  • The Genesis version of this song is by far the best.

  • The perfect song for free-falling. Can't wait to make a Team Fortress 2 remix of this.

  • For me, this song proves that the HD remake is actually amazingly better than the original. If you find that apalling, maybe you noticed the extreme faithfulness to the original sides voiceclips, the new art style looks amazing, and look me in the eye and tell me Old Grand Ma does not fit in with every other EWJ villian. LOOK ME IN THE EYE DAMMIT THIS GAME MAKES NO SENSE

  • The new art style just looks ugly. The old was wacky and everything yeah, but it was appealing. It had an old Warner Brotherish atmosphere to it. This is more like...uh...

  • @edward18517 The same damn art style, just in HD? I see what you mean, I personally prefer this design.

  • ....look at the title screen and look at the boxart for the old game. The difference is obvious.

  • @edward18517 Yes, in the Genesis versions the characters look more like low quality inked sketches transformed into animation.

In this game it looks like they took those sketches and made miracles out of em.

  • I'm talking about the actual art for the game. The posters, the ads. For HD that stuff just looks flat-out horrendous compared to the original. For the sprites they're obviously graphically better than the original but even then it's hard for me to like HD's sprites better since it has such a horrendous framerate most of the time.

  • @edward18517 Depends, depends. And to be honest, the game runs fine for me. And "horrendous" is being overused here. Lag is not horrendous. Horrendous would be freezing. And I'm glad its been recreated well. Nothing will be as good as you remember it or as bad as you remember it. It's part of growing up. And frankly I never gave quite a flipping damn about art design anyhow. My first system was an N64, Donkey Kong looked like a kong, so he was a kong. Plain and simple.

  • It's not a matter of running fine, it's a matter of frames missing. That isn't lag. There just simply isn't as many pictures in most of the animations in HD that are present in the original giving a much more jittery effect to most of the characters in HD. I still have Special Edition and the Genesis version. Played it recently. It moves much better than HD ever has.

  • @edward18517 You have to remember though that pretty much anyone who grew up playing these games on a Nintendo system wont really notice a difference as there really doesn't appear to be one, leading me to believe that the SNES version may have been what the HD version was based off of (that's definitely the case with the music). The lack of MORE than a few frames of animation does suck, but im mostly upset by the lack of ALL the Sega CD content and the lack of "Who Turned Out The Lights?".

  • Well, they had the second part of New Junk City in, but other than that nothing from Special Edition.

  • a real ewj fan would get the hd version if tommy tallarico had come back to compose the tracks. and yet he didn't. so it won't feel the same

  • Probably the best song of the bunch from that awful Earthworm Jim HD game.

I understand that they probably didn´t get the same voice actor as before for Jim, but A: Homer´s voiceactor is still alive, he voiced Jim in the cartoon series and B: They could´ve just digitally enhanced the old wavefiles of his voice... anything but this failed standup comedian voice they have given him.

  • Homer didn't voice the games' Jim, Doug Tenapel did.

  • This version is cool, but the MS-DOS/MegaCD version is better.

  • Not to sound like an elitist, but this game is nowhere near as good as the original.

Besides the feature where you could switch between your guns, that was a welcome tweak.

  • So catchy, so good.

  • I just heard this version here, it's great like the rest,. im glad they remade all the music..

  • This song sounds good no matter what system.

    even GBA was decent.

  • Loved this game on my genesis and I love it in HD. This is my favorite track from any version of this game.

  • thumbs up if you beat this game before

  • Awesome version!

  • That's odd this doesn't sound anything like the version that plays in the Earthworm Jim HD i have. I recall it using the CD version.

  • At around 0:07 there's a gap in the song or something.

  • Those...damn...SPIKES.

Also, can't wait for Earthworm Jim 2 HD

  • very cool

  • What happened to the awesome guitar solo!?

  • @KeybladeMaster87

These arent based on the Sega CD/PC versions, their based on the Genesis (and mostly SNES) original versions

  • @Renegade466isback Which is complete bullshit! Why they do this!?

  • @KeybladeMaster87 yea bro decimated wrecked the track.

  • @KeybladeMaster87 Funny you say that. I think the PC/Saturn/PS reditions of the tunes were much better than the HD versions

  • Whaaa-?! Piece of music from Earthworm Jim HD that actually sounds... DECENT?! I can't believe that this is happening. Yeah, this is crappier than Sega CD and Sega Genesis versions, but it sounds not bad.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar Those Were Acturally Beter Than The PC And SNES Soundtrack And The Genesis Version Had A Extra Level

  • @gerryf964 Depends on which PC version you're talking about. But yeah, if you want to play some Earthworm Jim, find versions for Sega consoles.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar Exactly And I Am A HUGE Sega Fan

  • @gerryf964 So am I, bro, so am I.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar Why Are You A Sega Fan I Am One Because My Favorite Character Is Sonic

  • @gerryf964 I had Sega MegaDrive when I was a kid.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar I Had And Still Have My Sega Genesis/MegaDrive Hey Do You Think Sonic Is Awesum

  • @gerryf964 First three (if count S3 and S&K as one game) are awesome.

  • I love the remake :D

  • I think they should have used the original Sega CD/PC version, but this is good.

  • Genesis still have those drums but this sounds more like a genesis + SNES version mashed together so this still sounds awesome!

  • I approve. Still lacks the "edge" the genesis had though :P

  • @rushnerd True that. The Genesis may have FAR inferior sound hardware but a hardcore Nintendo can admit that nothing drops a sick beat like the Genesis. SNES music took me to fantastic worlds, the Genesis cranked that shit up. And cranked it fierce.

  • @Patcheresu

Different flavors man. SNES and GNES both had different strengths and weaknesses, if you really think one is inferior you are a failure as a gamer and at using perception.

  • @rushnerd "inferior sound hardware" That means the SNES's sound making tools were better than the Genesis. Like the PS3's sound making tools and abilities are better than the Genesis.

Doesn't change the SONG quality just limits how well you can do it. And despite those limits, the base pumped out by the Genesis versions is melodious to my ears. And it takes skill to turn a taser slamming against an electric guitar with derps in the background (Sonic Spinball Options) to make me love it.

  • Actually a pretty good remix of the original. Less like the Sega CD version and more like the original one but that works. Definitely takes me back to when I got to Buttville the first time...and I died...alot.
