  • I love Keith David's voice. But his mispronunciation of Pompey's name grates on the nerves.

  • They Multilated the story of Job. THat is one of my favorite stories, really sad.

  • @Ryukikon

went from Greeks to Romans and Back to Greeks in a heart beat, lol.

  • I watched 1:39 seconds of this and I already encounter gross errors. I will continue to watch but wow, I mean I seriously dislike these clear and deliberate distortions that if you reflect on it is clearly logically false.

  • Early Rasizm and Arianizam ...

  • Dude, Jeremy Irons's voice in this. Scar's helping narrate.

  • science is truth: finatics and asetics alike all prey for me

  • This is a complete lie that the "greeks" had shown us the ideal of money. There have been coins of gold, silver, copper found dating back 2900 years in Dovid Hamelech, time. Even Abraham 4000 years ago paid for the tomb of Sarah an outrageous 400 shekels of silver to Ephron the Hittite! (Berishit 23: 17-20) In all history's records, there isn't one single parchment recording money before Abraham. I'm offended at your poor research! Claiming where some lowly people truly we are the loftiest.

  • The coin system is a step backward from the barter system.

It encourages the unnecessary gathering of wealth beyond ones practical need.

It destroys the personal interaction which upholds honesty, charity and self sacrifice for the group above greed and individual accumulation.

It separates the unified consciousness of the tribe into "every man for himself" because we no longer rely on a complex system of interdependence to acquire the items and services needed to survive.

  • @menacingshadows

the coin is a step up from the barter system. Paper money and credit is a step back from the barter system. Everything thing else you say is valid with the idea of paper money/credit.

  • 613 mitzvot (commandments)

  • God spoke to Moses and the hebrews what he wanted from them. God spoke to Abraham and gave him the road map to life. God dwelt among his children inside the tabernacle. Long before the 6th century B.C. the hebrews knew God and they knew what he expected of them. God wrote on the tablets what he expected from them...the 10 Commandments..... thou shalt not lie, thou shalt have no other gods, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not covet, thou shall not commit adultery, and so forth.

  • @Conservmom believe what you will, but if actually read the old testament you'll read that God gave Moses over 600 commandements not just 10.

  • @eljunia And we couldn't even follow those Ten...unimpressive, to say the least.

  • Keep uploading interesting videos.... Thanks!!!

  • this narrator sounds like the one who narrates in the crescent and the cross(crusades).....lol

  • @JEREX101 its lawarnce fishburne "morpheus" "silver surfer"

  • @XypherXIII u meen the tuskegee aimen actor who played Hannibal "Iowa "Lee

  • very good documentary on the people i love .........thank you

  • jajaja, i type in samurai and the japanese actor pops up :D

  • Any version of a religious text is simply a verbal Rorschach test--people can get anything they want from it and there's no right answer. If a god who supposedly created the universe in a day (and tinkered with it for 5 more) can't come up with a better way to communicate, then that alone is proof if his non-existence. Vague ghost writers coming up with hallucinatory-based third-person accounts of what their god supposedly wants to say is laughable as proof of anything. Nice documentary, though.

  • You people are funny. There's no god.

    Peace.

  • @onnelako And you'll never get laid. Have fun, troll.

  • @Walnut1871@Walnut1871

dude, i've lived in palestine and israel, my x-girlfriends video here /watch?v=rt8zKClLmbA

    going back in 4 months.

    so dude, peace...

  • This video didnt tell the whole story of Job in the begining it explains that Satan asked god to let him do this to Job because he has never cursed Gods name. in the end God rewards the good and gives everything back to Job in twice fulled.

  • Interesting how this documentary only presents the view of these reformed/re constructionist rabbis as fact.

They make it seem that the view that the Torah are the words of G-d is a relatively new concept.

The fact is that prior to app. 200 years ago the views of these Rabbis didn't exist, and all of Judiasm beilieve the Torah is the words of G-d.

