG YEAR!!! How pathetic can it get?
I'm a GT/CS owner and i am very insulted by this video.
Another thing.....they have original tail lights on this `67 coupe.....a `68 Mustang CS has `65 Thunderbird tail lights. What a chisling chump this lad is!!!
He changed the add....used to say '67 Ford Mustang California Special.....now says '68. What a chump! Look at the back fender, no marker light.....it is a '67 coupe advertised now, as a '68 CS. This guy can't even get his lies straight. "68 is the first year manufacturers had to put side marker lights on the rear fender, and '68 is the only year a CS was made. VERY NICE `67 coupe though.
i love your videos, cars & shop...great project...cool ride...awesome hobby that continues to be so priceless to the enthusiast...i love ol' skool nostalgia...thanks for sharing! i'm currently building a 68' eleanor shelby convertible...slowly...lol : )
I bought a 1968 Mustang Coup for $30,000 from a guy in Burbank, California at a car show. Let's just say that was the best $30,000 I've ever spent. I was ready to pay $40,000 or more for it.
@Flemingsclassics This dealership has no idea how to honestly price any car in their inventory. You can go to the Mecum auto auction and save $5,000 - 20,000 across the board. How do these people sleep at night?
Either way, its gonna look awesome (probably) if you paid 30 grand for. I'm going to pick up a 68 coupe for 9000, and its in great condition, its just all original.
Well if you get the time upload a video, i'd like to see it. I'm 15, and i'm buying it from its second owner whose owned it for 20 years and has only driven in 9k miles. It's in awesome condition, but i'm gonna invest some money in it to get it the way I'd like it to be, like rims, dress up the engine, and maybe a 4b carb, and some flowmasters. And hopefully i can keep it in good conditions and sell it for $11000+, IF! Obama doesnt continue with the, "trade you car in for 4500 bucks" bullcrap.
Shit dude don't sell it! Classic Mustangs will always be worth a lot, new ones, they're only worth $25000 once.
But if you do want to sell it, keep it original. Don't modify it. If you're keeping it, then modify it all you want. Just don't do it yourself unless you know what you're doing.
I Feel ya man! I was looking at the 01 models, and its like this,Buy a decent one with 100k miles for $8000, keep it 2-4 years, and sell it for $3000, IF your lucky.
And I dont even own the car yet(i have driven it)and i already have the feeling that i'm gonna get attached to it so i probably wont sell it in the long run. And anything i change, Im gonna keep those original parts. Btw, What kind of rims are you running? I'm looking at 16" torque thrusts, x8 in the front and x10 in the back
my dream car.

I have to agree, not an authentic CS, but still a pretty nice car. Obviously a fake, but not a bad car.

You could've gotten a nice fasback for that man, bad decision In my opinion (just my a opinion. But if you paid 30 grand it must be immaculate

I would've gotten a Fastback, but there were none for sale.

I'll have to take a look I havn't payed much attention to the rims. What kind of engine does yours have?
SaturnVII 2 years ago
All stock 289, hopefully I can bring some more power uner the hood though, how abouy yours?
DontReadThisUsername 2 years ago
It's a stock 289 as well. I'm thinking about putting a Holly 2 barrel carburator in it. Just to give it some umph.
SaturnVII 2 years ago
Niceee, and nice use of the word umph
hahaha.
Yeah, just to stay away from modding my engine too much, i'll prolly just put in a 4 barrel on it.
DontReadThisUsername 2 years ago
Alright that should give it some power. But it might also lower your gas milage. Just saying.

Yeah, in cars it seems every plus has a down you know?
