@WuJuKid39 I actually have read that article, by the way. One of the things it fails to take into account is the timing of the penalties and the borderline calls. I've seen Pittsburgh have power plays so often near the end of a game when they are either trailing by 1 or the score is tied. A good example is the goalie interference call the Flyers got during their last game against Pittsburgh with 2 and half minuets left in the game when they were up 3-2.

While that is true, you'll notice that it happens in a lot of games, including games against the Penguins. They look for penalties to call against the winning team later in games in order to maintain ratings.

The second hit looked clean to me, but the first definitely wasn't.
Cherry's babbling about Europeans didn't make any sense: the game is in North America with North American referees.
I don't know what people are smoking when they say that Ovechkin doesn't get away with cheap shots. He's been (lightly and barely) punished because his are far more frequent.
Then guys who play four minutes per game get called for perfectly clean checks.

@WuJuKid39 I actually have read that article, by the way. One of the things it fails to take into account is the timing of the penalties and the borderline calls. I've seen Pittsburgh have power plays so often near the end of a game when they are either trailing by 1 or the score is tied. A good example is the goalie interference call the Flyers got during their last game against Pittsburgh with 2 and half minuets left in the game when they were up 3-2.