Interesting how they claim to know more about what happened 2000 years ago then the people that actually lived at that time

  • @joe1026 Funny though how you claim to know better than these rabbis who do nothing daily than to read and memorise the Torah! If I were you, I should SHUT UP unless you have evidence to adduce that you possess something much much better than what these rabbis got. Get it??? Are you schooled in theology? Are you a born again Christian? If NOT, then you are far from having any qualification to argue with these rabbis and those schooled in the Christian theology.

  • @MrToli62 Since you asked. Yes I am schooled in theology. I spent over 20 years in study of the Torah 10 hours a day, and continue to do so now in my free time. I am also fluent in Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic.

These Rabbis are not highly respected in the Theological Community, but their views represent the desired point of view of those producing this documentary.

You seem to have mixed up your meds today. Rabbis and Christian Theologists, obviously have different views of history

  • @joe1026

i was having a hard time with their interpretation of Job since it fails to mention that Job had a dialogue with God, God put Job in the right perspective, and was later restored. I'm concerned that this doc is a bunch of sensationalism.

This doc also acts as though the Greeks were the first foreigners who influenced Israel to act out of line w/ Hebrew tradition. But this isn't true. Idols and false gods were rampant in the torah throughout.

Any thoughts on their spin on the afterlife?

  • @nickwho622

I have not even finished this documentary(7:35 min) and have found many errors. This really seems to be a distorted documentary like the idea that Egypt is in the Orient. I will finish it because I am hoping I am wrong and it will turn around.

  • Fun trivia for the day: Akhenaten (father of Tutankhamun or Tut, an unimportant figure only famous because his tomb was found unlooted in modern times) briefly converted Egypt to a monotheistic faith (the first documented) and its prayer to the Sun God maps almost exactly to the later Christian Lord's Prayer. Make of that what you will--I'm going with all religions co-opt earlier stuff and make it fit their own and nothing more.

  • we have the messiah moon.

  • So much more than we are taught in Church. God is the only one we need.

  • Hangs up on my computer at 7:40.

  • The Jews didn't fight for their god. It was the other way around.

  • The big bang created the universe h2o+4 billion years+natural selection made man, man made religion seems like everything was going great until that last part.

  • @jerezxp7 PROVE IT!!! DON'T JUST SAY IT.....SEND ME ALL YOUR SO-CALLED PROOFS OF THE SATANIC DOCTRINE CALLED EVOLUTION AND I SEND YOU ALL THE REBUTTALS OF ITS FALLACIES...MYTHS AND MYSTICS.

  • Islam is PURE EVIL (part1/20)

1.Bible prophesy. Ishamel, etc. illigitimate son of Abraham.

Genesis 16:12 'He (muslims) will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him & he will live in hostility towards all his brother'

    2. Genesis 22:12 I know that you fear God, since you (Abraham) was to kill your ONLY son (Issac)

    3. Proverbs 25:2 God wants man to question the bible & find god

Satanic Quran forbids questioning. man follow like cattle.

  • @enlightenment2u HOW CAN U EVER QUESTION THE WORDS OF GOD?plz answer my question.and what's the proof that bible is really the words of god?

  • @THETOPDIRECTOR WHAT???!!! WHERE DO YOU PUT YOUR NUTS? OTAK UDANG KE KAU INI?? A moment there you were asking how can one question the Word of God; the next moment you asked for a proof that the Bible is really the Word of God!! Are you an unregenerate infidel? I bet you are unless of course you made a slip of the mind or rather a slip of the fingers....

  • @enlightenment2u : Amen! Yeshua is returning very soon. May His name be praised forever and ever. Maranatha!

  • Documentaries like this run such a risk of offending so many people that in the end they are unsatisfying. Too much tip-toeing.

  • @Kinemacolour yea they do offend people because Job wasn't a white he was black read Job30:30 kjv

  • @manwitthenaturaltan : Sorry Dude but Job's skin was turning black due to his affliction (disease) not because he was a "black" man. If he had been a black man it would not matter but that is just not the case. God bless.

  • the more and more i see of these pbs videos, what they are showing is religion is just a way to control the peoples. (if they are telling everything correctly). Not once did they say God spoke to anyone to write the Torah. Now there are great ethics to teach in it! I wont dispute that at all. I just dont get where people from all cultures got their "religions" from. I have seen that prophets writings from a lot of religions resemble eachother though, even those of indigenous peoples.

