@godwithin060988 Well, at many gun shows you can buy guns like that, but unless your willing to go to jail, i wouldn't do it. Where are you located, if your in nevada arizona or california you can go to crossroads of the west gun shows, but if your not just look up gun shows in your state on the internet, you will get a few within your general area most likely (i live in one of the most liberal areas of california and i still have two gun shows within a 45 minute drive from me.

My friend has many guns, he loves them, and after seeing them i feel like i need to buy some as well, for the purpose of collecting or even using when going hunting.

I never heard about these shows so could someone please answer some of my questions,

Where are these shows? When is the next one? Do you need a gun permit to be able to buy one or can you just go there and buy one with Cash money?

I'm going in two weeks to this gun show with my dad. My dad is a democrat, lives in California and doesn't think he needs to own a gun. He has been supportive with my hobby, but I want him to buy a firearm. Probably a Mosin (since it's cheap and surplus).

I would just talk to him as you see stuff at the show and if he seems interested go check out a nagant and the ammo, some targets, etc, see if he stays interested.. if not, no reason to force anyone to have fun

@GunWebsites Yeah that's true, but I'm not "forcing" him to buy a gun because I want it...I think he should buy one for home protection. I mean obviously you wouldn't use a Mosin, but it's just a start. He said when he was in his teens he used to go out to the desert and shoot a lot. If not, then next year or during the summer, I'll go to the show with my brother (who will turn 18 in July) and have him buy a Nagant.

Gun shows suck. They try to sell you crappy guns for outrageous prices. I've seen a really beat up m38 Mosin nagant go for $225, when I got one with no scratches and awesome bluing with no sticky bolt for $132.

@UggmunsStudios I hope you do realize there is many types of mosin nagants. Some of wich are more rare making them collectible which makes people pay a little bit more for them even if they are not in the best condition. Did you ask the seller about which make/model the mosin that he sold was?

@UggmunsStudios Ya that's the whole point you go to gun shows is to get better deals on the firearms than a dealer would have in a store front. Obviously you are gonna find people trying to rip you off everywhere though, been that way since forever. I hear also some shows actually restrict how low a seller can sell a certain type of gun for, I think that's just ridiculous.

Federally licensed dealers (FFL holders, meaning gun shops mostly) can't sell handguns to anyone under 21 years of age. However many states allow private sales (meaning just 2 people making a transaction, not part of a business) at a lower age. Most of these states allow private sales at 18 but check your local laws.

@GunWebsites By saying there should be no gun laws you are essentially establishing yourself to be a radical. Most people are not radicals therefore it is better to strive for a middle ground with much less restrictions rather than no restrictions. That way more people will support it.

An example would be the ones who favor complete restriction on guns. There have little support and no progress because they are too radical. Similarly, the no restriction idea scares away support for guns.
