Did Homeserve put this video on here to get themselves some work?
"If you mess it up after watching this video, you can always call us!"
As long as they don't send the bird in the video round, you'll be fine. She's filmed doing just about everything wrong (Not her fault though. She's not even a plumber's wife).
OMG, so many mistakes, is it April 1st? also those brutal grips to hold the valve, chewing all the nice chrome! Why doesnt he/she use a Radwrench, the proper purpose made tool for the job, if you want to know more have a look at ABDtools.eu
It is quite unbelievable that someone has done this video and no one on the production team knows anything about tools, central heating, boilers or plumbing.
Well if your team carry out jobs like that then I should be able to double up my own workforce at your expense. PTFE Twleve times, what about opening the air bleeds before you disconnect the rad valve before you flood the downstairs..................
and as the lads said below....inhibitor? There is a British Standard relating to central heating water quality you know!!!
Yes there are a few missing bits. It doesn't actually say to turn off the boiler before draining the system for a start!
I also don't know why they say a cylinder-based CH system requires anything special for draining - I've done it before.
I'd also recommend adding corrosion inhibitor (Sentinel/Fernox/etc.) if you've drained the system. The best way to do that is to put it into the system after you drain it but before you re-attach the rad.
There are a few things wrong with this video, the tools being used, are all wrong, and the way the thread tape is being applied to the new tail is being applied in the WRONG DIRECTION! it has to be wound on in a clockwise manner or it will come off as you screw it in! look at "Diy decorating how to remove a radiator" to see a much better way of doing this.
useless

Removing the nipple on the radiator side with adjustable pliers? Spare me.
For credibility's sake please get an internal pipe wrench. This makes this video amateurish at best.

This is rubbish.
For God's sake, you don't need to drain down the whole system to change a bloody valve!