  • @wheelori814 That's obvious, but of course we are blinded because we have no "faith." Logic does not enter into the equation of belief in a deity, proof and evidence is not necessary, jus an acrachaic tradition born out fear.

  • @jessicalba7 i saw a video after this one and another one about romans. the video is called "the story of your enslavement"

  • Their are many mistakes in this documentary. Judaism isn't just a "religion" that was man-made. G-D gave the Torah to the entire nation on Mt. Sinai. The Torah contains many proofs and information that only G-D could have known and given over. Search "Rabbi Mizrachi- Torah and Science"

  • @extazy17 Judaism is most certainly man made. Judaism never condemned slavery, rape, or racism. Judaism turned women into subservients and homosexuals criminals. Judaism made acrime out of picking up sticks on the wrong day... It told people what they could or could not wear... Judaism is not good. I could go on if you'd like... Please respond, I'd like to explain more... Peace.

  • @buckfushes I think your talking about islam.

  • Can't say I agree with all that's stated here, but thanks for posting.

  • strange at the end, says jonathan made a political deal with one of the 2 rivals to the throne, and jews got independence. Though I read that jonathan made a deal with the wrong guy , and he killed jonathan. Shimon his brother made the deal with the other rival to the thrown, and this worked out and got the jews independence. or semi-independence within the greek empire.

  • lol nice roman helmets kinda made my opinion of this go down.

  • religious fanatics = Bunch of dullards who think to be in posession of the only truth

    ignorant atheists = same bunch

  • atheism is based on the scientific method... it's not the same as religious fanatics who create explanation... it's saying why invent an explanation for life that simply isn't there.

  • Was i crticising atheism in general or a specific group of people? See, i don't give much on religious organisations too. When somebody shows up telling me he has the final truth or the only true interpretation of a book which is a huge collection of metaphors im suffering from allegric reactions, as is do when somebody tells me the key to the universe is the pocket calculator. One is to much inspired the other to less.

  • @espark1089 aetheism and evolution are religions as much as are other religions. i've seen aetheists and evolutionists become more impassioned over their belief systems than fundamentalists. it's fundamentalists and the historical hypocrisy of the Crusades and Inquisitions that give Christianity a bad rap. Jesus and the early followers were nothing like most religions today. Totally different message and lifestyle. Christianity took its downfall with Rome.

  • @JaneeAddy No, they are not. To be passionate about something does not equal abandoning reason, which is what ALL religions at some point must do to be called a religion. It might appear as a sutle distinction, but it is in fact a vital one. However, strong atheism, i.e. the conviction that there is no god, is as irrational as the belief that there is one. It's still technically not a belief system, since it is a lack of one - but I guess that's more semantics than anything else.

  • As my astronomy professor used to say: "It takes more faith to believe in evolution, than it does in creation." To think it 's about how much passion is manifested is irrelevant. I've seen pentecostals with passion and I think they're out of their minds literally. Money can be a god for some-- anything really. There are tenets in both evolution and aetheism that make them no different than any other belief system, like communism or democracy. Humans are just "created" that way.

  • @JaneeAddy So sorry, but that astronomy professor wasn't worth his salt. Also, you won't find any biology professor saying that, maybe because they actually know what they are talking about. It doesn't take ANY faith to "believe" in evolution, since it's not a matter of belief. It's a matter of observable facts. Sure, it isn't theoretical physics where you actually can do experiments, but it deals with the natural world. Which you can observe. You can't observe "god".

  • @quathar you can observe god which you observe life which is god made through the holy bible becomes your flesh, first of all evolution is not fact its a theory and ironicly a religion that dose require faith. just like post modern atheism is a religion

    and creationism is also science. see how i used both are science. thoguh evultion dose have more holes in its 5 out of 6 theorys that only one is actually true and dose have great grounds but is also normall thing in life {micro}

  • @MegaVenom777 Wow, so many fails in this post.

