  • @Vuntry "Not a guru"? His Holiness the Dalai Lama says he is. So, who are you?

  • Check out one of the newest video SPIRITUAL DIALOGUE: Renowned Healer Anne Jones and H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

  • Such a wise religion...

  • LOL! Ohhhh man this is so awesome! Definitely faved and subscribed!

  • meditate and stuff guys omg! its like super awesome and stuff!

  • wow, this is very fresh. Enjoyed it. What is so flamboyant?

  • He looks a lil too flamboyant for my taste. I like his unique approach to teaching dharma, but something just doesn't feel right.

  • You took the words out of my mouth...

  • I just watched his other videos and it's a lot better when he's talking more seriously. And he delivers the message pretty well too, eg. v=u1OY9l9HsXM

At least those videos help save his image and I now really respect him :)

  • @kistajk Maybe you need a new cushion.

  • Meditation is not about emptying our minds and meditation is not about let our mind get distracted with every single thought either. Meditation is a to focus our mind on an object, be it the breath, a Buddha image or a sacred mantra. In doing so, we slowly but surely get in touch with our real nature.

  • There Is a form of meditation that the "focus" is emptiness- therefore all of the void. Paradoxical? yes, but also true.

  • No, emptiness is not void as in the english sense of the word. It is translated from the word Shunyata. It is superficially defined as phenomena not inherently existing on its own. However Nagarjuna and all the other expounders of this view of reality says that it cannot be truly defined in words but their poetry and teachings come close in expressing it.

  • Even if Rinpoche is holy, he wouldn't tell the world that he is holy. His humility would have prevented him from doing that. Its his actions and the growth of his organisation and how he teaches and works for others that makes him holy.

  • There are two types of meditation and the first is analytical meditation and single-pointed meditation. Analytical meditation is meditation we do when we contemplate teachings by our Lama like this one and those we read in books etc. Single pointed is when we do our Sadhanas and place the result and conclusion of analytical meditation so over time it becomes a part of us. It is not just knowledge, it becomes a part of us and we act out of the realisation.

  • Well I like the scenario with the handphone, that frequently happen to me and others in KH. We can't put down our phones and worst thing to do during puja is not setting our phone on silent.

  • yes indeed I found that to be true myself, even when it looks like a big mess you're making progress and if you stick with it from those efforts you will get good meditation later on

  • ysh to me <3

  • God! It is a frozbyte monologue here...Never mind. Aiyoh, I understand Rinpoche. I do that kind of meditation too and so I do Dharma work to supplement my cheapskate recitations.

  • The best meditation is awareness. Have awareness for close ones, what they need and what are they unhappy with us about. Also finding ways to benefit others and consistently doing that. Isn't that great meditation.

  • HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche promotes Protector practice in Malaysia because people are inpatient, they want instant results and they want short term results. Hence protector practice like Setrap is ideal because it can bring those and create merit for us. The results come swiftly and we gain faith in the teachings and the Buddhas. Thus many look deeper and start to practice the Dharma.

  • It always good to balance merit-making meditations like making offerings, prayers and mantra towards a Buddha like Lama Tsongkhapa, which is somewhat single-pointed meditation and couple with analytical meditation which is the listening and study of the Dharma plus incorporating it to our daily motivation. That would be most effective.

  • Rinpoche said the best meditation practice for us at this time would be Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa together with Migtsema.

  • yap7128: Meditation by definition is a mental discipline in which we stay focus single-pointedly on an object in order to get deeper into the mind and familiarize oneself with an object on a deeper level. Meditation is an indispensable tool used to transform the mind and thereby affect our future thoughts and actions. Hope that was a good enough explanation.

  • Really funny and straight to the point of how we really meditate. :-) Thank you.

  • Brilliant :-)

  • Meditation made easy...how insightful to see ourselves in Rinpoche's teaching. I really would like to strive to meditate better now.

  • To me, H E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is the top-of-the-barrel Lama despite what he says....tsemtulku(dot)com rulez!!!

  • The importance of Meditation is your Mind Concentration, if you are thinking others things while you meditate, meaning your mind is somewhere out there, and you are concentrate enough....Thats why Buddhism teach us Mind transformation, mind concentration, Focus in whatever you do, and it does really help at the end of day........

  • Very funny video. And very informative. Must definitely meditate on it.

  • LOL - so funny! :)

  • Oh my god( or Buddha) !! Another funny yet meaningful dharma talk. I really hope i were there to listen all these.

Rinpoche made it very modern for us to contemplate. What Rinpoche had pointed out are so so true. When we do our meditation, we think of nasi lemak, food, phone, sms etc... and it goes on and on.

But at least we try, less better than none. Hope we can focus more in our meditation. hehe....

