  • the ending is quite a bit idk what to say but i want the better ending i guess so sad ending

  • It's such a shame the original voice actor of Takemoto got sick and couldn't do this last episode ;_;

  • @ZackCosplayer I agree! At first, I was like how are they going to introduce a new voice on the very last episode. Of course it turned out that he got into a car crash of sorts. Sad.

  • 1 person gave up looking for a four leaf clover

  • i haven't seen this anime for ages but it still breaks my heart looking at this scene! T.T

  • can u eat clovers? D8

  • @jamPrinny11 if you wash them they are completley ok to eat.

  • @jamPrinny11 I love sucking the nectar out of clover flowers. :3

  • Ahhh...This is one of the most beautiful anime endings ever! I usually never cry while watching animes/films, but this moment really made me tear up the first time I saw it. I totally identify with Takemoto - from his artistic struggles to his one-sided love...he's like me in male form. ;___; I wish I could give him a hug.

  • @MissWorldSovereign

    BTW this was posted on my birthday... ;___;

  • What is the meaning of failed love?

  • is this the second season ending?

TOTALLY DIFFERENT ENDING FROM THE FIRST SEASON

    WTFFF

but this ending did teach me sumthings

  • after all what Takemoto do for Hagu....in the end, she still not fall in love with him....

i feel really bad for Takemoto....i like the anime, but i hate the ending since i'm a happy ending type fan :D

  • so sad for real... T___T

i feel so bad for takemoto

  • what`s this anime about??

  • its mostly a shojo about art and love and trying to find your right path in life o-o thats what i gathered from the manga.

starts off pretty slow but it gets pretty good ^^

  • This anime was always realistic and even if it didn't end the way I would have liked, or imagined, the way it end, surprised me with something bittersweet that I didn't expect. I think it was a good series, and I will deffinately re-watch it XD

  • OMG, please don't make me flame. I REALLY don't like doing this, I swear I dont. There is nothing realistic about this show, other than the one-way love, which as I said before is not enough to make a show. Enlighten me on what exactly was so realistic, and please tell me it's not the characters. The situations are forced and riddiculous. And they try to make them normal. It would be fine if it was a more fictional oriented show. But it takes itself too seriously, wich is what makes it lame.

  • everything about this show is realistic from the relationships from being in love with someone who doesn't notice you , to the struggles of an artist who isnt as talented as his friends , and alot more realistic than shows that have 5 girls with warped personalities falling in love with 1 guy

  • Realistic characters, am i weird for not having such super interesting friends? A rich and genious superstar/secret agent. A supposedly mature guy who goes after a suicidal, really important hot lady. A midget girl who has serious autistic problems and behaves like a 10 year old girl. And a pedophile who is supposed to be normal even though most people in his place would treat that girl as a father and not a lover. Please... and that's only the characters, the story is much worse, and forced.

  • beside the insert songs are great..

  • IMO.. this anime have plenty of meaningful messages. just because you dont like the ending doesn't mean that you should just discard everything you've watched until then. while i agree that the ending is not "hollywood". i think it's quite good, as in my real life experience, women would rather have security than succumbing to their desire. it sucks tho, if the accident never happen they would've ended up together. and Ayu and Yamada story is rather interesting to watch as well.

  • I would say fine, if there was any real character development. But there isn't. Maybe I was kinda harsh on the people that liked it because It wasted my time in such a crappy way. But I'm going to be objective and say that this is a bad story... If you feel you are being objective too.. fine, but i don't think you are if you consider this a good show.

  • Honey and Clover was more about "life" than "love". You should understand this. It shows how these people dealt with growing up after school, dealing with hard times along with love. I mean, love is just a portion of life, it's not everything. If you want a romance story, HnC is NOT for you.

  • My point is not about what the show its about... I'm saying that it fails to deliver a story that is worth of being taken seriously. NOTHING happens, analyze it, and you will see the forced depth when it comes to characters, and the story itself. And BtW, it IS about love, there is nothing about life in that show. At least nothing that is real or relevant for someone who knows the outside world. One way love is not enough to make a show, no matter how much forced drama you inject it with.

  • Wow. I suggest you look up the genre called "Slice of life". TONS of anime fall under this genre, and so does Honey and Clover. It shows us the way these people lived during this part of their lives. It's about life, clear and simple. Like I said before, if you were looking for romance, HnC isn't for you. Slice of Life? It can't get any better than Honey and Clover. I suggest you don't watch anime like "Aria" while you're at it too, since that's Slice of Life as well.

  • I've watched Clannad, Air, Kanon, Toradora, GTO, etc.. do any of those qualify as being Slice of Life? If they do, then my point still stands, because they all had stories with a real conflict and characters that were much more realistic even if there is a lot of fantasy in the stories themselves. But thanks for warning me about Aria, I don't want to ever have an experience like Hnc again in my life. I like stories with stories, sounds obvious, but apparently it's not. Since people liked HnC.