I was going to reply, but your grasp of the english language and your ability to construct a logical argument seems so poor, so I don't see a point. Here is a tip though: look up what "theory" means in a scientific context. And what atheism actually means.

  • @quathar a crazy buily nutcase Religous person

A ignorant atheist {you} the same bunch

and the word theory in scientific context dose mean that there is SOME facts behind it but could also have lots of holes, and way to go and attack me calling me an idiot! just shows your true colours.

    and their are parts in science that absolute agree that there is a god and there are parts were the absolute disagree {biology manliy because the drive evultion theory'S to the upmost}

  • @MegaVenom777 How can an atheist be the same as a believer, since atheist LITERALLY means non-believer. Yes, a scientific theory is based on facts, but. t theory can NOT have holes in it, it must be non-contradictory for it to be a theory. It can be wrong, but that's something else. No one in science says there is a god, in the sense of it being scientifically proven. There are some, very few, scientists that have some sort of faith, but that is something completely different.

  • Comment removed

  • @MegaVenom777 I see you understood your folly and retracted your comment. Good.

  • @JaneeAddy How can atheism be a religion? Atheism is simply a stance based upon disbelief and acquired knowledge (belief is just a sub-set of knowledge, but not the same). Just because its advocates/proponents sometimes become impassioned doesn't make it a form of spirituality. Soccer hooligans become impassioned, but hardly religious however much they are devoted.

  • @espark1089 so you are making it out of religion for saying it is better than everyones else point of view of life which most religions do. and can you tell me this scientific method atheist used, if it is non-relgion then its people who have no idea to believe in , and what your saying is that their is an idea or reason for life that simply isnt there, or are you going to say you'll become a tree or energy life, but i thought thats budaism?

  • @MegaVenom777 hey you can call it a religion if you want... there you christians go... still creating explanations that aren't there.. you don't have enough evidence to go off to prove or tell me what i mean or why i'm wrong.. i layed out a very simple sentence and you make inferences based on emotional and cultural biases in a way that fits into your limited mental capacity

  • @espark1089 go do the research atheism now is a religion its acting like a religion forceing its own opinions on others like christopher hichens and richard dawkins.

alot of people well agree with me it is a religion.

  • @MegaVenom777 lol thats just an organization... it doesn't represent most atheists... some atheists have always been religious fanatics... why would that actually mean anything... words organizations, social variables... all they do is limit spirituality... you're speaking on a very small level

  • @MegaVenom777 Yea!! Evolution has become a religion and Darwin is the god of Evolution; its prophets are the likes of Richard Dawkins, David Attenborough, and all the so-called scientists who are proponents of this false satanic religious cult named "EVOLUTION". When people put something else BEFORE the true Elohim named YAHWEH, they worship a different god!! Whether they are aware of it or not doesn't alter the fact that they worship another god! Period.

  • @MrToli62 if i call Yaweh, Jesus I am still worshiping him he is still in attendence in the church body and his holy spirit still moves us, and his word still touch's hearts even if its in a diffrant laungage, Language is not a problem for god that you my like to think.

  • Bible/other texts = made up stories.

    Now that's not a lie.

  • FeArNiNjA/internet = unintelligible statements

    Now that's the truth.

  • @conkt

    Lol............

    You're another religious nutcase eh?

    No surprise there.

  • No, actually, I'm an atheist. I was merely making fun of your inability to convey your thoughts, and I did this through juvenalian satire. Not that you'd understand that.

  • Jeremiah 35:5 "And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, "Drink ye wine."

God knew beforehand what would happen, and that these Kenites would not tough the wine.

  • hi yes

  • you must be a preacher ;)

  • Jeremiah 35:6 "But they said, "We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, `Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:"

  • We see that the Kenites are obedient to their father. This is why God had these Kenites into His temple, even though they are the negative part of our Fathers Plan. Remember that God even put a seal on Cain, saying don't anybody kill him.

  • FAKE AND GAY

  • This is recorded in Genesis 4:15 "And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold." and the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him."

  • God had a purpose for the Kenites from the very beginning, and we see that they are becoming part of that purpose here in Jeremiah.