  • Very funny, LOL, good explanation from Rinpoche. I do agree when we do meditation, there's alot of distraction, thats where we need to train up our mind to be more focus, although is not easy, but if we keep on trying, sure we can do it, Since Buddha can do it, why can WE right??? Think Think Think & Make it Works.........tsemtulku(dot)com

  • Buddhism for the "Sex and the City" generation!

  • lol

  • @thegr8tbigmouth Buddhism for the 21st century. And, unlike the Dharma "Sex and the City" will be cancelled.

  • the reason why we are going nowhere in our spiritual practice is because we havent been putting in our full focus, effort and attention to it. If we did, we would have achieved at least a little bit of result by now. neonlama(dot)com

  • he sounds like a gay yoda

  • when we meditate, we should really meditate by putting our efforts into it, instead of meditating only when we are in front of people and acting as we like behind them. Then the whole purpose of meditation, which is to train the mind to concentrate is gone. tsemtulku(dot)com

  • when we meditate, is it really because we want to train our mind, or just to show other people that we are spiritual? Spiritual hypoocrisy leads to nowhere because we can convince everyone around us that we are spiritual, but we cannot lie to ourselves to what we really are. neonlama(dot)com

  • lol that was funnie. it is hard. sometimes i go to meditation and it's so painful i cry and then I am like why do i get up and run over here every day? why? do i like pain? why didn't i go to the movies. but i always be running to that bell like some kind of robot. lol

  • it's because you're trying to cut off your bad habits and self-cherishing that is making it hurt. Your mind wants to enjoy and be wild and free while you want to control it. Obviously, the mind will resist and will always try to go back to a state where it likes. Real meditation is resisting them and transforming. kecharahouse(dot)com

  • the Buddha is the Buddha only because he worked for it. If you want something, you gotta put in effort and Buddhist practice is no different. That is why he is worthy of respect for all the effort he put in to what he wanted to achieve.

  • i wonder if he can speak in chinese? oh i wish tis venerable guru can teach my mother, my family Dhamma, so they wil stop eating meat n bcome a holy person wit a pure heart, pls tel me wher can i meet tis Guru?

  • Rinpoche is currently residing in malaysia where his center is also at. you can go to kecharahouse(dot)com for more details.

  • Rinpoche is real funny! Made me laugh so hard! At times I'm 'guilty' too! hahaha...

  • this video brings to mind the real reason of meditation, which is to train the mind to not be too easily distracted, which is why if we meditate while thinking about other things, it defeats the entire purpose of meditation completely, either through contemplation, reciting mantras or an object such as the breath.

  • H.E.Tsem Rinpoche took rebirth in Taipei, Taiwan where he was recognized as a Tulku at 7 months old, but his mom refused to let him go. Then taken to N.J.,USA. From Jersey, he left to California where he met his root guru H.H.Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, where Kyabje Zong Rinpoche re-recognized him again. In 1987 he left for Gaden in South,India where He was officially enthroned. In 1992,chosen by Lati Rinpoche to go to Malaysia where he went on and off to teach. He resides in Malaysia full time now.

  • I am laughing so hard. You cheered me right up after a horrible morning. I have been to so many meditation retreats and I still meditate like THAT! I always think about food. LOL

    Scary!

  • if it did...tell your friends about this. maybe it'll cheer them up too :P

  • there are 1.2 billion budists!

    is that true?

  • It is estimated that there are around 300 million buddhists, though such things are very difficult to estimate. Buddhism is experiencing a decline in asia but growing interest in the western world.

  • nah I dont really believe that. Lots of asians are also turning back to their roots as they realize how wonderful Buddhism is and how much they can relate to it. The less exposed ones will not know what they are missing.

  • well probably yes, the difference is that they don't ring your bell like other religions do "Hi there, wanna buy some Jesus?"

If you dig buddism, check them out, they will not check you out.

  • exactly. Most Buddhists are low profile because they are not THAT insecure to get more Buddhist converts to make them feel like they are on the right path. Fake Buddhists will make a big hoo hah and announce to everyone that they are, but real Buddhists always keep quiet.

  • So funny!!! and so whitty! Thanx so much for the chuckle and lifting my heart right now, i'm smiling after watching that.

  • So funny.

  • Hi! I love your dharma teaching :o)

    blessings from Italy

  • this is his 'day job' he's a Rinpoche. its a Dharma teaching at his temple. the laughing is from the people attending the talk.

all of his talks are pretty funny but most of them are long.

Just because its religion/philosophy doesn't mean it has to be stagnant.

  • It's more than that, really. It's a lot nore than philosophy/religion. It's something that you can actually put to use to make your life less painful.

  • Lama Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, You are so fun to watch! Thank your post's

  • sounds like a laughing track, is this a show or a classroom?

  • its a classroom. People remember when they laugh.

  • I cant Hear it when he does the funny voice

  • does it really matter..?

  • Yes,

  • but does it really?

  • Yes,
