How is stating you voice through voting in a democratic country immoral? The LDS church was not the only church who supported the passage of Proposition 8; it was a coalition of different churches, faiths and denominations.
@ikings23 Voting is not immoral. Members of many faiths, including yours, voted on both sides of the issue. But the LDS Church was the ONLY one to push this measure AS A CHURCH. Members were encouraged to donate by the First Presidency in a broadcast made and viewed on Church property, using Church resources. A Church campaign website was bought. Ads were bought. All with tax-exempt Church funds. The LDS was the only church to have to file a "Major Donor Statement" with our election commission.
@ikings23 Until Nov. 4, 2008, my California church and over 200 other churches and synagogues welcomed marriage for same-sex couples in our own congregations. The Proposition organized by Mormon leaders--for which Mormons paid more of the campaign cost than ALL other donors combined--forced us to abandon our sacraments and obey LDS marriage dogma.
I believe in allowing "all men" to worship how, where, or what they may. And I believe it is immoral to ban others from doing so, as you have done.
@ikings23 Protests are symbolic, as are temples. There is no one inside the Washington Monument or the Lincoln Memorial, either, but plenty of protests happen there-- some of them actually amount to something.
After these particular protests, many more Americans became aware of the LDS Church's immoral meddling in politics on the Prop 8 issue-- an activity that was carried out to this extent by NO other church. I doubt the Mormons could convince as many voters in future that they tell the truth.
You should be delighted by this video thetrinabell... this is a beautiful expression of unity and love. The gay and straight people protesting in this video don't hate mormons, in fact many of them have been traditionally supportive of the rights of LDS to be as they wish. Yes, all should be able to practice their religion, except when it infringes on and blocks the rights of others. The LDS have gone too far the moment they tried to force their beliefs on others. Practice what you preach.
This video really depresses me. Im LDS and I know mormons dont "hate" gays. Were all brothers and sisters spiritually. That just sickens me seeing people holding signs at a supposed peace rally saying hatefull things about the LDS. It's a religion. Everyone has the God given right to worship and believe what they want , gay or mormon,. People just need to love and except everyone no matter what the situation. I have a deep love for mormons and gays. Thats all i have to say.
"the Mormon church, they were the actual sponsors of the proposition"
that isn't true. The Mormons didn't get into the Proposition until very late. But they are very family orientated and every one knows that. Plus we pray a lot too!

Funny the mormons would discrimnate against anyone since they were discriminated earlier due to their own marriage beliefs.