  • They might contain a bit of Slice of Life, but Clannad and Toradora are mainly romance/comedy, Air and Kanon are romance/drama and GTO is comedy/drama. Some of those are based off of hentai games, so I highly doubt that some of those would be considered Slice of Life.

  • I don't know about GTO but none of the others are based off hentai games. Toradora is a light novel, pretty popular one. And Air, Clannad and Kanon are visual novels but none are Hentai.

  • And I found a definition for "Slice of Life".

"A slice of life story is a category for a story that portrays a "cut-out" sequence of events in a character's life. It may or may not contain any plot progress and little character development, and often has no exposition, conflict, or dénouement, with an open ending."

So yeah... more than likely, if an anime has a clear cut ending, it's not "Slice of Life". Perhaps Toradora falls in Slice of Life a bit, it all depends on how the manga ends.

  • Thanks for the knowledge... I didn't know that was the definition of slice of life. I guess I've never seen a slice of life except for HnC. I hate stories with no plot or conflicts.. so I guess that's why I hate this series. I still can't believe people like watching stories with no conflict... Isn't that what our real life is for?

  • Ah, my bad. I meant "H-Game" as in "Eroge" or "Ero-Game". Ero and Hentai are somewhat interchangeable but you can get the wrong idea if I straight out say hentai.

  • no no no... they are not eroge or anything like that. I'm 100% sure. At least the ones I mentioned. They are dating sim games.. but not adult games at all.

  • Actually, Clannad was 100%not eroge, "Kanon nearly eliminated the erotic part of the eroge" and even released an all-age version. So I guess technically Kanon was eroge, although it had barely anything in there. Toradora is a light novel like Suzumiya. And Air I'm not sure about although I doubt it since there is a very big difference in age between the main characters, and since it was made after Kanon and at that point key was going for all-ages.

  • And people watch slice of life merely because they want to see the story unfold, love the characters and want to see what they experience. I mean, not everyone has gone to an school for art and fell in love with an artistic genius. It's not about the conflict, it's about stopping and smelling the roses. You don't get conflict, suspense and drama by doing that.

As for me, I watch Slice of Life as a breath of fresh air. I watch quite a bit of anime, and I get tired of the norm once in a while.

  • Well, fair enough. I still think non-stories should not exist, but if people like watching a non-comedic show about nothing then so be it. Although i do hate people trying to argue that this show has leasons and realistic characters and scenarios :S. Nways, thanks for the reasonable responses... eased my HnC hate flame a bit. Although I still think and allways will that this is a shallow non-story.

  • Well, I knew you wouldn't changed your opinion, but I just wanted to let you know why HnC is like that.

I do have a few suggestions for you though, from the anime you've listed. "ef - A Tale of Memories", it's sequel, "ef - A Tale of Melodies", "Kimi ga Nozomu Eien" and "Clannad - After Story" if you haven't seen it already. It's way better than the first imo.

  • Oh, I thought EF was awful...the way it uses sex as the epitome of love, and the whole thing.. I just thought it was shallow, and too hentaiish. I thought Clannad was amazing, and I´ve seen the after story. Might Check kimi ga nozomu eien later. Thnx for the suggestions.

  • Well...most of what I've seen with HnC is the Manga, but there is conflict in it, but rather than super huge, dramatic conflict, it's small everyday conflict and emotional conflict.

I'm not trying to say you're wrong for disliking HnC, but I disagree when you say there's no conflict.

  • but clannad , air ,kanon and toradora are all aimed at a younger teenage audience where h+c was aimed at an adult audience , this show is a realistic slice of life all the shows you mensioned are far from it being more in line with fantacy set in modern times , i can understand why people might not like it by why the hell would you watch the whole series then , and why bother flaming on the internet if you hate it so much

  • actually the show was about the day to day life of getting through college , the painful times and the happy times, and hanging around with your friends before going your own way in life

  • if u don't like it then don't watch. keep your opinions to yourself. it maybe took a lot of time making this anime. and if you think its pointless, it just means that you didn't understand what the story is all about.

  • keep your opinions to yourself... thats the most retarded thing I've ever read on youtube... if you can't see why then I am sorry for you.

  • go bac to school if u wan to learn sth

  • you go back if you want to learn how to spell.

  • stupid,it just the short form for the word dumbass

  • Heh, you insult a little too much. Maybe you should wait until your balls drop before you type in your dad's computer. And they are not short forms for the words :/ last time I checked, they aren't mentioned in any dictionary as being short forms of the words. Speak proper english if you want to be taken seriously. Otherwise remain a clown.

  • dont be so mad it worth watching its tell u everything not just pointless massage the man/girl who drawed this anime take a HUGE LOT OF TIME to make this anime for us all and u should be grateful imagine if u are he/she drawed this and some1 hates it they think they will just kill thierselves other than sepending half of their life 2 make this....
