  • How much are the roots being sold for?

  • @TheOakwater It depends on how many roots you would need and whether you need starter roots or roots to grind. Roots to grind would start about $10.00 a LB., free shipping.

  • @remhew Thank you.. As soon as I clear that clay dirt from my yard. I'm on it!

  • Like the way you made this..

  • Very helpful

  • Thumbs up if you're eating horseradish as you're watching this!

  • very nice thanks 4 sharing

  • That would be nice on a beef sandwhich :)

  • thanks for the instructions, just bought a horseradish, and going to make it up just like this!

  • Oh, so dumb am I, now the instant after I posted I see you can sell the roots. I will be calling you! Geez..sign me red in the face.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this! I Love horseradish, and had no idea how to make my own. I've been learning how to garden organically for 3 years and am so sorry I didn't start earlier. Now I need to find a good source for horseradish root.

  • When you grate or grind and add white vinegar, horseradish will keep for 30 or 40 days if you add no fat mayo, 1 tsp. of sugar. it will keep for 60 to 80 days. If you haven't used it by then, you don't love horseradish !

  • How long does it keep after you've prepared it?

  • Wow that's great! I love horseradish, I eat it right out of the jar. Can you water bath can this for longer storage? Thanks for posting this!!

  • @seattwa You should eat it fresh! It will not store other than being refrigerated. The roots will keep for four months in the refrigerator.

  • chunky horseradish, sick!

  • get er done old man!

  • looks like boneradish

  • i peel first then wash, ok

  • When I make my kind I just use horseradish and vinegar, nothing else. Makes it extremely strong. Just how I like it.

  • Opps.. I think I clicked something wrong and wiped out someones comment. Sorry... Damian

  • @remhew sounds like a good idea. Id buy some because its kind of hard to get it here in Florida.

  • great video! Just made some today for Easter! Its so easy to make and fun. It doesn't compare to anything store bought, much much stronger!

  • That is a beautiful root you have there. How many years did it take to grow that one?

My dad taught me how to make horseradish similar to how you do there. I don use the mayo, Just vinegar, sugar, and a bit of salt. For red horseradish, I add some beets. This stuff will knock your socks off!

    Damian.

  • @CatfishMan43 thats how i started out also. then you buy it already made in the store then you start watching utube

  • We've tried to replicate this receipe in italy using the ingrediants shown. We came up with 2 main problems:

    1) the vinegar you use is certainly not white wine vinegar. The alcohol content makes the vinegar taste stand out far too much. To make the end product much moer like the patè we know we had to drain it with a cloth.

    2) This version is extremely powerful! We found it better to mix with an existing product, store-bought, to deaden the punch a little bit.

  • I grew up with horse radish that my grandma would make, similar to this.

any meat, its perfect on, got a cold? one wiff will clear you up
