How do you get so lucky at King Hippo? Even with the 9 body blows, I can't get him in under 1:30 because he does about 5 friggin punches in a row without opening his fucking mouth.

My bad with the first comment - just looking from the comments, I thought this was the Punch Out hack again.

Hippo sucks - period. I did mention I thought he was the most frustrating character in the game for a reason...WAY more than Don 2. You need to password to Don, beat Don, then hope to get lucky on Hippo. You obviously have the strat down, it's just a matter of time. It can take a few hours before you get lucky enough to have 3 in a row, and then you need to be good enough to land all 30.

This is not real. You're either on an emulator or have a game genie. There is no way that one "super punch" knocks out soda pop. There's nothing wrong with a game genie or an emulator but don't try to pass it off as legit.

What's "not real" is the amount of people making comments like this before they even attempt the techniques. Have you tried "that one super punch on soda pop?" Or are you just assuming it doesn't work because you've never seen it before. Crouch against his two uppercuts and he freezes for a couple of seconds. Throw body blows and you'll get stars. After the second uppercut, use one and he falls.

Just a thought. With the Bald Bull, you can earn stars by upper punching him when he's in the middle of his cross body uppercut (on the same side he's punching from, I think). That may help speed up your win against him.

Note that this doesn't work for his ducking uppercut.

I actually do this twice in the video against the hooks. At the end of phase 2, I intercept the right hook with a left jab to knock him down, and at the end of phase 3, I do it one more time for the final star I need to knock him down against his uppercut.

This particular Bull fight took me a really long time with a lot of curve balls thrown my way. He mixes up his patterns quite a bit, and you have to fight a lot of people to get to him. Not optimal (:58 I think is), but it's pretty close.

Sorry for the repeat post, I was trying to reply. It seriously takes hundreds of tries. I mentioned in my Don/Hippo tutorial that, in my opinion, he is the most frustrating character in the game because not only does it take 10,000 times fighting him before he finally lets off 3 in a row, you also need to beat Don before every time you try it. But this method also gets you really good at Don in the process.

yeah There is no codes to go strait to king hippo unless your on a emulator and make save states but I suppose that why ive never seen it before is becuase he does it once in a great while so thx for the tip on that one.

actually there is a code which lets you play a completely re aranged world circuit and hippo is the 1st fighter.

its 135 792 4680 but ya have to press A+B+SELECT to enter it

Hi! After the first knockdown with Bald Bull in phase 1, how did you get 2 fast stars of him? Is there a trick or something with it? You can explain me, I know the game very well! Thkx for those videos! They are awesome!!! ;)

First, if you get him down before 19, he'll come up with one more rolling jab. That star is about 50%. Then you just wait for him to lower his guard after you hit him the first time and throw another jab. He does have a tendency to block this one, but it's reliable enough. I don't go over this one in my instructional videos because I try to stick as close to 100% as possible.

And, if you can find some vids of mine against him, I think I got a good strategy you didn't seem to use to hit him a little faster. However, may be you didn't use this tactic because those uppercuts would do less damage... I don't know about it yet... ;)

He goes in 17, but I was trying to:

1) Guarantee 1-2 stars after the knockdown (not 0-1)

2) Avoid the rolling jab at the start of phase two.

For my tutorials, I like to explain a fast time as simple as possible, and that jab would have complicated matters a bit.

As for the uppercuts, you want to dodge his hook before throwing it. Punching right into it takes off very little.

Thank you very much man! Yes, I guess this game is really easy for both of us! I got a lot of strategies and knowledge about the game by myself. I got myself the delayed punch strategy for opponents like Bald Bull, Soda Poponski and Super Macho Man, but I discovered the other kind of delayed punch for Don Flamenco, Mr.Sandman and Mike tyson on the internet I guess! That was just a matter of knowing how it works, because that's not that hard to execute. You did an excellent job! ;)

this has to be fake. The first bald bull always pulls his head to the side when you try to use a start without stunning him first.

If you notice, at least in phase 1, he's rolling his fists every time I throw an uppercut; thus, he's in the middle of a move. And even characters that dodge don't when they're in the midst of a punch.

And if you check some of my earlier tutorials, you'll find you don't necessarily need to stun your opponent before throwing an uppercut in response to a punch - and sometimes, just dodging and uppercutting can yield more damage than with a stun first.

I don't get Honda's strategy, I've tried the same combo about 100 times but no luck. I've also tried a bunch of other stuff but I can't get the first knock down that quick, He always has like a sliver of life after the combos.

Well, let's start with which time you encounter him. Regardless, Honda's tough both times you encounter him because he throws some random patterns. Make sure that:

1) You are quick dodging when you dodge.

2) You respond with proper punches.

3) If you need to uppercut him during his jabs, hesitate a bit before you do to land the uppercut right when he starts moving his eyebrows.