  • Jeremiah 35:7 "Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land were ye be strangers.' "

  • God is telling the Kenites that they would never take root anywhere, but they will live as strangers among others. They are the hidden ones, even today as their identity is covered over under the name of Judah. They call them Jews. Their own ways have made them unpopular amongst strangers, so they keep to themselves.

  • God's curse against Cain is given in Genesis 4:12; "When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth."

  • This has nothing to do with our brother Judah, but only with the Kenites. To this day you still will not find a farmer of that tribe. They may own land, but others will work the soil. God brings this point out in this thirty fifth chapter whereby we have absolute proof that the Kenite survived the flood.

  • We know as we follow the genealogy is completely different from Adam's Genealogy, given in Genesis 5. We see in Adam's genealogy that Cain is missing. Cain is missing because Cain was not Adam's son.

  • Cain was the offspring from the sexual union between Satan, in the role of deceiver [the serpent], having wholly seduced Eve in the garden of Eden. From that sexual union came Cain. This is important in the understanding of prophecies as they come to pass.

  • Indeed, i agree.

  • God is also going to make a covenant with the Kenites, whereby He allows them to leave this place, and it is important for us to know that covenant to be able to identify and understand then when they come in our midst.

  • That is why Revelation 2:9, and 3:9 are important, those churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia. They knew who those were that claimed to be of our brother Judah, but were not. They were of the house of Rechab, not the house of Judah, and today most pastors simply don't know the difference

  • Jeremiah 35:8 "Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;"

"Jonadab the son of Rechab" is the father of the Kenites, an offspring of Cain.

  • Jeremiah 35:9 "Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:"

  • God knew that the Wine would come to symbolize the blood of Jesus Christ, and he wanted them to have nothing to do with salvation and the partaking of the blood of Christ in communion. They are the ones that God set aside and told all others to leave them alone. When Cain came to God, and told God that everyone wants to kill me. God response to Cain was to "just keep moving on boy".

  • Jeremiah 35:10 "But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us."

  • Jeremiah 35:11 "But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians:' so we dwell at Jerusalem."

  • Friend, this is where the key to understanding comes in. In the Greek, you call someone that dwells in Judah, "Ioudaios", #2453 in the Strong's Greek dictionary. "A person living in the land of Judaea." It doesn't matter what family they belong to, only their point of residence. Today in Israel there are citizens of other Arab tribes, as well as Palestinians that call themselves citizens of Israel. They are Israelites, even they are Moslem, Arabic or what ever

  • When the Kenites ran to Jerusalem for safety from the Babylonians, they became Ioudaios, or Jews, and when Nebuchadnezzar took the city captive, they also were taken right along with the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, as well as part of the tribe of Levite.

  • . In time after the Kenites came, they were accepted as being of Judah. This idea is very common in America today, for Mexicans that flow over the border after a time consider themselves Americas, just as the descendants of all the other nations that flowed into our nation do

  • This thing that happen in Jerusalem when the Kenites came, has been a terrible thorn in the side of our brother Judah. It is for this reason that Jesus would say; "... I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan." Revelation 2:9

  • The Kenites are the tares of the parable of the tares in Matthew 13:24:32, and Christ told His disciples to leave them alone. The time of Judgment for them is by the angels of God at the time of the harvest, which is at the end of this earth age. However, it is important for us to have the knowledge about them in our generation

  • 1Cor.5

[7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us

    christ our PASSOVER..........

    CHRIST IS OUR PASSOVER

    WE CELIBRATE PASSOVER

    P A S S O V E R......

    PEACE

  • no the most influential prophecy is not one that speaks about the time of turmoil. It was Daniel 9:24-27, the prophecy of the Messiah. From the rebuilding of Jerusalem by the command of Artaxerxes to the Jesus the Messiah would be 69 weeks or 1 week for a day = 483 years. Jesus arrived on the scene in 27AD exactly as expected.

  • NO ONE CAN SEE GOD AND LIVE!!

    pls read ur bibel

  • Amein my dear brother.

  • Very interesting.

  • yeah, Americans rock !!!!!!

  • AWESOME!
